    Orozco-Estrada really lives all the music that he directs. Quite intensively as one can see by his gestures and facial expressions. In this way (and other) he is quite unique in the world I think.

    When an orchestra is formed by fine and excellent musicians, besides all of them soloists as we have certified during COVID-19 crisis, we can enjoy a performance like this: pure and clean sound which is a great pleasure, correct conduction and excellent filming and recording.
    And Schubert very classic but romantic though.

    Wonderful! It's been too long since you've posted one of your concerts and what a lovely program of lieder and symphonies. I've posted this observation many times but your woodwinds are amazing both as individual soloists and as a harmonized unit. It's interesting to see the clarinets and bassoons sitting opposite the way you usually find them with the bassoons on the conductor's right and the clarinets on the left.

    • @verdiguy
      @verdiguy Před 5 lety +5

      Thank you for replying. Keeping the darker tones of the orchestra together is a really interesting idea. I've seen some innovative seating arrangements for Schubert's symphonies over the years. Ivan Fischer had the winds sitting in front of the strings for a performance of the 8th (the Great not the Unfinished) with the Berlin Philharmonic earlier this year and the clarity of the playing was superb. The winds carry so much of Schubert's melodies that it was inspired choice. Maybe Maestro Orozco-Estrada might give it some thought. In any event, as a clarinet player, I think your wind section is first-class. Thanks again for the insight and as always, for the beautiful music and hours of enjoyment.

    Schubert's 3rd is one of the worst symphonies ever written! After a passable 1st mvt., the remaining mvts. are terribly repetitious , banal and silly. As it progresses, it gets worse and worse as the finale gets increasingly more bogged down in an ants-in-the-pants 4 note bludgeon.
