    #Suzuki 1000 gt . The new Suzuki GSX S 1000 GT is selling out as fast as they can be imported. This sports tourer has hit the Kawasaki Ninja sx on the chin and is set to take motorcycle travel in a speedier direction. The #adventure bike market is as strong as ever however, this new Suzuki gt sports touring motorcycle is fast attracting ex sports bike riders back
    to this genre.

    I have now done 1700 miles on the new Suzuki 1000 gt A few points 1. the brakes are poor no feeling what so ever 2. seat after 100 miles is painful 3. tyres are average at best Got my bike on the 4/4/2022 Ordered on the 5/10/2021 still waiting on luggage phoned Suzuki still waiting on an answer not good Its a great bike the engine is fantastic

      @36moto  Před 2 lety

      Wow,that is not good. I’m surprised you can’t get the panniers even... and I take the point about the brakes, the one I rode had a similar feel, it needed a Lot of pull on the lever ... I suspected a bit of contamination on the pads / discs but it seems OST riders are feeling the same thing.
      hopefully things sort them selves out for you pal, especially after waiting all that time for the bike. too.

    Very good review. Thanks a lot! I've been riding a Kawasaki ER5 for 16 years , 90% daily use and it's time for me to change. For what I've watched in your video the handling of this Suzuki in town seemed to be very easy and comfortable. I was almost decided on the Suzuki GSX1000S naked for daily use mainly in town but suddenly the GT appeared on the horizon and the price difference is not so significant ... What's your opinion? Any imput will be highly appreciated.Thanks in advance and saludos desde Gran Canaria. España

    You mentioned about the rear seat, I took my mrs from her house to the dealer, about 3 miles and she said it was the most uncomfortable hard seat she’d been on, and we’d done a few days on my previous 1000f and she managed it! I’ve an airhawk pillion pad il have to fit when she’s on the back. It’s def not a 2 up touring bike, which is a real own goal for Suzuki

      Thanks pal, it’s good to get some feedback like this, hope the air hawk sorts things... Suzuki are generally very good but this bike is built to a budget and perhaps they have focused on the sports tag more, have a good summer on the bike hopefully we can all get some good days out.

    Great Review -
    Looks: a lot of modern bikes look 'pre-crashed' - all ragged edges - I cannot see the aesthetic in them.
    Maybe its because I am poor - but how is this better *Value* than a clean £2,000 used Blackbird?
    All those gadgets would fascinate me. Like...the ABS. lol

    • @36moto
      @36moto  Před 2 lety

      Do you know what, you talk sense... a 20 year old Honda Blackbird is still relevant today, and it would probably out drag the new Suzuki very easily, plus the Honda has a centre stand. However, Having Ridden a Honda BB years ago, I reckon the Suzuki has the edge in many little ways which sum up to a more modern lighter efficiency.
      Speaking metaphorically The Honda is the aircraft carrier to Suzuki’s frigate...
      might make a good review though.

    I test rode the gt last week and have to agree the engine is incredible and it rides really well , I did however have a real issue with the brakes , the lever felt really firm and even using alot of lever pressure didn't feel like it was stopping the bike , shame as I was ready to put my order in , if you have an explanation and fix for this issue I'd love to hear your thoughts, great review, you've gained a new subscriber

    • @36moto
      @36moto  Před 2 lety +4

      +Robert Wildman, well, the brake issue was a bit of an own goal, either Suzuki or the cleaner in the shop had been a little enthusiastic with the sparkle polish prior to the ride, there was a thin film of it on the discs( the floral smell gave it away) so the pads were subsequently contaminated too, probably. Sweet words of advice were given... once sorted with a decent dose of brake cleaner the problem went away.
      I ran the bike out again the next day after the brakes had been sorted and it was spot on... plenty of feel and stopping power. If I were in the market for a sports touring bike with no adventure bike or off road trails in the mix it would be a contender, definitely.
      Thanks for the feedback and for subscribing, it all helps.
      Cheers.

      mmmm there's a question, I currently run an aging 1150 gsa and as much as I love it for its versatility it lacks that sporst bike thrill. the Suzuki gt clearly has a bit of Gsxr in it.
      if you are a road rider and like a sportier stance then the GT has it. if you demand all round capability with the Adventure Bike thing then Its a GS... then there's the money thing, buying the Suzuki (new) is like a 15k 2year old used 1250.gs. like I said its a good question' i think riders are moving back from adv bikes because if you don't neen to go off road why buy an off roader, its a fashion statement. try and get a ride on both and the one you should get will be the bike that makes you smile... both are fantastic bikes, good luck, its not a bad choice to be considering, cheers, pls subscribe and tune in again.

    I'm contemplating between gsxs1000gt and the gsxr1000r. I don't do track, just daily ride to and from work. I really like the look of the gsxr1000r but the GT has more comfort and has longer range, better fuel economy. it's gonna be my first suzuki bike...what should I choose??I can't make a decision

    • @36moto
      @36moto  Před 2 lety +1

      Crikey, what a question, now there’s a choice, if the Gt is a Range Rover sport , the GSXR is the Aston Martin vantage. These bikes share a badge but may as well be from different tribes... I had a 2005 K5 GSXR 1000 (and did 13000 miles in 12 months on-it, loved it.... one of the best road going sports bikes ever. - and that 17year old bike would arguably leave the new GT standing today, and the new GSXR 1000 is better still. If you like performance and looks, and a sports bike feel perhaps you have to scratch that GSXR 1000 itch. The GSXR might not be winning races on track but it’s still up there with sports bike glitterati.... The GT is a much more practical everyday bike that is plenty fast enough to entertain but it’s built as an allrounder, the GSXR is not an allrounder, it’s a race bike with lights.... to this day I regret selling my K5, but i don’t miss it when I’m 200 miles into a days ride... but it’s a gixser 1000, everyone should have a GSXR at some stage, it’s an iconic bike... the GSXS GT will do distance and fun... and to and from work. So, ask yourself this, if you are riding to work on the GT and a new GSXR 1000 goes by what are you going to say to yourself... ? Mmmm “right back at ya....”

    • @bittersweethood
      @bittersweethood Před 2 lety +1

      @@36moto thanks for the lengthy reply. I do feel like the GT is gonna be better for me for everyday use. But like you said, there's an itch for the GSXR, and I probably won't ever own a legendary GSXR in a very long time if I chose the GT, and the one available for me is the 100th anniversary version from the dealer...
      If I'm on a GT riding to work and I saw a gsxr1000r. I wouldn't feel so bad I guess, cause I have more comfort, and the GT has a lot of poise. But I would be thinking what it's like to ride that gsxr
      Vice versa, if I'm on the GSXR and saw a GT, I would think that, yea that's a nice bike, maybe it's better if I should have that instead. But hell im on a gsxr😎 something like that..

Regarding your observations, I use a top box on my bike regularly but its a personal choice, as for the shaft drive, the GSXS 1000gt isn't a shaft drive bike but I do agree that a touring bike aught to have a centre stand, but a look under the bike shows there is no space to fit it, its all the euro exhaust rubbish and as Suzuki have placed the bike towards the sportier end of the touring mkt I can forgive them. This bike actually appears in the "Sport" category on the Suzuki web site.. next to the Busa which i sort of feel is appropriate. cheers for commenting, one of the best things about bikes is we all like what we like...
