Over the past 40 years, when I drive over the Bay Bridge, it mostly as a means to get from SF to the East Bay. When I drive over the Golden Gate Bridge, it’s much more than just getting to Marin. I wish you would have mentioned that the Bay Bridge coolness factor went way up when the night lights were added (and kept) on the SF to Treasure Island span.
Ah the lights at night! I noticed them after I had already shot most of the video and didn't have time to add that in. But the lights at night do up the cool factor.

Another reason it is iconic is the Golden Gate Bridge has a unique profile for a suspension bridge. The two towers are further out from the center than a typical suspension bridge. As a result the towers are also taller.

My nanna used to tell us stories of crossing that bridge! She only did it once though, she was being taken to San Quentin state prison. She did 4 years for grand larceny! Anyway, cool bridge!
