I live in Australia. Our government is currently trying to pass a bill to prevent people from Iran, Iraq, Russia, South Sudan and Mozambican ever coming to Australia . This is because these countries refuse to take failed asylum seekers back. These are people that have served jail sentences for serious crimes. Desperate situations call desperate measures. Bottom line is surely any governments duty of care lies in protecting the people that elected it?
It’s time the definition of what constitutes a refugee was updated to reflect the many changes since its inception in 1951. It was initially meant for political asylum only but has been allowed to morph into much more and is being exploited by lawyers, some charity groups, people smugglers and the people that enter a country by irregular means. The west simply cannot accept that wants to come. And people are starting to rise up.

Notice they pick one of the rare women that come to the UK Where I live we have hotels full of migrants and they are all young men, why didn't they settle in some of the countries they passed through. The police have got their hands tied, they cannot detain them unless they can prove who they are. It should be on the migrant to prove who they are if not they should be detained, Build detention centres not give free hotel accommodation, food, clothing, and mobile phones.
