DIY Electric Hydrofoil Part 20 - His First Time!

- My friend Andreas from e-surfer.com is visiting LA. We went out for an early efoil session in the marina today. He rides electric surfboards and jetboards but this was his first time on any type of hydrofoil. Nice run!

Thank you man for doing this there is this company called efoil and they are way overpriced at a price of 12k. Thank you for showing us we can do it diy id rather build it myself anyways more bragging rights and nothing makes the lady's more wet than a handyman cheers Guys

Ist es lagal, die Dinger in öffentlichen Gewässern zu benutzen?
ich kann es dir leider nicht sicher sagen, doch ich denke schon, da dieses Teil als Sportgerät durchgehen wird und wenn der Motor nicht mehr als ich glaub 5 PS überschreitet.
Man kann ja auch soweit ich noch weiß mit einem Motorboot bis 5 PS ohne Schein auf öffentlichen Gewässern fahren.
ist allerdings nur eine Vermutung!

Na es gilt schon seit einigen Jahren 15 PS Führerschein frei zu fahren. Allerdings sollte man sich vorher schlau machen was das ausgesuchte Gewässer angeht. Es gelten für die meisten Gewässer unterschiedlich Regelungen. z.B Meck Pom ist fast alles erlaubt was Führerschein frei ist.
Für den Bodensee gilt laut BSO .Elektrisch sollte bis 4,4kw kein Problem sein . Rettungsweste ab 40kg mit 100N Auftrieb sind da Pflicht.
Flüsse ist auch nicht so einfach. Es gibt Bundesgewässer (meist erlaubt)
Landesgewässer da bei Unsicherheit für Flüsse das zuständigen Schiffffffahrtsamt anrufen und bei Badeseen das Landratsamt . Wenn auf Badeseen Elektroboote fahren, sollte für efoil und esurf kein Verbot bestehen.

Hey. Love your videoes! You've spend a long time and effort making the board. But you are still using a plastic glove for your remote? :D When are you gonna build a real waterproof remote? :D
yes yes, i know ;)... too many other projects. It works ok with the blue double gloves for now.
I am a former windsurfer with a torn up shoulder from work.....would you ever consider making this available as a kit. I will need to learn the hydrofoil part first so I dont want to design/build my own and trying to master two skills at once could be a pain lol thanks so much for posting your videos the thought of feeling a board planing under me again is keeping me cheerful :D:D:D:D so THANKS UR THE BOSS

how much difference in kg is Andreas from you, I'm 127kg and wondering if an efoil would rise?
Hi Darrel, close to my weight. As you get familiar with the weight positioning it gets easier to get up. 127 is probably difficult with my build but I have no doubt that it can be done with a bigger SUP wing and a bigger board.
