You'd have to be a goose not to have enjoyed this entertaining night at the Slap Inn. Loved the way said goose kept rearing its silly head throughout the proceedings. Great guests (not a goose amongst them), great conversation and great drams. Even the gate crashers at the end managed not to make a complete goose of themselves despite the lateness of the hour and their poultry participation in the quiz. Has to be the best vPub when you're not really having a vPub! Cheers.

I was watching a random travel blog channel on CZcams where she was visiting Campbeltown and their few seconds showing the Cadenhead’s shop shows me and my wife leaving the shop. Very random as I’ve only been to Campbeltown once as an adult.
Wish I’d been awake enough to watch this live. My victorianna has just made its way to my imminent cupboard and have a few other Campbeltown bottles in the queue including some from the Springbank distillery shop….

I managed a lucky 5/10 pass mark but only after changing an answer at the last second. I like the Guess the Bottle game too. Cheers!

I can't now recall on which whisky-related website I read it, but someone asked the swa about the claim that Campbeltown needed to have at least three distilleries in order to remain regarded as a whisky region, and the swa denied there was any truth to that otherwise charming story.
Hey jbar, be great if you could find the website with that claim, it really is a good story and certainly matches the Springbank ethos. Either way it is a great whisky tale. Thanks for watching and tuning it.
Hi Jeff, I quite agree it would be nice to re-find that article. I read it a couple of months ago but the article was not recent, i.e. it would perhaps have been written at least a couple of years prior, if not more.
While it's easy to find iterations of the claim the swa threatened to de-regionalise Campbeltown, I haven't been able to re-find the one that on the contrary claimed such was a myth. Some even claim the swa threat against Campbeltown was made in 1988. That would seem peculiar, though, as I think Campbeltown had just 2 distilleries from the 1930s to the early-2000s, and if the swa "threat" was made in 1988, why did they wait a further 12 years prior to Glengyle's re-opening (2004 but being revived from c.2000)?
Some versions also claim the figure of three distilleries needed to constitute a region was due to the Lowlands region then having three. I'm not sure and could be mistaken, but were there not periods in the 20C when there were fewer than three lowlands distilleries--e.g. Bladnoch was closed 1937-56?
