  • Just a quick note to apologize for the edit and sound errors on tonight's episode. We had to make the call to upload with them and be on time or delay the episode.
So if we are on time and you hear me repeat myself, you know why.
    Thanks, Mitto Xx

Brilliant show man, thanks for putting the effort in to bring us this excellent content,, and big thumbs up for having a fellow Irish man on the show, dave has put his life into the Irish drifting scene and dosent get enough recognition for this

Great Interesting episode . Specially about the scene in Europe , we managed to follow a driver in 2018 and its the most icredible drift event the feeling around the pits the banter , teams coming together even if they were battling each other absolutely amazing !!

I think the quality of the content is more important then meeting deadlines..
this video is now up for anyone to watch forever so if it was an hour or a day late then no biggy everyone will still watch.
if I were you I’d make sure I’m putting out the best quality that you can.. the audio wasn’t a big issue tonight either so don’t be down about it. Very enjoyable as always

Tommy honestly, I wanted to start again. I think it part of the reason I’ve never done all this before, I wind myself up too much 🙈

Well the sun is out, fridge is stocked, the garden booming and another day of confinement and whatta you know a new DRIFT CRASH video pops up! As a brand new Drift and tuning fan (The Craig Taylor LS swap and a Papadakis engine build kick started this about a month ago) and its since spiraled out of control-Haha. I apologize Mitto due the substantial amount of material I've been reviewing lately not only did I take for granted that you we're British, but I had no idea of your standing in the Drift community. Growing up my step father owned a BMW shop in the heart of Silicon Valley long before Apple and the like. Simpler times- every summer the family would go up to N. California, Oregon, and Idaho and he would race his BMW Tii in SCCA hillclimbs. One of his customers (a fat Japanese/American 520i driver) owned the Shogun Benny Hana style restaurant right around the corner from our house so we were there seemingly every week. The hillclimbs eventually turned into local SCCA club races at Laguna Seca and the former Sears Point (now Sonoma Raceway). A few years later he would be traveling around the country racing Corvettes in the Escort/Playboy Enduro Series. We would also go to all The IMSA races as well and I can still remember seeing David Hobbs towering in the pits one minute, and the next flying around the corner in his BMW E21 turbo spitting fire! Those were also the days of being mesmerized as a kid by the battles of Senna and Mansell in the streets of Monaco on T.V. with Murray Walker and James Hunt commentating. It was truly an incredible era for motor racing! Sadly, today for me with the exception of the Isle of Man TT all of it seems rather vapid. On that note, someone needs to tell the old Lizard Lady that before she goes to that big Masonic Temple in the sky that if your going to be handing out England's most prestigious title on golfers and kite-surfing spaces setters then humble John McGuiness needs to be recoginized as one of your country's most talented and courageous icons!
So I here I am watching the latest JDM Masters video the other day featuring Bee Racing and an interview of Kiyonori Imai and I'm thinking this is really cool that this guy is exposing one of the Sensei's of Japanese Tuning. Then up pops The DW Outsiders movie in my feed (which I'd never heard of before) and there you are not only in the opening scene but also doing an interview of Imai San a full decade before this other guy! Its fantastic that you have now started your own channel- the episodes have been very informative, articulate, and have a dose of John "shut up Manuel!" Cleese humor that let's everyone know you don't take yourself too seriously. I also really like the fact that you are focusing on learning and what that means. There was a book published several years ago by John Waitzkin titled "The Art of Learning". John was a prodigal child chess champion who would later become a Tai Chi Chuan Push Hands World Champion. For the last decade or so he's been in NYC studying under Marcelo Garcia (considered by many to be the greatest No-Gi Grappler of all time). This is the opening line from his book:
"One has to investigate the principle of one thing or one event exhaustively.... Things and the self are goverened by the same principle. If you understand one, you understand the other, for the truth within and the truth without are identical"
    - Er Cheng Yishu, 11th century
I've been surfing for the past 35 years and to this day I'm still learning new things- trying to perfect. Also as a father who has split custody (and I'm sure a lot of parents can relate) its not always easy to connect with your kids if they're not with you every day. How do you light that spark in a child to really want to learn about something? On a recent trip to the US my daughter asked me to buy her a Kanji book and I was pretty surprised. This will be her third language as I have always spoken English to her and they speak French here in school. During this confinement I've been sending her all of the links on drifting in Japan and tuning culture and the response has been amazing! Now I'm getting "Hey Dad that video on The Tomei Workshop was really cool or I'm interested in learning CAD to make carbon fiber molds or wow that Nakamura really shreds!". On a personal level its like not only is the style of driving is amazing and inspiring but can I eventually explain complex technical engineering concepts in Japanese? And now with this world paradigm shift that has occurred in the last couple months its really reinforced my decision to move to Japan with my new fiancee and continue to learn more about this incredible movement. Thank you for the inspiration and I hope it provides a bit of encouragement to keep going with this channel- looking forward to you getting 100K subscribers!

There was certainly a lot to digest this week Mitto.
Probably going to be quite a bit of speculation over special guests at Riga now.
I’ve only done a handful of drift days but other drivers come across as genuinely nice and supportive, the cliquey types are predominantly online only. I’ve never been made to feel bad for being a learner.

That's what it's all about! Can be a bit overwhelming turning up at a drift day if you have never been before but at the end of the day everyone started somewhere, no-one woke up one morning being able to backward entry lol.
