    I don't understand F1 they wanted to break in to the USA market( U.S money)but don't want a serious American race team . The only reason they are relivent in the U.S is because of Haas and drive to survive

    Hi. that was a great race. Agreed, it was really nice to see Ferrari and Charles get the win, hope they can keep it going and stay in the fight at the front. It's a shame Carlos couldn't stay in second, but the McLarens are obviously still the best cars out there so it wasn't a surprise they managed to get past him. Completely agree with your thoughts on the Lando vs Oscar at the start, if McLaren wanted to start favoring Lando for the championship they should have done it already. Plus in this race they said multiple times in the lead up, and during the race that they were free to race, so I don't think anyone should be getting upset at Oscar. Like any driver that wants to win, Oscar saw a gap, and went for it, I thought it was a great move. Risky, but that opening few corners always has some risk but is also the easiest time to make up some places. Even with Lando's comments and in the cool down room, was obvious he was unhappy, but that's exactly how you'd expect him to feel, he still kept it professional so no problems there either. Good hard racing. Ocar's comments were also great, impressed with how level headed he is when it comes to assessing what goes on in races and his results. Max still for the championship, but, if he keeps having bad results like Monza that might change. It's going to be really interesting to watch, great for us fans. Got to say Perez is doing better since the break, I feel bad for saying this but I'm disappointed to see that, not only because it isn't good for Danny Ric future, but also because we've seen this before from him and I feel like RB get sucked in by it. He's a very inconsistent driver, a string of good races, but then an equally long string of bad races, and RB will struggle to win championships with him being consistently inconsistent. I agree, at this rate RB will struggle to hold on to 2nd in the championship, worst case they could even get overtaken by McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes and end up 4th, massive turn around from the start of the season. For me, I thought Kimi was great, forget the crash, that's not really that important long term. I agree he's a risk, but Mercedes are looking at the longer term future, George will lead the team for 2025 and hopefully be fighting for championships, and Kimi gets a chance to mature and learn. I think Franco was much more interesting and questionable. After the discussion on your IG profile did some digging around to compare Logan vs Franco on their F2 results. To me, it seemed like on paper Logan had the better results so should have been the better driver. Having said that, Franco did ok, but was he better than Logan would have been?? Not sure if he was or not, it was his first race so probably too early to really judge him. I feel like there is a lot of pressure on Franco, I worry that if he has even a single crash he'll get trolled badly online, and more importantly the media will also start asking questions about if replacing Logan was right. Don't take this the wrong way but... Jack Doo Han? who is he? is he Japanese? 🤣... I'm not sure how to explain it, but that's not the right pronunciation. Best way I can think to explain it is the h is silent so more like 'jack do an' but say do an as one word, or doin. Anyway, that's not a criticism, you made me laugh with how you say his name, so don't worry about it. I think out of all the rookies we'll have next year, well I wish I could say Jack, but I think Kimi is the one with the biggest potential given he's in a Merc. Interesting choice for loser of the day being Lando, not saying you're wrong and I understand why, but 3rd isn't a bad result, if not for Ferrari pitstop strategy Lando could easily have been 2nd. For me, I think KMag was the loser of the day given his penalties and now he's banned from the next race. Danny Ric not far behind with penalties too.

    Agree with your comments, it wasn't the most exciting of races. Lando messed up the start but once he got back in the lead it was an easy win from there. I feel like McLaren really messed Oscars race up with the delayed pitstop. There was enough of a gap between Lando and Oscar they could have double stacked them and not lose so much time on track. I honestly feel like Williams don't have much choice with Logan, he's costing them money with too many accidents. I know its harsh, but every time they have to spend money and time repairing cars is time not spent improving the car. I feel sorry for Logan, he did well in F2, but he's not managed to step up to F1 standard. Hopefully he'll land on his feet with a drive in another top category like Indy or WEC, maybe Formula E. Plus I know it would be nice for you to have a US driver to cheer for, hopefully someone else can come through the ranks soon. Followed F1 for a long time and most of that without any Aussies in the field so I know what a difference it makes. Ferrari did have a good race too, was nice to see, but we've seen them have good races before but unable to keep it going. Same for Aston, it was nice to see them further up, but I question if they'll be able to keep that up for the rest of the season, wondering how much longer Alonso will stick around if Aston can't find some speed. I'm certain he still has an eye on the Triple Crown, Indy 500 next, so he can't hang around forever. Pitstops worked out well for Danny Ric with a good finishing position, but oddly they really messed up the race for Yuki, he went backwards. I think Merc will be better next race given the form we saw before the break, for now I'll assume the car just didn't suit the track. McLaren for the constructors, but if Max loses the drivers championship things would have to go horribly wrong for RB. RB is still the second best car, for now. For Oscar v Charles, I'm penciling in Oscar to take it. Looking forward to Monza, and as long as it's a dry race I suspect McLaren will be hoping for 1/2 finish given the speed of the track.

    Interesting that you think Daniel is safe. Based on Helmut's comments going into the break I'm not convinced he is. Helmut reminded everyone that VCARB is the junior team for junior drivers, and they need to get back to that asap. If that's what they want, Daniel is out of a drive. I guess we'll see what happens with Perez, if he continues to under perform there is every chance he'll get replaced, but will the replacement be Daniel, not sure. Still plenty of DR critics around. Don't see how F1 can prevent people talking about F1, they might own the brand name, but they can't stop fans discussing it. I guess if you can't include F1 anywhere in the title it'll have to be a more generic motorsport name, bit difficult for new people to recognise it's an F1 channel. Just a suggestion, and I guess you'd prefer to stay focused on F1, but maybe include a look at up and coming stars from F2 and F3, or cover F1 and WEC since its the top endurance series, or maybe some MotoGP.

  • @EngiocGames
    @EngiocGames Před 18 dny

    I thought the move to Williams was the most obvious one, and I think it'll be good for him and Williams. No guarantees that Ferrari will be competitive in 2025, Lewis joining the team is good, but they still need to come up with a car that's good enough and they've not managed to do that for a while now. As for Logan, no surprise there either, he's not done well enough, he might do better in Indycar, plenty of ex F1 drivers there. Could also go to WEC, plenty of former and even current F1 drivers to have raced in WEC and succeeded, Alonso enjoyed his stint in WEC. Oscar is lucky it healed up quickly enough, but I question how fit he'll be once he actually jumps in a car and all the g-forces that come with that. Hopefully he's all good, he's had a good season so far, hoping for more in the second half of the season, a few more wins would be nice (without team interference). Love to see a return to Africa, didn't see Rwanda coming though, the logical choice would have been Kyalami, but I know it's not up to F1 standards so would need to be updated before it could host a race. Africa being a pretty large continent could easily justify multiple races. Will be interesting to see how that impacts the season because some drivers say its already too long. Sprint Races, agree with your thoughts, I'm not a spring race fan. I don't mind them trying things to spice up the racing, but to me it really dilutes the importance of the main race on Sunday. The racing has been good in the sprints, but I'd prefer it stays limited or even dropped completely. I'd rather see them find ways to spice up the main race, more rules around car aero package so drivers can more easily fight each other, but I think they are messing around too much right now. Andretti, I think congress etc should butt out, none of their business what F1 does. I couldn't really care less about Andretti or GM. There seems to be this assumption that just because GM is big they'll be competitive, and that's not true, Toyota are big and they failed miserably (Honda are much smaller than Toyota, but their record in F1 is far superior). Same goes for Andretti, failed F1 driver (dropped by McLaren after just a few races), and just because he's competitive in other categories doesn't mean he will be in F1. When was the last time a completely new team entered F1??? (Not buying, but starting from scratch) It was a very long time ago anyone did that successfully. I know he's now bought a team, so that changes things, plus I have nothing against him entering. I do accept F1 are really acting like a bunch of elitists, but what do people expect when existing F1 teams have so much power over who else can join, their own self interest means they'll always vote no (As Zac Brown pointed out). Personally, I think they should let Andretti in, and if he fails, well too bad for him, why is F1 so concerned about letting people see a team fail, we've seen plenty of others fail. Seems some idiot at the top has a personal dislike of Andretti so their busy finding every excuse they can to keep Andretti out, F1 being childish. Important to note that the FIA accepted Andretti, it was Liberty that said no. I don't like Liberty Media anyway, I'd like to see them gone. Audi sound like they have some big problems to sort out too. I hope they'll be competitive, but being part of Volkswagen, well the last effort from Porsche under the same banner was a dismal failure, a long time ago, but hope they've remembered how to make an F1 engine. Adrian Newey to Williams :).

    I'm unsure how to feel about what McLaren did. On one hand I'm pleased Oscar got his first win, and the start of the race he was driving better, but what happened at the end really takes the shine off his first win. I would rather see him win purely on merit, if he had cruised up behind Lando at the end I could understand changing positions, but he was falling back. Then again, they should have had Oscar pit first since he was in the lead, and the team allowed Lando to do the undercut, which was also a bit unfair. I can understand what the team were trying to do, protect against RB and Mercs, but most drivers would not have given the place back. I feel like the team really screwed things up for both of them, but I'm sure they weren't intending to make things so awkward, but they did. One thing though, I feel like it's another example of Lando being too much of a nice guy to be a champion, and none of the McLaren drivers of the past would have moved over like that, but that was long before Zac and back then ignoring team orders was normal. Multi championship winning drivers were not nice guys in the car. I'll repeat my main comment on your IG, McLaren were busy defending fresh air, RB and Merc had no chance of beating them. I guess if they keep winning they'll get better at managing the drivers. Perez - sorry but I kind of disagree with you there, I don't think it was a good drive from him, and to be fair even from GR, to me they both made places up based on strategy rather than on track overtakes. I still feel like Perez is struggling, but I'm not convinced RB will make a change. There is no way they'll put Yuki in that seat. I doubt they'll put Liam straight into the top team, and even though I'm sure he'd accept if it was offered, I'm not even sure it would be good for him being under that kind of pressure straight away. That leaves DR, who is doing ok but not spectacular either, maybe they'll take a risk and see if he can do better than Perez. If not DR, then they could get someone else to join, but that then leaves them with the same headache of more drivers than seats. Max caused it, but I'm ok with him not getting a penalty. Sim racing, I don't think that had any impact at all, he's done it many times before, and still won. Each driver prepares in their own way. Driver of the day, for me Lando, he drove the better overall race. Ferrari did ok, but I'm sure they want more than that. I think the main reason why they've invested in Lewis and tried to get AN is they really want their F1 team to be performing at the same level as their WEC team. I'm sure they'd love to win all 4 championships in the same year, especially if that included wins at Monaco, Monza, and Le Mans. I mean winning in sprint and endurance is as good as it gets in motor racing. No doubt RB want the same thing too.

    Best race of the season, the amount of lead changes between Max, the Mercs, and McLarens was excellent. The weather helped of course, more races like that. Interesting news that Adrian Newey has apparently turned Ferrari down, I'd still be amazed if he goes with Aston due to the politics of that team, some suggesting it might be McLaren. I think most people tend to forget he's still with RB for now, even if its mostly focused on their hypercar for WEC. I hope he shocks everyone and goes back to Williams. Agree with the call on McLaren, they really screwed up Oscar by delaying his stop, and they then proceeded to mess it up with Lando too. It's always tough in changing conditions, but they're an experienced team that should know better. Until they messed up the stops McLaren was my pick for the win, but they seem to throw it all away. As for Ferrari, they need a new strategist.

    It was a good race, the weather certainly helped. It was nice to see DR do well, but Yuki still would have beaten him if not for the accident, hopefully Daniel can keep it going. Alpine did ok, but I'm glad to see Bruno Famin and Pierre Gasly at Le Mans now, hope they're taking notes from their WEC colleagues because they're being out performed, Alpine looking strong for a new WEC team based on Hyperpole results (Maybe Fred Vasseur will do the same for Ferrari). I wasn't that surprised to see Max do well, he's always good in the wet. Interesting that Perez resigned at the same time as his two worst results of the year, in a way it was the same story with Yuki, resigned and crashed out. I think Carlos will do better with Williams.

    Hoping Alpine go through with their threat on Ocon and replace him for the Canadian GP with Jack Doohan, would love to see what he can do in an F1 race, he's already shown he's a very capable racer (like his dad in MotoGP) and I think he'd easily out perform Ocon, and possibly out perform Gasly too. Ocon's move was just a really dumb dive bomb on his teammate. Kmag and Perez could both have avoided that accident, so both to blame, and as you said it only puts Perez under more pressure now. I can't find it on any replay footage but during the race coverage while waiting for the restart they showed Christian Horner, Perez and others going to the stewards room, and to me, just reading their faces it kind of looked like Christian was giving Perez a bit of a talking to, like why didn't you give him space. Not saying I'm right, but that's how it looked to me. Hulks comments on his radio said it all about the accident being completely unnecessary.

    Yeah, Imola wasn't that exciting. I think they really need to look at DRS and maybe add a second zone between turns 4 and 6, plus tighten up 6 so they have to brake harder. That would help create more overtaking, so a driver could get really close through the current DRS zone, and if they don't manage to make it they get another run right after so the gains they made don't get lost for another whole lap. Best moment of the weekend was seeing Seb drive Senna's car, although it was only the McLaren Ford, it was nice to hear that noise again. I went to my first F1 race in 85 and during the turbo era, then in the late 80's naturally aspirated era with Ferrari V12's, Honda and Renault V10's, nothing beats that sound. RB doesn't need to be worried yet, I like McLaren but I'll wait to see how they perform on the tighter twisty circuits like Monaco before I believe they're truly back and in the hunt for consistent wins. I'll be happy if they prove me wrong though. Plus, you're right, this puts more pressure on Perez. It won't be Danny Ric to replace him, question is exactly who would they pick, I think Liam is ready but it's pretty rare for Helmut to promote a new driver straight into the top team, in a way I'd love to see them pick Yuki because I'd enjoy watching the F1 world have a meltdown over it. And I enjoy seeing you both on youtube, and I don't use spotify or any cloud systems so I'm glad you're here.

      Seb’s tribute was great and everything else he dodged with the drivers throughout the weekend! The thing for rebull is now with the performance of Mclaren is that it gives them no room for error with Perez not performing as he should. so that is one thing thy should worry about. Rumors say they’ve offered Perez a 1 year so it seems like the 3 guys waiting for that seat will have to wait longer or move on. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😀

    Max was so close to having his race ended right at the start with that move from Perez, very lucky he didn't hit Max. Still, in a way I count it as a good move from Perez because that's what allowed Oscar to get past, and the first half of the race was excellent from him, getting past both Ferrari's and holding down P2 for a long time. I don't really blame Carlos though, for me I count it as what happens sometimes when two people race hard like that, and Oscar has plenty to look forward to once he has the full upgrade package. KMag is one of those guys that doesn't seem to learn from mistakes. All drivers, even Max, are overly aggressive when they first come into F1, but as we see with Max he learned that it's not enough to be fast/aggressive, he learned to control that aggression and use his head too. Max's race awareness is second to none these days, but KMag still hasn't learned that lesson, and I suspect he never will. I like aggressive drivers, but he regularly takes it too far to the detriment of his own race. I agree with your comments on Lando, he's a really nice guy, easy to like, and it was great to see him get his first race win. It'll be interesting to see if he's able to keep it going, he's been close multiple times but keeps finding ways to throw it away. Like you, I love Lando, but I question if he'll ever be able to win a championship, I hope he proves me wrong because he deserves success, but I often feel like maybe he's too nice. To be honest, I also question if McLaren really has what it takes to string wins together, but again I'll be happy if they prove me wrong. Danny Ric, agreed, a real mixed weekend from him. Sprint was excellent, but his race was average. I was pleased with his post race comments though, he realised the real issue was messing up qualifying and being so far back in the first place, and I think that's right. He knows what he needs to do, fingers are crossed he'll fix his problems and have a better weekend at Imola. I don't think he deserves loser of the weekend, he's not a winner, but he was far from being the only one that was complaining about tires in qualifying, and that compromised his race. Yuki did well, but for me, it was still nothing spectacular. He did a better job in qualifying, and then moved up a bit as a result of the safety car, so he kind of got lucky. I like him though, so hopefully he can stay positive, I think he lets his emotions get the better of him, and although the start of the season has been good for him I question if he can sustain it. Perez, again, very lucky at the start, not a great weekend from him. He's had a solid start to the season, but as is often the case he struggles to sustain it over the season, and cracks are starting to appear. Well, I do love Imola too, and would love to go there, but it's not my top track. My list of tracks/events would be: Nürburgring 24 hours Circuit de la Sarthe 24 hours WEC Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps F1 and WEC Monza F1 and WEC Monaco F1 Imola F1 and WEC Macau F3 Interlagos F1 Indianapolis 500 Suzuka F1

    Apparently Newey will stop working on the F1 car effective immediately, so I wonder how soon his absence will start to impact their performance. Maybe as early as the final races of the season? Earlier? 2025? Not till 2026?

    • @igiveanf1
      @igiveanf1 Před 4 měsíci

      Probably not much until after 2026. They have a great team that have been working under Newey and we can imagine they’ve learned so much from him and how he thinks.

    At Neweys' age, I would hope to see him focus on his other interests. He has a love for boating, and he still does racing himself. I think his best choice is retirement from F1.

    Adrian Newey to VRB??? 😀. I'd actually like to see him go to Williams, I see it as a similar thing to how M. Schumacher went to Ferrari when they were struggling in the 90's and helped lift them back up to being the best, it'd be nice to see a guy like Newey help a struggling team get back to the front, but I know it's very unlikely. I think most likely he'd go to Mercedes, Ferrari, or Aston, maybe McLaren to finally get them back to the top. Personally, I think it would be a mistake to Stroll into Aston for obvious reasons, I'd question if a guy like Newey would be interested in dealing with all the political BS at Aston. Nico was a good deal, not entirely surprising to sign an experienced driver like Nico to a new team, but I'll be surprised if their next signing isn't someone younger as a longer-term investment. I think Carlos best bet is RB if Max leaves, or maybe he could be a replacement for Perez if he can't sustain his current performance level. Edit: Actually, I'll add one more note. If I was Liam Lawson I'd be making sure my manager is talking to Audi. Right now he's warming a seat in the garage waiting for someone else to fail so he can get in a car. A young talent like that could be exactly what Audi want for the second seat in their team.

      If Lance wasn’t there he might actually consider AM and be able to work with Fernando but feel like that could be the 1 thing stopping him from going there. For sure it would be interesting to see him try and get another team to the top, even though he would just be ONE of the (major) pieces. Yes, Hopefully Liam has a backup plan with another team just in case!

    Max is a Dutch ordinary guy, he is always honest and says what he thinks. Not everyone can appreciate this. He is a real driver who doesn't care about celebrities etc. He arrives at the paddock with his backpack puts on his overalls and goes racing. When he is at home he goes sim racing, there he is also among the best top three in the world. He doesn't care about fashion or anything. Yes, sometimes he gets booed, but then says "go home and have a nice evening with your self," whatever that means....
