- www.AsktheBuild... founder, Tim Carter, hires Todd to make seamless gutters. He shows you how EASY it is! Nothing to it if you buy a $10,000 seamless gutter machine and a $30,000 truck to put it in. Oh, and you have to buy 1,000 feet of flat coil stock at a time. GULP!
I hang gutter professionally. Was nice to see someone else work in the snow for a change. Hah much love. I like the outlet stamper thing. We use a hole saw. You guys don’t like the box miters? Strip miters?
Everyone has their own method for miters. This installer had a very creative method and it's been leak-free for several years. Yes, I worked in the snow for decades!
Love all the comments " Can't we all just get along" I came to this site and got more then I expeted. Happy New Year too everyone it's going to be a great year.
The issue is you have all sorts of trolls, know-it-alls, and folks who thrive on juice boxes and fruit roll-ups all in the same room. That's a recipe for disaster! ;-)
So how's the year looking for you so far? 🤣....
This is awesome!
I wish we had a company like this here! this totally ends the main problem of gutters to leak after time!
The only problem is that very long aluminium will extend quite a distance when getting hot.
So the mounting needs to be not stiff but flexible as the gutter will be longer on hot days and shorter on cold ones!
The only real downside was at the end of the video!
The edges dont look that pretty! Are there no edge pieces?? Why no bolting on edges? Why so little overlap at the edge?
So pult roofs will be best choice for these gutters because of no edge!
Animarkzero there are definitely end caps
Can you do a more in depth video on your miters? I do them a similar way but different. The way you do yours looks much easier and faster.
Dan, yes I can. Since it's a video to help you make more money, what are you willing to pay to have me set up again, hire a videographer for a day and then pay a post-production person so we can create an in-depth tutorial for you?
What a douche....I figured it out. My way is better and faster Always looking to try out new ways of doing things. But no need to fix something that’s not broke. Your way looked easier but that’s how you do it... no difference besides our template goes on the inside of the gutter.
Oh btw. So much for “asking the builder” change your name old man. Maybe I’ll come to NH with 8 of our 16 trucks and break your bank just for being an asshole. Have a good day. “Old man”

YW as we say in Morse. Check out the *THANKS* text link under the video if you really want to help support my channel.
Instead of flap-slicing the corners, Todd could have use a corner joint and sealed them together. Much more leakproof and faster.
Yes, but the way Todd did it looks better. His method produces the same look as you'd have with crown molding installed by a master carpenter. But thanks anyway for your suggestion.
Faster but you add a seam...so another place to leak pretty much
I fitted that for 20 years and end cap goes on it first comes out and the corners aren't good either.i fitted a piece of 325ft in one length.never seen his brackets which are every 18 inches was fitting this 30 years ago
I am on my first rain gutter and didn't look that good to me either.

Those machines are expensive! However you could probably get an old box truck for 5 grand, might need a little work though. Most guys in gutter work hate guys in refinishing work, they power wash the gutters, re-seal them and spray paint them and the old gutters looks new.

Hi Tim -
Happy Thanksgiving
I had my house done using that method - I am very pleased .
By the way what music is used for the back ground - I would like ti know - thanks
you are the sexiest man on the planet
You need to schedule an appointment ASAP with the best eye doctor you can find....
Royalty-free music that comes with iMovie.
lol you are , if only i was you neighbour, and if only you liked men.
Great work! Will you be doing another video on this topic?
Thanks for your kind words! I thought this video pretty much showed you how a seamless gutter is made. What step of making the gutter was skipped? If you want to know how to install a gutter, that's an entirely different video and I've got little interest at this time in creating it. At this point in time it's not at all profitable to create and put the videos up for free here on CZcams.
I may create the video and put it up for sale on Amazon if enough people ask for it. It would be a LONG video because there's so much to explain about all the different hangers, methods, back flashing, etc. Would you pay 99 cents to watch a detailed video of the installation? I need to be compensated for the time I put in to create it. What would you do if you were me?
There are seams on the corners and where the down spout goes. This machine seems to just creat "less seams"?
I have had several quotes for seamless gutters on my simple single-story home. All were around $4,000-$4,500. Seems way too expensive for gutters...
Should be about 5$ a lineal foot. At least that what we install for.
Correct. Thus the moniker: SEAMLESS GUTTERS. For unlimited free tips each week subscribe to my FREE newsletter at www.AsktheBuilder.com
Nice video l didn't even know about this machine
They've been around for decades.
Dude. Where in the heck did you find that drill bit to punch that outlet..?
Online while chatting with babes... Use your God-given critical-thinking skills and you'll find one in less than 90 seconds for goodness sake - probably as long as it took you to type your question to me.
I wish the gutters would stay nice and pearly white like that forever
Big Al, it's EASY to keep white gutters looking like that! They get grimy and streaked from diesel exhaust soot that settle on the small flat ledge up on the top. When it rains, it washes the soot onto the face of the gutter. All you have to do is when the gutters look dirty spray them with a solution of Stain Solver in the early morning, wait about ten minutes, and rub them with a sponge and rinse. Here's how you get Stain Solver: stainsolver.com It's the only certified organic oxygen bleach made in the USA. I own the company.
@@askthebuilder yes I have used many cleaners like that and I actually have installed the gutter edge before which is supposed to prevent that it would be nice if somebody would come up with like a self washing technique or something
I doubt it's a priority with the manufacturers of the coil stock.
@@askthebuilder very true
Hi, Could you please specify the manufacturer of seamless gutter machine
Did you see the name on the side of the truck and phone number? If you were a detective, what might be your next move?
Would a 14 foot truck work for a 6" gutter machine business?
Go look at the first ten seconds again and estimate the length of that truck. There's also a clue on the side of the truck where you can ask someone.
Being from a large city (Atlanta)
It’s odd to see only 7 digits being advertised on the side of a truck. I’m like… What’s the area code? Lol
Only one area code in NH: 603
Corner joints definitely look smoother
You don't like his hand cut miters? You like the outside miter strips im assuming

Do you ever use inside and outside corners?
Are you asking me or the guy who installed them? If him, call him up. Look on the side of the truck for his #.
what gauge of aluminum was used in your installation Tim ?
I have no clue. Call the number on the side of the truck. He'll tell you.
Can you do a cost comparison please.
What good would a cost comparison be if I used NH prices? You need to do your own comparison in your city or town to discover your local prices.
I love this! In my marine business I have so much money in equipment and some people think they can use their toolbox to complete what I do. When you said, "Yeah it's easy when you have a $10,000 machine," I could have peed myself. Cool video. Nice work. Hit me up if you're ever in Florida. You inspired me to not try this myself, as handy as I am.. :P
You used to be able to buy 40-foot lengths of Alcoa preformed gutters. The made inside and outside small corner trim that hid the miters well. I try to avoid Florida for a host of reasons.
Im in Orlando Fl we have a couple machines. We do work all around central Florida. Give us a shout 407.401.4815

why use strip miters when you can goop the shit out of it
My guess is you should reach out to Todd and share a video of how you do it.
That screws will leak in 2 years use strips meters they are 100% better i do gutter and siding for 15 year and no repairs 😁
Please do all of us a favor and make a viedo showing your method. Upload it to your channel and then come back here under this comment and paste the URL. Let's see how you fasten the metal together and seal it. By the way, this video was recorded in the late fall of 2016. It's been two years and there are no leaks. Just thought I'd let you know that.
I don't have time to do videos but if you know how to do gutters you know that is wrong is just preference thanks
Tell that man to wear gloves.
I will the next time I see him. And it was a COLD day too! That aluminum was ice cold.
Get some mitres bud , join them properly
TNX. Remember that opinions are like bringing a rubber knife to a gunfight. You need hard data from an authoritative survey of 1000, or more, consumers as to WHAT is a *proper* looking miter.
Man this company I work for is not doing them right and won't listen to me bout it it pisses me off that's the way I was taught when I was three there setting me up for failure

What a sloppy job
I agree to a large extent. But there's a saying in the construction biz: "You need to know when to do what."
What a joke. You can get everything you need to do this from lowes or home depot.
Uh, no you can't. You can't go to those two places and come out of the store with a 60-foot-long continuous one-piece gutter. You may come out with 10-foot pieces you pop rivet together. You miss the entire point of the video. It's to show people the method by which continuous gutters are formed.
Ask the Builder it seems like point of the video is to advertise this tready inferior product. How thin is that aluminum?
I'm going to be as polite as possible. First, it's not a trendy product. Seamless gutters have been around for three or more decades. They're not inferior. They're superior to gutters you buy in sections and pop rivet together. Knock yourself out at the following website to discover more. In closing, do yourself a favor and stop commenting when you don't know anything about the topic. My suggestion is for you to research the topic first, then come and make comments. www.englertinc.com/rainpro-seamless-gutter-machine.html
Ask the Builder
Don't you pop rivot the corners and calk / epoxy the seams also. Also The aluminum is much thinner than in a standard gutter.
I'm going to be as nice as I can to you. Seamless gutters are a cheap inferior product that are being pushed on the consumer because they can be installed quickly and cheaply. I have been installing gutters for 40 years and I choose not to involved with this lower income fad.
I got a quote for 740 on seamless plus downspouts, I have about 1000 Sq ft
