Hello dear what a great sound gives the machine,i;am owner of a watkins copicat and two dynacords.it;s a pleasure to listen to the sound thanks. best regards Leendert.
Hi, It's the usual link cable between NG-51 and M-40. Amp sends signal to the echo tape as soon as channel pot is pulled. NG sends echoed signal back to the amp. Note that NG's internal pot has to be fully turned off while using with the M-40 unless dry signal is added to original one in the amp then, giving some unwanted phase. In the final setup, pot has been turned back fully clockwise to get both signals (dry+echo) output to the cabinet.
Following... Yes, that's the way it is. Meral ones are for bias so take care about what you're doing there. Black pots are for gain, you can balance the 3 heads gain there. That said, you should check everything is ok anywhere else before going to the side pots...
Hi, About echo gain, it depends the way you're using the device. Is it plugges to an M40 or to another amp? In this last case you have to care about output DIN cabling. If you solder pin 3 you'll get a weak signal if I remember well. You should have pins 2 (ground) and 1 soldered. First inner pot on left (upper side) lets you adjust input gain. 6 pots on inner right side are for every head gain and bias set up. I don't remember exactly but one pair is reversed, that's strange but that's the way
@theswampland Sold for a while but I've another one currently on auction, have an "Echolette NG-51" search on eBay Germany, it's the one with a video demo... You'll find an Echolette M40 amp on auction too with a very "special" cable, check on "other items" :-)) A third (and last) NG-51 echo tape on auction next thursday... And that's all, I'm just keepin' the other ones! They are versatile devices with unknown capabilities, can be owned for cheap regarding many other amps prices :-)
Really nice echolette, I have one and im not sure why its echos are kind of quiet... I have messed with the trimpots, but they seem to have only a small effect. Can you explain the trimpots on the side?
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have NG51-S, which is mostly working fine, but with one issue - if the 1st delay head is turned down to zero, or in fact anywhere below 2, the unit generates a terrible feedback noise. This stops if the reverb control is turned down to zero, or the reverb duration is turned down below 4. It only seems to involve these 3 pots - head 2 & 3 work perfectly. It happens even with no input connected or output connected. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing it to behave this way? Thanks!
This is normal - it is designed so that when you turn on the first head and apply regeneration it reduces the regeneration from the first head - this is because being the first Head, it is quite bright and has the most powerful regeneration - when you have the first Head on one of the others or all three, most of the regeneration comes form the first head. Consequently if you reduce the volume on the first head with regeneration applied, the regeneration is increased. It is easy to change this. A technician just needs to disconnect a wire from the back of the first head control potentiometer (it is a double gang potentiometer). The first Echolette I had (1963) was second hand and it already had this modification. A very simple procedure to rectify is you don't like it!
It's plugged in the M40 amp, then send return via the DIN cable. The guitar is actually unplugged in the introduction sequence. I guess I shooted it after the demo, it's a long time...
Lovely, thanks so much for sharing this video!

How would you compare the dynacord s62 to the ng51s. Great videos, huge thanks.

I need that.

+cork marchechi you need a schematic i gesstonio
Hello where is your guitar plugged into the echoette since it has no jack input ?
It's plugged in the M40 amp, then send return via the DIN cable. The guitar is actually unplugged in the introduction sequence. I guess I shooted it after the demo, it's a long time...
What intro is that at 4:35
Don't know actually, just some improvisation, maybe vaguely inspired from some townsenesque riff ?
