I had a 66 SS 396 that was a 402 ci displacement that ate most muscle cars for breakfast and lunch on the street. An L34 from the factory custom order with all of the goodies. Took on a 440 Roadrunner and a 427 Vet owned by a Police man. It's a lot up to the driver.
Love the sound of that exhaust system, it is the best sound ever. Looks like one of the Dusters I used to have except my exhaust had turn-downs under the front seats ,and man was it loud......but I loved it . Thanks for sharing your Duster with the amazing sounding exhaust tone!
I had a 1970 340 Duster with 3 speed on the floor. It was a plain Jane with latterly no options. It ran like a scalded dog! No decals so it looked like 6 cylinder duster. It was fun!
My dad gave me my grandfathers 1976 Dodge Dart swinger. It’s a Forrest green with a matching interior and at one point, it had a white vinyl roof on too. It’s only a slant six automatic though but I still love the car
Nice Mopar!!👍👊 I’ve had classic cars and muscle cars since 1988 when I was 16. Sold my last one in spring of 2019 when I bought a bigger house. I recently made a video on my channel in memory of it. My next one will probably be a Duster, 71 or 73 (don’t like the tail lights on the 72). Hopefully my finances will allow me to buy one in spring of 2023, I really miss the nostalgic feel of being behind the wheel of 60s and 70s power. 💪There is nothing like it.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. I wish I could say it was mine but it’s actually my stepdads. He’s had it for about 20 years. When he first got it, it was a beige color and it only had a slant six in it. But as you can see, with enough love and time he turned it into one hell of a car

The gentleman that bought it from put a 340 in it with a sassy grass paint job and a 340 stripe. Now it's a 10 second stock appearing all out race sleeper with all the factory parts

My dad had bought it in Missouri for $90 from a friend of his with the slant six knocking bad. He drove all the way from Missouri to Ohio and parked it at my grandpas place. My grandpa sold it to a friend, the friend put a brand new slant six in it( as new as you can get with a slant six anyways) and then he sold it back to my grandpa and it’s sat for 18 years. After my grandpa passed, my dad gave it to me. I wanna paint it sublime green with the swinger decals on the back and I wanna put a 68 barracuda hood scoop on it. I’d also like to either get a 383 or a 440 for it. That’s the plan anyways
a little cold blooded I never got tired of a Chrysler starter sound, trick I learned press the accelerator to the floor release it holds it down apox 1/4 or less and turn the key, now keeping it running till it got warm thats the fun
@@austindraa8868 I learned how to drive on a 70 my girl friends dad tweeked that 318 to the max nothing could beat it, I bought a 74 it had one drive belt no p/s, no air, 4 sp. duel exhaust beautiful blue with a white 340 style stripe drove it all over the NW till some idiot in a semi ran me over as a Plymouth man I still love the starter sound of a Chrysler my Newport made the same sound
Well at least the steering column didn't rip completely out if the Firewall. I worked on way too many of those back in the day. Wouldn't be surprised if the Firewall is brazed on that one too.
There are time where we have to mess with the wiring in the steering column to get it to start. One minute it’s running beautifully, then we stop to get something to eat, come out and it won’t start. Such was the case at a Wendy’s. We eventually got it but it was very annoying
@austindraa8868 is it actually in the column, or corrosion in the junction block ?? I had a '73 Charger SE, half of everything in the junction block was fried and it started when it wanted to.

The best/ most inexpensive way to remedy this, is to install a throttle-body electronic fuel injection system, which can be done in your garage on a weekend. Then taking it to a shop with a dynamometer to fine tune it, would maximize the engine's performance & efficiency potential. Too easy!
That's because you have to wake beasts up you don't just sit there with your little tuners and turn the key in it starts right away. You punks wouldn't even know how to start one even with about twenty cranks😉

The "partial" vinyl roof was what Plymouth called a canopy vinyl roof. They offered that, and a full vinyl roof.

It was the first start of the year. It started moderately quick after that
That not super cold but supersitting float bowl probably went dry and a whole lot more that was probably many months without being turned over.
