Always a treat to watch Maestro Järvi lead the Tonhalle-Orchester, especially with one of my favourites in the symphonic repertoire. The first movement is full of joy while final movement echoes the Midsummer Night's Dream in various ways, each movement has it's own drama and story to tell but not compromising the coherence in terms of form. I would one day like to be in the hall watching Maestro's rehearsal, if I ever would have the chance to do so.... 🧡🌻

Love the conductor and orchestra. I visited their website and they have photos of all the musicians and a few bios as well. Great music beautifully presented from a world class organization. What a gift to all of us. The flautist spoke about the excitement of playing for Paavo because he will go places with the music that haven't been rehearsed. She laughs at the joy of it all. Looks like they're having fun! The woman concertmaster has held the position for 22 years. Amazing. Thanks.

Surprised he took the allegro that fast. I love the recording of Järvi conducting this with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony. He wasn’t so fast out of the gate on that one.
