Doesn't matter if you support it. This Industry is dead. No up and comers can make these kinds of movies anymore. Heck this movie looks like they had to bow down to diversification just like other woke movies. The insurance and cost of a production is ridiculous. Gone are the days of the Spaghetti Westerns when you could make a good movie on a few bucks. And the push to get guns out of the movie industry is getting stronger and stronger. I don't like it. Just stating the facts.

My grandfather came from Scotland to NYC. Took a train west....when he got to Laramie, he said," Hell, I'm already at the end of the world....might as well get off!" (That's probably where his money ran out). He ended up homesteading and eventually built up a 6,000 acre cattle ranch.

It is a “hammer” on his revolver that Costner cocks, not a lever. His rifle has a lever and a hammer. The lever puts the gun into battery and cocks the hammer. If the hammer is de-cocked, it can be re-cocked when ready to fire by way of the hammer.

@@user-yk2zb6nm7o I swing a hammer. A wheel gun actually has a fulcrum operating to turn the cylinder while pulling the lever/hammer back.
When the trigger is pressed the hammer comes down striking a cap placed on the back of the cylinder igniting the black powder inside the cylinder. Two separate actions.

I loved it. I've read comments from people hating it cause its not enough action, it's slow paced etc etc.. I guess people have just gotten used to instant action films like the Marvels films etc and they need immediate action etc. I like this, this is more old school story telling, the cinematography was beautiful, the story telling is excellent and the build up to whats coming was great. It's called "saga" for a reason. I can't wait for pt 2. I grew up in Apache country and learned all about them in school etc. So for me, this is great Apache's don't get enough of "true" story telling in films. its sad to see it not do so well at the theaters. Again, if it had nothing but green screen action scenes it'd make a billion dollars I'm sure.. Kinda sad where film making has gone, cause the days of old school practical on screen shoots and that being a big part of the story has been missed.

The acting is good, the script is good, the story is an interesting introduction into these characters and the saga, and the scenery is beautiful. The 3 hours flies by because the story is cohesively told. Consequently the direction is perfect.
Critics not recognizing this must have had their brain cells frozen by CGI driven silly superhero movies or films with WOKE agendas.

If you enjoy reviewing movies I have a suggestion for you. The movie Suddenly, it's an old Black and white movie made in 1954. If you want to understand the difference in mental attitude between America today and at least in the 50's watch this movie. Yes it does have Frank Sinatra in it. No this does not detract from the story. The comparison is in my opinion astounding. Simple vs complex, being American for REAL not in name only. So much comes through again at least to me. There is a remake .... DO NOT watch this its trash, it's garbage and DOES NOT FOLLOW the original story AT ALL. It's on the same level as the original Manchurian Candidate. Interestingly the remake is also a bunch of trash and just plain garbage.
