They are controlled by a midi keyboard like your digital piano for example. But the sound is produced in the software. So do you know if it is possible to loop a virtual piano? Or if you don't know about virtual pianos: Is it possible to connect the output of an interface to a loopstation? :)

No, the looping was all done live with a boss loop pedal at my feet!

Thanks, I recommend any loop pedal made by Boss. Particularly the Boss RC20XL or the RC 50.
