Gods in polytheism are not selfish, Gods dont demand that their followers must believe in them only to attain Moksha. Every individual will be judged based on his own Karma/ (actions ) which means atheists and non Hindus could also go to heaven. Gods in polytheism dont claim that only they are supreme power and everyone must obey and submit to their rules, infact there r no rules in polytheism.

Hinduism is one of the oldest religion on the earth. They worship the idols as a reference to reach the shunya(nothingness). That's the reason every year they create the idol worship it and after reaching to the point they put it in sea.Its a symbol of the whole process. It's same as we use apple to learn A and once we learn we remove the apple and we get the A.

    Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha
Ganapati is said to reside in the lowest of the chakras , Mooladhara, from where kundalini energy moves up leading to spiritual growth.
Hence Ganapati is worshipped before starting any spiritual activities.
Chanting Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha 108 times in the morning is a great way to start the day on a positive note with His blessings.
We can also chant this during Chaturthi Tithi which occurs twice every month as the tithi is lorded by Shri Ganesh.
Both the Ashada Nakshatras (Purva Ashada / Uttara Ashada) are connected to Ganapati and these Nakshatra natives can benefit through the regular worship of Ganapati.
There is a form of Ganapati connected with each nakshatra and by worshipping the form associated with our janma nakshatra, we may be specifically benefitted.
His worship gives relief from problems related to Ketu.
There is a saying “Kalau Chandi Vinayakau” meaning that in Kali Yuga , the worship of Chandi and Ganapati gives best results
The Beeja of His called "Gam" is very powerful and has been elaborated upon in the Ganapati Atharva Shirsha which is one of the 108 upanishads.
Each akshar has a particular effect, in akshamallika upanishad the effects are given for each akshar
    The Akshar Ga removes obstacles.
Let us chant Om Gam Ganapatye Namaha 108 times daily. It must be chanted loudly and clearly.
    Thanks.

    dear ChupChup,
we Indians - I mean Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Parsis, Jains and yes EVEN our Muslim brothers, never go into tit-for-tat mode when our Gods are insulted. Keeping aside our radical friends ofcourse !
And that is the beauty of our faith and also our civilisation.
There is a reason why we have lived as a civilisation for thousands of years. India has always been the land of gods and shall remain so.As they say, ' Yahaan kan-kan mein Ram baste hain.'
God is one ( "sabka maalik ek hai") - both you and I have been taught this, since we were kids.
Ab jaane bhi do Bandhu !
