They are original songs but are written by other people, they have only one song that was written by Maddison Reyes (Julie) and Charlie (Luke the guy with the beanie) called “Perfect harmony “

Kenny Ortega directed this and High school musical But this isn’t a musical and has ghosts. Funny enough that didn’t teleport here but they can. And the songs were written by writers mostly except for one that Madison ( Julie) and Charlie ( Luke/boy in beanie) wrote. They are also writing songs for season two.( Netflix hurry up) I love this show. Madison is so talented. Carrie and Julie have a feud. She’s the mean girl but we don’t know why.
They didn't teleport here because they couldn't. They were actually there i think,but everytime they stop playing music they disapear. Julie could probably still see them but they were invisible to every one else.

The show has all original songs. It’s amazing, you should definantly watch it😊
the three guy, Luke, Alex and Reggie are ghosts and they were in band together before they died. When they came as a ghost they figured out that the only person who can see them is Julie. They couldn't seen without Julie while they're singing/performing so they made a group together. All of them has a great voice, i hope netflix makes a second season
Good news it’s in the making but because of Covid it had been pushed back in and are shooting for 2022 for it to be out
Something that makes this show even better is that the actors can actually sing and play their instruments. They were even talking about going on tour which is super cool

The boys had their own band in 1995 called Sunset Curve, but they died eating hot dogs right before a big gig :D They practised in Julies Garage and she finds an old LP and while listening to one of their songs they appear again. Soon discover that people can hear them play and even see them when they are playing with Julie. So they are forming a new band "Julie and the Phantoms". Right here they are having a little concert in front of her garage because they had a greater gig before, but Julies Dad interrupted a conversation between Julie and a music agent and so he wanted to make up for this! He is filming so they can upload their performance on youtube! Also: Julie told everyone that the boys are Holograms :D
i think all the songs made for the show and the people who plays julie and luke wrote a song together for the show. I especially love "Stand Tall" and "Unsaid Emily"
Charlie and Madison (Julie and Luke) wrote Perfect Harmony, another song from the show. Probably if they adk what it's my favorite song, I can't choose because they are all REALLY good!! If you watch the show, you will probably cry with Unsaid Emily

The phantoms are a band from the 90s who died from food poisoning the band was Sunset Curve. They came back 25 years later as ghosts when Julie played their CD. When Julie sings the ghosts can be seen/ heard that's why they show up when she is singing. I agree I love how they teleport the show calls it's poofing in it's so cool to watch.
They all play instruments plus sing in the show and in real life. Julie / Luke played by Madison and Charlie wrote a song for the show called Perfect Harmony. I'm not sure who writes all the songs for the show but whoever did is a genius also Kenny Ortega directed the show from HSM.
The reason why Carrie is acting so mad is she and Julie used to be friends they had a falling out we don't why. Julie didn't sing for a year after she lost her mom for some reason Carrie stopped being her friend. Also, Carrie likes the guy who's dancing Nick he was her boyfriend but he leaves her because he likes Julie and Carrie was being to mean.
Julie likes the lead guitar player Luke but he is a ghost so we still hope somehow it can work. They are at Julie's garage performing because her dad and best friend Flynn set it up. It was done so the band can put a video on youtube and get noticed by managers.
Watch the show! It's great. I'm almost 29 and loved it.
Kenny Ortega did this & Kenny has done many of things like directed& choreographed High School Musical movies, Descendants movies, even was director for Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert, Michael Jackson concerts, he choreographed dirty dancing, he directed Hocus Pocus so many things. her dad is making a CZcams video for their band so they can get out there. So they performed in julies back yard where her moms old studio was. they invited people from her school and Carrie and Julie have a small feud and she invited herself.

So basically this whole performance is a garage party because in the episode before Julie snuck out to do a gig with her band because her dad grounded her. And so in this episode they are preforming the garage party because her dad feels bad for not letting her finish talking to a manager in the episode before this one (which this episode is I believe the 6th or the 7th it’s called “edge or great”)
This show is basically about 3 guys from a old 90s band call sunset curve but after eating some bad hotdogs they apparently died until Julie finds there cd in her dead moms garage and then they basically come out of nowhere I guess she brought them back but apparently her moms garage was there old garage when they were younger so they basically try to help Julie get back in the music industry so there basically ghost or phantoms hint the name but yeah that’s all I can really say without spoiling the show haha but the teleporting thing is when they basically everytime she goes and plays the band pops up but since the world would be shook if they found out they were ghost she says they are holograms
Harmony is actually the only one that I know of that Charlie Gillespie and the character of Julie wrote together

So the girl singing is Julie and the phantoms are Luke (beanie guy), Alex (drummer), Regie (the one with the leather jacket), the point is that the three guys are ghosts, that can only be seen when they are performing music with Julie, and the only person that can see then if their not singing is Julie.

This show was inspired by a brazilian TV show from 2013. I'm brazilian but i didn't actually see the show at the time. I just watched this one,the american one. And it's really fun,i looked up on youtube for the one in my language,in my country,and it's also good. It's weird to us here in brazil,cause a lot of people loved this show,and i know a friend that was obssesed with it. It's weird for us to see the whole world now knowing Julie. I'm really hoping a happy ending for the couples in this one,cause in ours here...it wasn't very good...

I’m sure this has been said already but here I go.. things to know...
All the actors play their own instruments. It’s a proper band that they have hopes of touring.
Music is written for the show. One of the songs Perfect Harmony is written by the two lead actors.
One of those actors Maddison Reyes who plays Julie is sixteen and this is her first project ever.
I’d recommend watching the show but if you want a clue on what it’s about react to Flying Solo.
The show is worth checking out. It starts off a bit cheesy (made for preteen/teens) but levels out and it’s very fun. Also nothing wrong with cheesy. The music is great.

If you watch the show you’ll figure out what the shows about... and fun fact Kenny Ortega helped produce the show so there are some elements that look like high school musical i the show but it’s still its own plot and storyline.. also two of the actors were from another project Kenny helped work on which was the Disney movie series desendants.... the actor who played Jay is in it and the actor who played Hades is in this as well

Original songs not written by the cast but genuinely performed by them. The three boys are in fact ghosts who can only be seen when they are performing with Julie. They are performing in front of the garage because Julies dad set up a party at their house and is using his photography/film skills to help her make a video to upload to give the band exposure.
The angry/mean girl is Carrie. She and Julie used to be friends but had some sort of falling out. She and the dude next to her broke up and she thinks he has a crush on Julie. Carrie also wants to be a famous singer and has a girl group but thinks Julie gets everything handed to her.
Still hard to believe the actress for Julie was only 16 when she did this show.

Some of the clips do give away spoilers for the show, so if you are planning to watch, I would suggest watching the show and pausing when it’s time for a song and doing your reactions then.

Also, there’s a few Behind the Band segments on Netflix that give insight on how the show was made, including the rehearsal and recording process. They had professional songwriters and vocal coaches work with them, but the actors had a lot of input in the process (like the solo guitar riff you saw in this clip came from Charlie Gillespie during filming) and the actors who play Julie and Luke (Madison Reyes and Charlie Gillespie) wrote Perfect Harmony all on their own.
Kenny Ortega put this show/band together with the goal to have them go on tour and they have been writing their own music together during quarantine in hopes for a second season so it’s possible there will be more original songs from them in the future.
The songs are mostly written for them, but Julie and Luke wrote the song perfect harmony themselves.
