Hey, so you're interested in starting intermittent fasting, or maybe you have a family member or friend that's interested in starting it. Well, this video is going to be your entire overview. It's going to give you everything you need to know to get started with intermittent fasting. So the cool thing is intermittent fasting is really easy to get started on. Now, the caveat is there is some little intricacies that you need to be paying attention to and that's exactly why I created this video in some serious detail. So what we're going to cover in this video is a number of different things, and I'm going to go down the line so that you have a solid idea of what we're going to cover.
So first off we're going to talk about what is intermittent fasting and why you shouldn't overthink it. We're going to talk about the basic benefits, not going to spend a whole lot of time on that because if you're watching this video, you're probably already interested, and your curiosity has been peaked because you know someone that has had crazy success with it. But we're going to talk about the physical benefits. In fact, fat loss and some muscle gain. We're going to talk about the mental, and the focus benefits. We're also going to talk about the cellular rejuvenation benefits, but again, not going to spend a lot of time there.
Simply put, intermittent fasting isn't a diet. Intermittent fasting is a meal timing plan. So basically what you're doing is you're focusing on a specific period of time in which you are abstaining from food and abstaining from calories and then you have a set period of time in which you consolidate all of your food, all of your calories. You're basically going for an extended period of time and not eating fasting. And then you're going into a period of time where you are eating, your fed window. So one of the biggest problems that people make with fasting is they overthink it, okay?
They tend to complicate things. And it's human nature for us to do that. So you really need to keep it very, very simple. Intermittent fasting is just not eating for a set period of time and then consolidating your calories. There's a lot of different intricacies in between, but for all intents and purposes, that's the goal. So let's briefly talk about the benefits. Okay. There are huge physical benefits and that's probably the main reason that people are attracted to intermittent fasting, and it's a good chance that that's why you're watching this video right now. Physical benefits include dramatic, dramatic fat loss all while maintaining muscle. Okay. Also, increasing muscle tone, increasing muscle density, and there're some other general things like actually improving your vascular function as well that can improve your look. So in addition to helping out your skin, helping out your appearance in that regard, there are other benefits too, like your nails, your hair, all kinds of things simply because of the nutrient uptake that occurs.
So I hope this overview has given you a solid perspective on what intermittent fasting is and what intermittent fasting is not. Honestly, it's for everybody. You can use intermittent fasting with keto. You can use intermittent fasting with paleo, being a vegan or whatever you want. The thing is intermittent fasting is the proper protocol in which you are not eating versus what you are eating.
And I want to make sure that you check out the plethora of videos that are on my channel that teach you the different intricacies, and the different little things you need to pay attention to when it comes down to intermittent fasting or prolonged fasting. Thanks for watching. Please make sure you subscribe. See you in the next video.

Black coffee. After fast: bone broth. Fast length: 16 hour fast... 8 hour meal time after. WORKOUT IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR FAST. No sweetners in coffee or tea. Dont mix FATS and CARBS because it will open up your cells and store fats in carbs in your cells. Start with 16 hours and then move to 18-20. Stop your eating at 10 pm then start eating at 2 PM. Caffeine helps boost fat loss and helps autophagy. Hope this helps anyone who doesnt have the patience to watch the whole video. Dont consume pre workouts during a fast. Sorry that the order is out of whack but I was just trying to get all the information down.

Funny thing is that we Indians always had this in our religion but never realized the value untill now.
We have dry fast 2wice a year one in March n one in October (although has a religious story behind it). Religious fasting of no solid food on Mondays and Thursdays. Also Jainism strictly follows fasting after dinner until next morning 8am. So 12 to 14 hrs fasting everyday with 2 solid food fasting in a week and 2 dry fasting a year. Also most of Indians are vegetarians. Now get the entire logic behind this after watching this vedio...

I find myself loving breakfast so actually eating at around 8 or 9 am and skipping dinner instead! (Night is worst for late snacks). Your video was one I used to help get started! Thank you for explaining so well in one full video!

2 Ways to think about a "DIET"
    1. Eat what you want, but not when you want.
    2. Eat when you want, but not what you want.
I stared my new lifestyle of Intermittent Fasting about 3 months ago. Ive always been athletic, but I had put on some weight after college. I weighted 175 in college as a Div1 Athlete. I got up to 223 as an adult 10 years later. I should be at 185 for my height and age. From 223 to now (3months) I am down to 191, 32 solid pounds. I mean solid as in permanent hard core fat loss. I look lean again and can still get even more lean. I am looking forward to that part!! lol
The crazy part about this lifestyle is that you adjust to it so well, that you actually feel full all the time, with plenty of energy, focus, and attention. Its crazy! You actually want to start breaking your fast with the healthy food instead of the junk i used to crave everyday. I even have to work out on my fast some times because of work and it feels exactly the same as when I work out while feeding. To be honest its not the best thing to do in the long term. The more fat you burn in your fasting state the less fat you burn while feeding. And you want to burn more while your feeding, right! check out what JIM STOPPANI says about fasted workouts. And why he doesn't recommend them! What Thomas is saying is absolutely on point by the way, however there has been some new additional research came out, its fascinating (do yourself a favor and look into it if you want to know the new science behind fasting workouts).
My basic understanding is that the more lean you are, the better the fasting workout is. If you have a high BPI, then its not the best thing for you.
I also want to point out how true it is that once your mind goes into the "survival state" it is almost magical. I am super focused, on point, my memory is astonishing, massive energy, its surreal..
I highly recommend this to anyone that you truly care about, including yourself!
In this culture we have ritualized our habits and routines. Especially with the way we all were brought up to believe, feed, sleep.
Break the eating ritual. Start a new and improved (with science and education) eating ritual. Intermittent Fasting.

    16-8 windows
Eat a lot fiber before fasting
Do not eat carbs with fat to break the fast (insulin opens cells and let fat in -> not good)
    Drink black coffee or tea
Workout during the fasting -> burn more fat especially in muscles
The longer you fast, the sharper your brain is.
Fasting makes us become more focused also.
Woman bodies send more hunger signals than men’s
Intermittent fasting helps building more muscles compared to normal eating windows.
If the supplements have carb or calories, they break the fast.
Alcohol is toxic, liver not functioning well -> burn fast less effectively.

    Keep it easy & simple.
-Don’t eat anything in 16 hours (includes sleeping time) and eat some good stuff in 8 hours.
-during the “not eating hours” drink black coffee / tea / water ONLY without adding any SUGAR or CREAM at all. No diet coke, diet soda, or whatever else except those three liquid.
Well, people always give excuses that it’s okay to add just a little. But if that’s the plan, don’t waste your time in the fasting plan.
That’s about it, stick to the plan and never give up to see results. Trust me, it works 100%. Thomas explained it in a more detailed way. But my summarisation is the fundamentals.

I’ve just SUBSCRIBED to your channel. You are a GODSEND because there were a few questions I needed answering and you covered everything and more. You made it so easy to remember and understand compared to other channel’s videos where they confused and frustrated me. I will be doing the 16-8 fasting and following all your advice plus watching your videos that cover intermittent fasting and health. If all our teachers/lecturers were like you in school, college and university, I can guarantee you that nobody would FAIL. Thank you for everything you are doing to help us become more healthier and live longer. I’ve shared your video and we all agree that you are fit, healthy and gorgeous which is a great motivation for males and females looking to change or improve their lifestyle 💯👌👊

I am so excited to try out a premiered video! This is a very detailed fasting guide video that will be perfect for you to share with your friends and family that are new to fasting.
I set this up in a great format that will allow you to reference certain points in the video so that you can send to anyone who is wanting to know about a specific topic.
I will also be here live for the premiere!

Thomas DeLauer If you are a type 1 diabetic, do you have to worry about no calorie no carb sweeteners or diet pop, in relation to an insulin spike, since my body does not produce insulin and has to be taken manually? I intermittent fast 18 to 20 hrs most all days for sake of consistency with diabetic control and maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks will not fast, but just wanted to confirm without an actual insulin spike due to diabetes am I ok or am I compromising the benefits?

Good luck!! I'm on week 5 and still no fat loss. No budge. Went into it being relatively healthy and working out for years and trying to watch what I eat but weight gain from getting older and having had an injury brought me to IF. Not convinced it is really all that healthy to do. The science makes sense but not sure it is what is best for our bodies. At any rate, going to give it a little more time. I wish you well on your journey.

Tip 1: Change your mindset about food. Find a reason why you should fast daily.
Tell yourself: "I dont need food to be happy or active. I always feel better when i do not eat..." If you are a Christian then you can add this: "It helps curb my desires and gives me more time to think and pray"
Tip 2: Intermittent Fasting is a must do. Forget about keto diet, etc cos they are temporary and not habitual... IF is habitual and sustainable. Do not fast less than 16 hours a day. I do 18 or 20 daily, and drink water regularly...
Tip 3: Meal prep is very important... Make sure you prepare your meals to last for at least 1 week, and they are easily microwaveable. It will stop you from eating unhealthy or unplanned meals. Ensure you add alot of veggies to your meals like carrots, beet, greens, ball peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc... They boost metabolic burning process and make your food rich...
Tip 4: Less cardio, more strength exercises... Cardio makes you exhausted when fasting, but strength makes you feel stronger and muscle building increases your daily metabolic burning rate...
I am 1-2 months in, already burnt more than 30% body fat, fitting into old clothes, feeling healthier, lighter and stronger...
    CONSISTENCY IS KEY!!!
I wish you the best 👍

Never eat until after 1pm and usually have 1-2 meals a day max. Ive maintained my strength and body weight at 185. I dont eat alot of protein. Very easy to maintain longevity with fasting as it boosts HGH levels. Any time i want to train for a race or have a goal to lift more its easily met in 2-3weeks. And i have more mental clarity/energy then ever. Not eating all the time is a superpower.
