- The @santacruzbicycles2841 Heckler SL is essentially a mid-powered e-bike version of the acclaimed Bronson, MX wheels and all. It's powered by a Fazua Ride 60 motor and 430Wh internal battery and it is probably the hottest bike Santa Cruz currently makes. So hot, in fact, we still haven't been able to get our hands on one for a full review.
So when we found out that The Ace Bicycles Forge in Gomshall had a demo bike in our size we jumped at the chance to ride it.
The model we rode was the Santa Cruz Heckler SL S Carbon C.

Totally agree with your sentiment, I sold my SB130LR and bought a 2024 Orbea Rise H10 with the 540 battery. First ride had a smile as soon as I hit the climbs. I’m also time poor and can now get in extra kms and elevation per ride.

Love how these look! But the devaluation on e-bikes is insane.
The SLs are even harder to sell. I’d encourage anyone purchasing a SL to be sure you’re going to keep it as they don’t hold their money at all.

How does it compare to the Levo sl gen 2 ?
i just demoed this and the levo sl 2 this past weekend up at china camp park. on the levo, it felt like an extension of my body. the heckler seemed more in its element in the chunkiest stuff but felt surprisingly dull on most rides. also tried a shuttle sl which was right in between.
Looked at it locally, then saw the price of 9370.- usd and comes with sram NX, Fox36 rythm and thought to myself, no thank you.
Sram should be sued for sx and nx. They just DON'T work.
Mines up to 15k before depreciation of course.. but it's a dream build and I would never spend that in my life again... amazing bike though, no buyers remorse here.
@@_Jake.From.Statefarm_ this video spec for 7599 pounds sounds more sane. In my neck of the woods they sell twice as bad components for basically 20% higher price. At 7600 euros I would buy that spec but it is probably 11K down here…
@jevgeniardassov yeah mine was the cc carbon 12k one and I put a dhx2 fox 38, onyx classic hubs, maven brakes and rotors, 155mm forx cranks, etc... she's a beauty though!
@@Tequila628I’m not saying this bike at that price should be spec’d with NX but I’ve never had any problems with the NX drivetrains I’ve had.

My alloy full power ebike is less than 4kg heavier, and this bike is classed as super light, really.
