The traditional American breakfast is similar to a full English. Eggs, toast, bacon, often with hash browns or fried potatoes of some sort. Bacon might be substituted with ham or sausage. Pancakes might be subbed for toast. Most people don't eat it anymore. Maybe on a weekend or in a diner. Biscuits and gravy is a southern thing, but you'll find it in greasy spoon cafes more or less everywhere in the US.

There’s also waffles, oatmeal, grits, muffins, and a bunch of other things.

Part of the reason people eat a full English breakfast on a weekend is you're gonna need time to digest all of it, also it replenishes all that energy you lose working during the week, it's like refilling the gas tank. One of the best tips ever given to me was that if you are getting a cold or the flu, eat a big meal like this while you are still able and that gives your body max reserves to fight the infection, it boosts your immune system.
