- Funeral services were held for Patrick Lyoya Friday, 18 days after he was shot and killed by a Grand Rapids police officer, with civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton calling on the hundreds of people assembled to demand justice and national police reform. (April 22, 2022)
When you fight authority, authority always wins. Just comply, if the cop is dirty, fight in court not the street.

That was a eulogy? He spoke for half an hour and hardly mentioned the deceased. Aren't you supposed talk about the person, his character, his accomplishments, what kind of life he lived, how he impacted his community and all that sort of thing? Al rambled on for quite a while about his own life, but didn't say anything about the life of the man they're all there to remember.

I watched the entire sideshow with dismay and disgust.. yet at times i thought it was an actual parody and i was the last one in on the joke.
They had a platform, they could have done something useful, they could have reminded stubborn young men how to act when being pulled over. They could have acknowledged the epidemic in scofflaw attitudes and shown a modicum of respect for this nation of laws.
