    I have these in the Boulder Tools brand. It takes a little over 5 minutes to air down to my set pressure. But if you drill the relief hole with a 5/64 drill bit it will cut that air down time to less than 3 minutes.

    Hi Dino, I'm looking for a compressor right now and trying to decide on a size. Do you remember how quick the Smittybilt 7181 inflated your tires (bigger than my 255/75 R17) from about 20 to 30 PSI? I want to save as much weight as possible by choosing a smaller compressor but I also don't want to spend 20 minutes or so for inflating the tires.

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  Před rokem +1

      Hey Gryff, I don't remember the actual time it took to re-inflate my larger tires, but with the larger Smittybilt air compressor, I was VERY satisfied with the speed. It's crazy heavy, but I think you would not be as satisfied if you went for a lesser air compressor. Good luck with your choice.

When off road in sand or difficult traction situations i would drop to 12 PSI. For many year i was running 30 inch Mickey Thompsons or Cooper tires. I might have had a Goodyear tire in there once which i believe was on the CJ-5 when i purchased it almost 50 years ago. I never blew a bead at 12 PSI but it can happen.
