- In the Mogami video we focused on island cover. In this one we focus on avoiding crossfires, isolating the target you focus and maintaining angling at all times, even if in the center of the map.

Flamu, how about an Agir game?? You talked about an aggressive Battlecruiser. Would love to have your take on the ship
Epicenter can be pretty annoying, I always start the match on it by telling my team to always keeps ships in the caps, because it prevent the enemy from capping them. As for how you played the ship there.. It is very similar to how I play the Brindisi and many other cruisers, making myself a target that's hard to get any good damage on and in return being annoying to ships that present themselves as targets that are easy to get damage on. But it require that you have a good spotter that is making a push an unattractive option.
The difference between how you played the Brindisi there and how I play it is that I don't sit still as much as you did, I tend to roam around a good deal when playing, other than that there's not much difference in our playstyles on that ship.

After your first positioning video I felt inspired, and took the Marblehead out for a spin. First match I was slapped with tier seven MM. At the start an enemy potato Gneisenau literally said in chat: dibs on the Marblehead. I wound up with just over 90k damage and came in first place. 8D
Over the years your videos have helped take my destroyer and cruiser win rates up to almost 60% and my pitiful 51% overall to just over 57%. Thank you for helping me be less potato lol.

I'm 100% agree with the sumary, even with all the theory, without some practice and reflections, what the ship can do and cannot do, the risks of some maps and enemy ships. If you can recognize errors and learn you'll be above average in less than you think. The best sign of that is when you insead of saying "trash team" in every loss in some ocasions you will say "i could have carried this" and that is the best behaviour you can have

As a DD main I wanted to say thanks for emphasizing focus on the objective and supporting the DD.
Great vid Flamu, I'm so glad you emphasised the importance of getting epicentre control early, too many players fight outside the objective.

Playing cruisers helped me a lot about positioning when i started ages ago, and it's valuable for all classes.
Watching these videos, and playing more cruiser, has REALLY helped my BB play.

Thanks for doing these Flamu. While playing in NA yesterday I could IMMEDIATELY tell who had seen this and the Mogami vid, and who hadn't.
It was a good reality check for all cruiser players who think if you aren't firing, you are doing something wrong. Reiterated that holding your fire to get angles or just not making yourself a target is important.

I adopted the IJN duking shot method because, to be honest I'm still trying to get used to the Italian ships even though I've gotten through to tier 9.
next time I'm on wows ill try this out and hopefully don't do a full potato.

the Italians are nice to provide close support to DDs, you always have a oneshot potential against enemy DDs and you have your "oh shit" smoke :)

i got one epicenter match in this map, where no one from either team died (not a single ship sunk) , and we lost.
Honestly i have been playing with some Italian cruisers and i am on Amalfi,and i must say i like them,because they can really cause some harm during the very start of the match and at the end where you can attack DD's and then finish off what is alive at the end

Some great advice here - far too many rage at the rest of their team, rather than looking at themselves, and learning from their mistakes.
Nice, but GL doing that in something like a Zao with a FDR or MVR CV in the game. The theory is great but fairly team dependant.
I only really play Clan battles now so not quite as relevant for that, will definitely help people who play randoms though.
What would be helpful is a guide on throttle jukeing.

Second thing, I'd really like to see an Azuma or Yoshino gameplay to teach people how not just blue line or straight being blapped while torping full broadside. Playing Alaska Russian or Germans ships is quite straightforward and well represented on youtube

would love to see a petro game since im playing in the SEA server and i'm struggling to get into positions where my ship could shine. either i rush in get focused and die or i stay too far back where my shells are inaccurate and ineffective, so i'm looking to improve my gameplay here.
I brawled a Kremlin and Vanguard in my Alaska a few weeks ago and won. All the other ships on my flank got killed leaving me alone against two battlehsips. Kremlin rushed to get on my starboard while the vanguard stayed to port. Managed to stay angled to both, made it look like I was gonna ram Kremlin while spamming him with HE, juked at the last second and used Halsey's Rapid Loader and Master Marksman to bring my rear turret around and citadel him at bad breath distance, then rushed down the Vanguard and finished him off with AP. The Tirpitz that was on my flank, who must have been a new player, asked if Alaska was a battleship. I said I felt like one.
Question: is that reset shiplines and regrind it, get a better version of same ship still in the game? And Elite modules, where do you get them?
no, you get research points that you can spend for unique ships (currently Paolo Emilio, Siegfried, Colbert, Slava and Ohio) or you can use them to buy unique upgrades (if that's what you mean with "elite modules"

If that had been me at 1:33 I would have been focused by every BB in the game while making that turn
and with 2 enemies aiming at him, but nobody shoots during the turn because he's Flamu.

@@Federicox6 no they not cut your cooldown! but prolong the consumable effect for 10% example heal ticking for 27S after talent it become 30 S so you can squeeze more health, more smoke time ,and longer plane flight time.

Hey Flamu, I'd like to see you play the Kidd again. In the previous Friesland commentary you said that you don't know how is the Kidd holdin up with it's nerfed AA. As a dd, carrier is a huge threat. Only ships like Kidd, Friesland and Daring can deal with them. So I'd like to know what you think about the Kidd in it's current state

If you are stucked, then it is your fault for not planning "if failed" plan
These kind of cruisers can be dealed with by bbs, the smoke cant be used forever and has a pretty long cooldown
focus fire+crossfire, force them out the position
problem is that it requires teamplay, which is incredibly rare in randoms
@@dukkducc a single bb with half a brain could make the life of a cruiser in this position way harder, although a crossfire would be more effective, like you said, it requires teamplay :)

yes but in a cv game he would not have stayed angled and stationary like that. He would have been moving and kiting, which the italian cruisers are awesome at. It just would not have been much of an useful guide since most cruiser players all they do is kite and farm damage
Seeing how cruiser sap performs I'm actually a bit worried what's gonna happen when they throw bb:s with sap into the mix 😂

question: what exactly is the difference between Italian SAP and British short-fuse AP?
Short-fuse AP means that it has a normal pen value, but once it does pen it blows up early. SAP straight-up won't even pen and just shatters, while Brittish AP will still pen but wont cause as much damage as regular AP, even if it had enough pen to citadel the target.
Functionally the same, only actual difference is the bounce angles on SAP being generally better and that SAP can't citadel because it blows up on contact like HE and short-fuse AP still penetrates into the armor instead of blowing up on contact
@@gioshuecortes4319 Even HE can citadel a target, SAP definitely can do it as well.
TL;DR, Short Fuse AP can hjt superstructure and it will be pen which yield better damage and can deal citadel if needed.
SAP act simillar but can't damage citadel (mostly)
@@MasterChiefSamus it hits surafce citadels, as in the ones that are literally the hull or pretty much the hull, prettymmuch citadels that have 0 armor protecting it like Omaha or anything below tier 3

So... Quick question... Why was there a New Mexico and Queen Elizabeth in a Tier 9 game?
Failed Div..this is not as bad as the one i experinced. 10-9-9 div vs 9-9 div and we managed to be matched with a few T7s. I was playing Massa. MM aside, this doesn't really work well with ITA CA below T9. Crappy stern that you can still get citadeled despite being angled. It's a surprisingly similar thing with RU CA below T8

feel like we're playing a different brindisi, every shot regardless of my angling will citadel or is a full pen. Doesn't matter where it hits... Still get an average of 90k damage but I also get focused immediately like a tier 9 pensacola.
Turret angles have a much bigger impact than armor can have by far - change my mind

True. His replay analysis most does not include CV games. Even the Mogami positioning video he uploaded didn't have CV in the game. So, what to do when there are CVs in the game is a question for me too :(
@@sameerkharade7750 Try to play in a same way, will work for 20 seconds from the start of the match, after that the cv spots you and as you are japanese ship, he will kill you if he wants to and there is nothing you can do about it.

Anyone else find it really weird how they didn't give RN heavy cruisers SAP? I'm pretty sure that all of the AP that those cruisers use was actually SAP historically, hence the shit pen. I'm pretty certain that the 8 inch guns were only issued with SAP for anti armour because 8 inch SAP gave enough pen against cruisers and gave more damage than AP

Flamu i recommend u to start using Modstation, it's way better then using torps to understand if someone is moving or not and plus it contains a lot of useful mods for shotting and gather info on enemy ships
he will not use mods because then all the noobs and haters will say "oh he is just good because of mods"

Yea, just grinded through the brindi, she's fun, but when RNG hates you, angles don't mean shit. I've been citadell'd every fkn angle including 180 degrees straight from the rear.
Just got out of a match where a republique took 45k of my hp in 1 salvo at about a 15 degree angle in a venezia. Don't know exact angle, but he was waaaay farther back than my front turrets could turn.
BTW, what's the plan when there's a CV and HE spamming bitch around?
@Flamu, can you do a Des Moines vid? I have a 60% winrate with my Des Moins but i only have 100k avarage damage per game. I think positioning is my biggest problem, i always push caps to radar for my team but most of the times that means taking damage and not doing any thanks in advance. Ofcourse I also want to increase my winrate but some games are just impossible to win on my own
You just have no luck...
Or sometimes you are late in the party, so you can't farm damage at the end of the match.

Lately i have been doing 180k plus games but i never seem to reach the magical 200k number. Maybe i'm just not a good DM captain thats another option

As a CV player, my priority is:
1. Loner ship
2. Weak AA ship
3. Islander
4. Overpushed
5. DD
6. CL
7. CA
8. BB
Islander is the most annoying one, if the CV can push it out from the island, my team will have more freedom.
After that, I'll get lots of report for doing my CV jobs, lol

@@Dominus_Potatus yea if you use CA like petro, nevsky, or other CA that can stay in the open. Try wooster or des moine. I can manage if there are no CV using island for cover and move slowly so only 1 enemy that can see me. Doesn't work with CV that can spot you 10km away

Because CV can't go agressive all the timeand lose lots of planes at the first 10 minutes.
When a T6 Queen Elizabeth is top 4 in experience in his team of T7-9 and gets almost twice as much exp as the T9 Riga and the T9 Kitakaze lol

The thing is that in many ships, you cannot become self sufficient. Examples are US ships. They are heavily team reliant. Like Italian and Japanese ships are good solo warriors. But many aren't. So yeah if you have shitty teammates, you get a shitty game usually.
