  • In today’s episode of the I Give An F1 Podcast, Allison and Lynnette discuss the Canadian Grand Prix. It was an exciting weekend with the weather coming into play. We saw a new pole sitter in qualifying and the Mercedes were in the fight for the win alongside McLaren and Redbull. Max Verstappen prevailed in the end, although maybe with a little help from the safety car.
Ferrari had their worst weekend yet, not only with a double DNF, but with a lack of pace as well.

It was a good race, the weather certainly helped. It was nice to see DR do well, but Yuki still would have beaten him if not for the accident, hopefully Daniel can keep it going. Alpine did ok, but I'm glad to see Bruno Famin and Pierre Gasly at Le Mans now, hope they're taking notes from their WEC colleagues because they're being out performed, Alpine looking strong for a new WEC team based on Hyperpole results (Maybe Fred Vasseur will do the same for Ferrari). I wasn't that surprised to see Max do well, he's always good in the wet.
Interesting that Perez resigned at the same time as his two worst results of the year, in a way it was the same story with Yuki, resigned and crashed out. I think Carlos will do better with Williams.
