Lyrics:
Hit'em boys!
Well I've said it before, and I'll say it again
You get nothing for nothing: expect it when
You're backseat driving, and your hands ain't on the wheel
It's easy to go along with the crowd,
And find later on that your say ain't allowed
Oh that's the way to find what you've been missing
So I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
A chance before I fall!
You can hang in a left or hang in a right
The choice it is yours to do as you might
The road is open wide to place your bidding
Now, wherever you turn, wherever you go
If you get it wrong, at least you can know
There's miles and miles to put it back together!
And I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
A chance before I fall!
On the highway! On the highway!
Making a curve or taking the strain
On the decline, or ut on the wain
Oh everybody breaks down sooner or later
We'll put it to rights, we'll square up and mend.
Back on your feet to take the next bend!
You weather every storm that's coming atcha!
And I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothin' to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
Yes, I'm heading out to the highway,
I got nothing to lose at all.
I got nothing to lose at all! - Hudba
I need to listen to Judas Priest more often to help me cope with today's world.
LOL
LOVE IT BRAHDA
Amen 2 that.
May i recommend "Ram it down" , the song and the whole album. Priest Rules!!!!
I do on my bike lol esp breakin the law
Amen, Leslie! I have to listen to "Hell Bent For Leather/ Killing Machine", and I mean the entire album, at least once a week to maintain my sanity.
I'd give anything to be able to go back to that point in time.
My brother Gary passed 2 weeks ago today, this was a favorite song of his .R.I.P. brother, gonna miss you.
Your brother had GREAT taste.
Sorry for your loss, he had awesome taste in music
I'm here cause of my Dad, passed last year 2019 June 29th. Your brother and my Dad live forever in this hard rockin, ass kicking, good living, and good loving generation of music. Peace, to all you Heads out there. ✌
My condolences , he is alive in the afterlife and rocks like you can not on earth, maybe met Jimi, Janice, etc ,etc who knows .But we all will one day .Stay positive and enlightened ...Peace...
RIP
Nothing better than driving down the road , windows down, this song cranked up wearing some aviator shades …
Sept 17 1986 hit the highway heading from Canada to L.A..... pushed this tape into the deck. Point of entry still remains my favorite JP album. Desert plains is my favorite song ripping up back roads on my Harley!!!!
I’m old enough to remember in 1981ish? When this video was in MTV rotation. Was one of the heaviest things you could see on your tv.
Every time priest and maiden came on it was GLORIOUS 🤘
Yeah and breaking the law
Hell yea!!
It was about nineteen eighty-two. Number of the beast came on MTV. My friend's mom shut off the TV and put a Bible on top of it.
Looking back, their video,s were appalling, but they have a kind of cheesy appeal after 40 years! Love early Priest!
one of the best heavy metal bands of all time.
THE best heavy metal band of all time
Bro...best Priest and best metal of all time ...
No...they are the metal gods
THE best. or at least the most pure metal band. no band is more metal than priest
one of the first as well.
Point Of Entry is EXTREMELY underrated. Just a great hard rock album, with awesome production. Halford IS the Metal God!!!
Agreed
Metal GODS
So true mate, good rocking album and this lineup of the Priest are metal gods !!
Point of entry sucked. There may have been 3 decent songs on it. Maybe
@@Nazman06 This, Desert Plains, and Solar Angels are solid songs.
44 years old and learning guitar... Jamming along to this is amazing.
How are those Eddie Van Halen licks coming along? lol
@@dvdfrnzwbr yeah super ffs lol
was never a huge Priest fan
....until I started playing guutar.....WOW
65 here.
I'm 51 years old, and I just wanna say to you is... Keep Rockin'!!! 🤟😎🤟
This is awesome. The classics never die.
Definitely never die!🤘Love Judas Priest!
It'll never die but it's been scratched from the live set ..🤐
Bang your head!
Nothing better than growing up to when MTV had these great songs and videos on.
rhoads' girl my dad told me that lol I'm 13
YOU SAID IT,YOU SAID IT!!!!!!. THE GLORY YEARS WHEN MTV WAS WHAT IT USED TO BE. MUSIC VIDEO'S 24-7!!!! NOTHING BUT CRAP NOWADAY'S. GENERATION XER'S UNITE!!!!! ROCK ON RHOAD'S GIRL!!!!!
I agree MTV was the Sh*t,but even before was better!
listen2100 Mtv was the "shit" . But now it is a piece of shit that should just pack it in and go off the air. 1981-87 were the best years of Mtv. Now they are totally irrelevant.
MTV turned to a shit direction before it even got off the ground..except for maybe Headbangers..
World would be a boring place without Judas Priest. Metal forever.
Gotdam! What a legendary band and vocalist! When someone asks "who's the epitome, pure definition of metal?" Judas Priest. The GOAT
A drag race that breaks the minimum speed limit! Retro, dude!
Cheesy video but it's the music that matters, Rock on brothers in crime!!
At least the drummer had the sense to park his drums off the highway
R.I.P. Dave Holland, simply recorded the best Judas Priest albums!!!
thats for sure!
What about Stained Class?
Loved his drums in Desert Plains. His snare had an amazing pop to it like the report from a 30-06
Exactly! Great point! In audio world that snare sound has a "pre-delay" on the reverb which makes it hit a bit later and it sounds really special.
Kk downing and Glen Tipton the best twin lead duo by a mile
No question!!!
Hands down
kk & Glenn were and are perform er's but being the best ax men,,, Iron Maiden beat them hands down....;)
painkiller has Judas Priest best progress gtr attack
maybe so but the twin guitars in Thin Lizzy were pretty outstanding too!-just saying...
Growing up i didn't totally appreciate Judas Priest. Now i do. Rob what a great singer.
JUDAS PRIEST FOREVER! LONG LIVE JUDAS PRIEST!
Rest in peace Dave, forever in our hearts with your catchy drums :)
damn the drummer is tight af.
The Priest 4 EVR.☝️☝️🤘🤘😎
I got to perform (guitar) the Hellion/Electric Eye with Halford once back the 80s. it was amazing! He was amazing! Absolutely album perfect. At one point I was in a squat shredding the solo when he hooked his arm around my neck, a pitcher of beer in one hand and a lit cigarette and the mic in the other, and did his trademark scream. Though I never had much success as a musician, I always remember that as my finest moment - being good enough to get that kind approval from a legend like Rob Halford.

What an honor
Touched. By the Metal God.
EPIC!
You did good…
Seriously guys - what a voice, huh? Halford has some serious pipes. I know that's not news but we should appreciate it for what it is. A hell of a singer.
I just saw him perform Saturday night at the fundraiser for Alice Cooper's charity, Coopstock. He's still got it. This was the first song he performed.
I listen to Judas Priest for comfort in this dark world!
This, screaming for vengeance, living after midnight, diamonds and rust, another thing coming, breaking the law. These guys are a heavy metal hit machine
My favorite Priest song of all time. Simple and effective, with a good melody.
Mine too--this song always gets my adrenaline PUMPING--an awesome tune!!
Yes, simple but well composed
Dave Hollands drumming is incredible..Judas Priest, One of the greatest ever bands.
I'd have to agree, really. Those 3 unique fills really compliment the song...
Holland was one of the great unknowns. His work with Trapeze was incredible, just listen to Way Back to the Bone. And Priest had their greatest success during the Holland years.
Yeah and he was jailed for sexual assault on a minor, great guy
Yeah dude was drumming up minor asses! 😆
@@aaronrodden8121 Bullshit, if you followed the case you would know the 2 extortionist were trying to get money from a man who had none, just fame. I really feel for the mans reputation.
The good old days! Philadelphia USA
I'm in my mid 50's never gets old ROCK ON!!!!!
Same here. 1984 graduate.
For true dedicated fans of Judas Priest ONLY!!! czcams.com/video/7rdBs81xMdo/video.html
Same here 55 yrs old and hell yea I jammed this back in the day
57. Saw them at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater on the Painkiller tour. I've been to many a concert but none as loud as Priest.
I'm 69 and still a fan. Saw Priest and Iron Maiden on city island in Harrisburg Pa , back in the 80 's great concert.
bring me back to 1982 god please...metal forever
Late 70s, early 80s was arena rock HEAVEN!
My personal favorite year was 1979-80 scorpions Judus priest Ted Nugent black Sabbath ufo Montrose all had great albums out then as well
Hard to undo hard metal like this.
Except this was in 1981. Close, though!!
@@bobthebear1246 ....I rocked with this one as hell in '82, just like everybody else. Well, except your dad, boy.
Always loved this song. Didn't realize till later on in my life the positive and uplifting message of the lyrics. .awesome
To those religious freaks who say Heavy Metal like this is negative and evil, F--- OFF, to those "Metalheads" who don't like Heavy Metal to have a positive message, DITTO.
You and me both. Funny isn't it.
@@johnnytorino9455 I listen to this early in the morning on my way to work , it gets me going.. Thanks
Yeah, real positive... Until the subliminal messages causes you to blow a hole through your face! LOL!
same with You Got Another Thing Coming. Took Pat Boone for me to realize the song is very idealistic and hopeful.
The lyrics to this song are an almost perfect road/life metaphor. "You put it to rights, square up the mend, back on your feet, to take the next bend, you'll weather every storm that's coming at you."
perfect song
1:03 he vibratos the note in time with the music.
not hard to accomplish ;p;p
Because he’s the Metal God Mr. Truth!👋
@Garegh62 Are you really calling TruthSurge a moron? YIKES
Angry comments, and if this shit were easy everybody'd be doing it. Lighten up, enjoy the song. \m/
So is the guitar vibrato.
Perfect voice, 😎 perfect look, perfect guitars, perfect band 😎
Funfact: the same background was used during filming the road runner cartoon
First band I saw in concert (I think it was 1978. Then saw them at a small venue in Dallas a few years later. We sat at a table at the end of the stage. Rob walked over and was singing right at us. We could here his voice directly. Was friggin' amazing. That guy has some serious pipes. Saw many concerts since, but that was one of the best single moments.
1978 Rod dressed and looked gay In the 1980s he looked like a bad ass most people had no clue the guy was gay Anyways Rob's a legend in metal
Killer!
Just classic 80s metal. This one is special
All Hail the Priesthood.
My VOTE goes to Judas Priest for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022
Classic days. Judas Priest never fails to deliver every year all the way to now, but these were simpler days when walking around the mall to the record store was the event of the weekend. Killer memories..
I like how he holds those long high notes with ease. This song is one of the best examples.
"It's easy to go along with the crowd, and find later on that your say ain't allowed...THAT'S the way you find what you've been missin'!"
That's the way you find your Nissan!
Skyline...
I love Rob's physical movements when he sings. He's so emotional. I love just be watching his movements!
me too!!! when I discovered Judas Priest the first thing I paid attention to were Rob's moves
especially the living after midnight video, from there was kinda suspect. but I didnt care he was still bad ass
He's obviously gay judging by his mannerisms and movements. No way people didn't suspect that at the time lol
@@lrn_news9171 Was thinking the same thing. Being a poor kid I never had MTV growing up in the 80s and never saw these videos, so when he came out in the 90s I was a bit shocked, but as I got older and now see these videos, I'm like yeah, it's pretty obvious he is gay. Oh well, who cares, he's still the best metal vocalist of all time IMO.
everything about this song rules
This song is perfection. This is the music of my generation and it gets no better than this.
Golden years 1976 to 1984!
Ademir Souza agreed but it has to be 1975 because Sad Wings of Destiny came out in 75!
Зря ты так говоришь,а что 1990 год pain kiler разьве плохой альбом?Мне кажеться супер!!!!
What? You don't like Rap and other crap modern music? I also miss good old metal music.
☦️ 🇱🇷 Russian music m 1 1975 golden years my God
NAILED IT!!!
Great inspirational song, when you think about it.
This is very true. I always listen to it when I'm going through a rough time. And it helps me.
A lot of there albums have helped me through tough times too!
i think rob knows perfectly how things go in a motorcycle club , so he is a rebel and do it his own way on the road
I know women , who lived this song.
One of the great metal anthems of our times.
I love this Song sooo much !!!
That is pure British Old School Heavy Metal !
Judas Priest and Rob Halford rules this fucking Metal World for eveeeer.....🤘🤘🤘🤘
So it is. Amen. \m/
I started playing guitar in the early 80s and this is one of the first songs i learned. This whole album is amazing.
The way Rob swings his hands back and forth 🤣 I don't know what he is doing , but I like it 🤘
I seriously miss the early 80's. 😕
A very strong, upbeat & motivational song, in my opinion. Also...one of my favorite singles from Priest.
It has gave hope
Rob Halford's jacket rules! Dude, what a amazing tune!
Nagol Canis
GREAT PRIEST!!! TUNE
pipecito2112YYZcol dude there a diy it's technically a Jean jacket cut up from the sleeves and over a shott jacket I had a similar one in 1987. Had It completed When I went to see them live.
amazing pipes. gifted singer.
pipecito2112YYZcol dude i wonder if halford enjoys roadtrips
Despite ‘Point of Entry’ being an overall weird Priest’s album, this song is a true masterpiece. Love it.
The album showed an emotional side of them. 😊
It's patchy but this, Desert Plains and Hot Rockin' are classics.
Classic Dave Holland . A tie underneath his leather jacket. Speaks volumes to me.👍🤘
When music mattered. Daily. Never, ever gets old. Glad I was around when it was first released. It still carries a rush of adrenaline.
Basic simple production, no bullshit in the way--raw. Just perfect.
I like the way you put it !!! 😊
The drums in this song are the truth!
I've always thought that the snare sound in particular is damn near as perfect as can be!
The snare, and everything else the whole track is amazing. was there something special in how this album was recorded? the sound on that one fill near the end is just so cool.
Agree! Some of Dave Holland’s best work imo.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY ROB. STILL BEST VIDEO AND SONG EVER. IM 53 AND I WILL SAY IT. DEFINETLY GOD OF METAL.
Something about Dave Holland on drums, that sound is so Judas Priest!! The beautiful but simple style!!
One of my favourite songs of all times!!
"Everybody Breaks Down Sooner Or Later".......words of wisdom!
The bridge of this song is perfect.
This lineup is freaking perfect! The Beast in their prime!!!
The song is some solid, timeless advice for life. Damn I miss the 80s.
Everyone I knew in the early '80's had this album. I cleaned a lot of weed on it.
it was always good to see how ripped you could get with you mates great times
Beck when a bag of weed was mostly seeds and stems. Ahhh.... The good ole days.
Smoked a lot of weed listening to it....
It must have been great times, simpler times, listening to this. Shame I was a toddler back then.
Like , deserved . ....
The guitar riff rocks for sure...but the drumming is absolutely perfect. Those fills are simple yet I can't get enough of them. Could listen to this song once a day for years.
Me too.
JUDAS PRIEST FOREVER ROCK N ROLL💛💛💛💛💚💚💚
The drums really make this song...and Rob's voice if course
YES, YES, OH WHAT HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES OF 1980-1984. WHEN METAL MUSIC WAS AT IT'S BEST. MTV GENERATION XER'S , YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!.

One of the best...and definitely the loudest concert I've ever seen. Rob Halford came up through a trapdoor on his motorcycle! Simply amazing!
Dad just passed, always will remember the ride back home, blasting for you, pedal to the floor, vodka deep.
Love that album, not one dud or filler on it just 10 perfectly crafted hard rocking tunes. What a classic year in music that was.
Great band.Hope they will be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame one day soon.
And here we are in 2022, in the Hall of Fame.
THEY MADE IT!!!
Makes me cry I want this music back on the radio bring it back may metal live on in our blood our life’s and forever metal live in me
Judas Priest - Rocks !
Rob Halford is a heavy metal dancer!
Only Halford can make dancing in metal look cool
Napoleon Dynamite all the way
He went skinhead early on. Love the man though
And hey, I ain't for show... I'm 40 with long metal hair.
My favorite Judas Priest song!
I like the lyrics to this song. It's about not just going along to get along. You gotta make a stand at some point in your life and just be who you are, or else you will "go along with the crowd only to find out one day your say isn't allowed".
The priest Rock it
Great song. Great guitarists. Great Band.
Damn...They were all so young back then...And t was a little boy when this came out...
Great memories ❤️❤️❤️
That was the first time I listened to Judas Priest...
This album is definitely in my top 5 despite what "people" say. I love it!
You can’t get more Heavyier Metal than Judas Priest! Is the soul of Heavy Metal!
Judas Priest will always be loved in the U.S.!
Classic Priest, man.
The metalist thing you could see on your tv at the time…. Kids today don’t understand.
Yup metal is gone, rust in peace.
One of my favorite songs from the Priest!👍
Their best!
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day…Stay Safe
Brings back memories from high school back in the 80’s. Still rocking out……
Thanks for being here all these years! Been a fan since 1980!!!
Saw their concerts in the state's. The power generated by these guys in the music, the presence & the communication is off the Richter scale. Top flight musicians & who cares about Halfords lifestyle the guy is brilliant!!!!! BON Scott, AC DC , Iron Maiden, Rush all made the summer of 82 perfect.
This is one of the best songs for open country and sun in my face that ive ever heard.
Rob's voice, holy FUCK !
When music actually made sense!!! We were blessed brothas and sistas!!!🤙🔥🤙
Look at the s*it they have now it isn't music at all
If this song is an analogy for life then this song is fucking amazing, and if it isn't it is now to me.
So true..... Some great life lessons in this song if you listen to what's being said, and read between the lines. Excellent song writing for sure!
Yes. I always listen to it when I need motivation! Great song!
exactly
