I swear...the most beautiful this is when you are taking off at night and as you get up to a high altitude you start to see the sunrise before the people on the ground and the opposite too when you fly in a bright sky then land on a dark ground...and the best thing to do to pass time...is just standing in the airport...waiting for someone you love
A pretty cool story is back when Concorde was flying, because it travelled faster than the earth rotated, it meant that if you set off from Heathrow in the evening, the sun would seem like the sun rose in the west.
@@Kingpin.jr2 Also, that approach is a complicated SOIA procedure. They converge onto the same localizer then the 28R plane turns right to line up with 28R.
hhe 0070 true. Once I was on a united plane coming back from Maryland and there were babies constantly screaming non-stop the whole entire flight... it was horrible.
Too bad you couldn’t see the two planes ✈️ actually touch down together. Having lived in the Bay Area (Walnut Creek) for over 27 years, I have watched a few parallel landings and they are awesome. Never seen them at night though. Love driving over the San Matteo Bridge and see the planes coming in real low overhead. Nice 👍 video - thanks for sharing.
Wow! There are United planes landing at San Francisco Airport by doing a Parallel Landing. What you're flying on United is an Airbus A319. THAT WAS COOL!!!
It's not exactly parallel, as you can see the plane getting closer. One of the approaching aircraft will be slightly offset, like a V shape extending out the runways. And the plane behind (usually the heavier one) will have to keep the plan in visual contact. It's so delicate and complex, and so awesome. Great upload
They can be side by side. No offset needed for aircraft in the same weight class. If there’s a heavy involved then we’ll offset. The goal is to have them touch down at the same time so the tower can launch departures off the crossing runways in between arrivals.
I would trust all those pilots with my life, you know those runways are only 750ft apart, one mistake and it's game over!....but they are flawless...big respect! love it, great video
Must be some pretty crisp vectoring by air traffic control as well.. 😂 pilots are cool and all. With their tans, and sunglasses. But there’s some pale dude sitting in a dark windowless room telling them where to go and assigning speeds to make these sidebys work. 👍
they are under strict monitoring, if an aircraft deviates off course even by a couple of inches, the plane its veering towards is told to break off the approach and go around.. its still insane though
anyone else notice a UFO around 7:28 appear above the grey cloud on the it moves swiftly in the opposite directions the two plane are flying and vanishes at around 7:36 then it reappears again at around 7:42 that now confirms that we ain't alone in this universe
Sorry, I couldn't see it before, but than I looked at the small grey cloud towards my upper left...... I think that's um...... I think that's a um.......... yeah, to be honest with you, I think whoever designed that was not from this planet, no military aircraft can disappear like that, only an alien aircraft can. Also, we're not alone, the universe is too big for us to be alone ☺
Looks Cool Landing My Favorite Part Is The Trasteveres On The Engines Opening To Slam The Breaks Same On The Wings Also, I Love To Hear The Tires Coming Down You Can Hear The Engines Shutting Down At The Gate
For those who don't know, this is a SOIA approach, the reason the original plane is first is because the other plane has to have visual on the original plane and runway or they will be told to go around. This is until they are on course for the runway . Bad ass flying for both pilots
The pilot in the other plane: I wanna land, I wanna land and be the first. Gotta impress the girls. Pilot in the original plane: Let's take the approach nice and easy, absolutely no rush at all ............. mmmmm nice and smooth landing just like the ladies like it.
love it! our country have 1 runway in majority of its airport so I was surprised to see this. Also, love the landing..it's smooth. in our country..you'll pray to God and if you can kneel, go kneel and ask for the plane to stop and hold the breaks...runways here are not as huge there.
A go around for both aircraft would have been a very interesting scenario for ATC to handle, but I'm guessing they simply would have been vectored on opposite tracks.
Most likely they’d only send 1 around. But if they both went around the traffic for 28R would be issued runway hading and the 28L traffic would be issued a vector to the south. At least 15 degrees, but probably a 250-260. Unless the approach controller wants to just swing them back around for another approach, then they might get a 180 up to 4000. 👍
SFO is famous for this

I can't believe you let him win!
tjperez69 who had a smoother TD though that's what matters when they're one after the other like that
tjperez69 Slow and steady wins the race xD
He was heavier and landing speed was faster

This is the first landing video I've seen that doesn't have the constant squealing of demon-spawn in a booster seat
hahaha nice one, lol :D

break the window and throw that shit directly into the engine where it will be shredded into soup.

This is so funny to see two planes landing at almost the same time!
It happens every day at SFO multiple times (but then you probably know that).
Absolutely beautiful!
I would trust all those pilots with my life, you know those runways are only 750ft apart, one mistake and it's game over!....but they are flawless...big respect! love it, great video
Theres a lot of procedures for these types of landing. Also pilots have to be certified for it as well

This is actually two visual approaches. 👍 SOIA isnt used at SFO anymore.
That was a loud and powerful landing!
I feel this would calm my fear, just having something to look at and distract myself

Flying Parallel: Airbus 320 United Airlines from Chicago, Ill.
Starting at 10:50 Airbus 340-600 Lufthansa to Munich, Germany.
How do you know?
I wonder how fabulous the view from the other plane had looked like since it was ahead

Is this landing at sunset or sunrise? Pretty neat.
Did you see the asiana airlines 214?
Very impressive! Wouldn't be allowed here in Europe this Way :-(
Im going to San Fransisco this January to watch a NBA GAME im ridin united as well
6:50 NANI!
Nice shot dude. Anybody know why wake turbulence is an issue on TO but not on close side by side landing?
Johnny Mitch Because wake turbulence falls behind the aircraft, not shoot out the sides...

Loved it EPIC
the other plane was definitely an A320, which explains why it's landing speed was higher than yours.
has nothing to do with it, it all comes down to how heavy you are, If you have a bigger payload you need a faster approach.
They were both a320s
