Here is a "Walkaround" video of Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. There's no way to show everything in one video. I have several up of different areas of the complex.
Am thinking of surprising my youngest daughter on her birthday if you use Akumal can you also use the restaurants located at Coba and The other property? I stayed at Coba before and loved it! Do the Trolleys go to each property? I love the beach bar at Coba.
Only Luxury Akumal section is Open now. The other 3 are planned to open October or November. All Luxury Akumal guests have full access to everything - all restaurants included and bars included - at Coba and Tulum Sections. Additionally, Luxury Akumal adults 18+ also have full access to Sian Kaan. Trolleys are constantly going from and to all sections. Even when we have stayed at Sian Kaan we have spent days at the Coba beach area because everything is so great. The bar, close by restrooms, the lunch buffet at Gran Tortuga. The only thing I miss is the more comfortable loungers at Akumal & Sian Kaan beach area. Jeff (Papaw)
Have a great time and don't forget to relax. I will be in Oaxaca City while you're at Luxury Akumal. Give us a report on the new Sports Bar please! Jeff (Papaw)
Loving it,,great place, sports bar absolutely gorgeous, reception area out of this world ,staff amazing . Pools ,food everything gorgeous,,.only thing i do not like much is the musty smell in the rooms,
Some are indeed more sensitive to that than others. It is the tropics and some rooms - any room at any resort - can get stanky sometimes. Next trip, to whichever resort that might be, pack a few small deodorizing candles. Tonight (Saturday) do not miss the Gala Buffet. If you don't have kids with you take the trolley over to Sian Kaan's Gala Buffet. Jeff (Papaw)
Its allowed because the rips-off timeshare company pays Bahia a lot of money. It is infuriating when they step out in front of you in the hallway, even though they aren't supposed to. I sometimes have mess with them. I'll look them in the eye and say "Sorry, I do not speak English" or say "I'll have a rum & coke please". Jeff (Papaw)
A few years ago I would have said Akumal was definitely worth the upgrade price. But my observation is that everything is evening out more and more and I just really like Coba, as do many thousands that go regularly. The list of what I miss at Coba that I get at Akumal is short: Unlimited ala carte and drink service to my lounger at the beach and pools. I prefer Sian Kaan of any resort anywhere when the grandkids aren't with us. Jeff (Papaw)
@@papawgotagopro thanks again, me and my family where at Coba late November 2019 and we liked it a lot but if the only difference is ala carte and drink service it doesnt seem worth the extra money, how about the food in the buffet is it way better?
@@papawgotagopro thanks, me and my family were at Coba late November and we absolutely loved it, so if the only difference are the ala carte and drink service i dont think the upgrade is worth it is the buffet better?
A few years ago we saw a wedding at sunset at the Tulum section as we were walking to the Tequila restaurant. The wedding gazebo is near there. There are usually one almost everyday during normal times. Tulum section is shut down while being remodeled. Planned to reopen November 2020. Jeff (Papaw)
Hi Stacey. Yes, it is Luxury Bahia Akumal, in the Bahia Principe Riviera Maya resort complex. I was there in August, my 8th trip to the complex in recent years. I stayed at the Sian Kaan section and filmed all of the videos on my channel from that trip. Next week we are going to Oaxaca and I'll be uploading several from there. Jeff (Papaw)
@@papawgotagopro Hello. The resort you stayed is called Luxury Bahia Principe Sian Kaan. Not Luxury Bahia Akumal. The area is considered Akumal but the resort you stayed is not. There is a separate resort specially called Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. Then there is Luxury Bahia Principe Tulum.
@@TheBarrett2011 Very confusing Stacey, first you tell OP that he isn't in Mexico, but in Jamaica, then when we specifies that this is Luxury Bahia Akumal, you again correct him by telling him its not the hotel he says it is, but one of the other hotels at the same property. Look at his videos, he has all the properties
Hello again Stacy. There are 4 resort hotels at the Grand Bahia Riviera Maya complex; Luxury Sian Kaan, Luxury Akumal, Coba and Tulum. They are all together in one place, pull up Google Earth and take a look. We have been to the various resorts 10 times in recent years. Someone staying at the Luxury Sian Kaan has full and complete access to the other 3 resorts. When we were there in August we spent time at all 4 hotels and I filled 2 64g SD cards with amateur video. Then at home I put them together into 16 different videos for my new youtube channel. Does this help? Jeff (Papaw)
@@papawgotagopro Hi Papaw. Thank you for your response. I too have been to this resort many of times. We have stayed in the Akumal Section and Tulum section. When staying in the Akumal section we had access to all 4 resorts. It was wonderful. The reason for my original response was that I just wanted it to be clear that this specific video you were showing was not of the Akumal section but in fact the Sian Ka-an section. You have it title "Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal" so when I clicked on it, I was expecting a tour of the Akumal section. I'm sure you can see where that would be a little unclear. Yes it is in Akumal Mexico, but it is not of the Akumal section. Either way, great video and I hope to see more. This is a great resort and I hope to back again one day!

There are a few things in the Akumal buffet, like more on Gala night. But again, these days I don't see much difference.

What room would be the best for room selection
That depends on what “best” means to you?
