Dutch: Thinks he's the cool dad
Hosea: Is the cool dad
Spockitans Dutch was a narcissistic man, driven by pride. Hosea was reasonable and genuinely cared about people.
Stop talking bullshit about me. I have a plan.
Just have some Goddamn Faith!
Yas
Dutch was like the cool uncle who let's you know some "short cuts" in life. Then either loses faith in himself or falls in with the wrong crowd.
*Hosea is everyones dad*
Yep
oh, Orthur.
Donald Trump lies
He is my dad
@@jimmilton7513 don't you " Oh, Orthur me. "
Abigail: Oh, I'd be lost without him.
Arthur: I guess we all would.
😭😭😭 And that they were. 💔
My sentiments exactly. Was about to write a very similar comment then came across yours. I don't need to now. Thank you, friend.

I like to think Hosea got Abigail to escape from the Pinkertons before he was captured by Milton, completing his redemption arc and letting him be with Bessie again.
Hosea was dying. He knew it, he even said it. He was sick, as evidenced by the coughing. Milton just brought him to the end quicker.
@@terminallumbago6465 jim milton
why am I crying in the saloon rn?
I think it likely that Hosea helped Abigail get away too.
Terminal Lumbago Would’ve preferred he die peacefully rather than murdered by a freaking PINKERTON.
Abigail killed Milton ( the man who killed her father figure).
Ahmad Saleem That’s why she says “ Horrible man.”
Red Dead Redemption 3 play as Abigail
Aaron something Her whole entire story was told in parts 1 and 2 . part 2 showed us she wants nothing to do with the outlaw life because she was so focused on caring for Jack and making sure he didn’t become another outlaw. Hosea was the backbone to this gang. The gangs decline began as soon as Milton shot him.
Edit: I never seen so many likes since Leicester won the prem😂
When Hosea died the gangs backbone broke like if u agree 😢
shot him in the backbone..
Well, the decline began when Dutch shot that innocent woman in Blackwater. Dutch was the very fabric of the gang, and his descent brought them with him. However I feel the gang could have stayed strong through the loss of Dutch, but the failure of the Saint Denis heist with the death of Hosea was the turning point, where the gang was doomed.
Don’t forget our boy ynneL on that Saint Denis bank job
J. Jonah Jameson there’s not just one decline.
He probably gave his life to help her escape in Saint Denis.
It's exactly something Hosea would do.
Nah Abigail was the rat and betrayed him on the spot.
DODO MCGuy dumb dodo
Hosea was to Abigail what Arthur was to John
They both made a sacrifice to help them live
They both knew they were dead anyways, and wanted to go out having created as much good as possible
@@dodomcguy5831 uhh no
It hurt me when Lenny screamed "Hosea! They shot Hosea!" during the bank heist, the two wanted to be buried with friends, they were next to another.😭
Once Hosea met his demise, everything went to hell. Hosea was the heart of the gang.
Hosea says early in the game that he doesn't care where he's buried when he dies, so long as it's next to a friend.
If I recall correctly Sadie and Charles stole their bodies from the police and buried them next to one another, so there wish was met in the end
@@ryanmitchell7347 yeah u can find their graves in the swamps north of St Denis. Lenny and Hosea next to each otjer
After Hosea and Lenny got killed I hated Saint Denis and Dutch. Dutch's plan always goes wrong 🤦🏽♀️
I hate your name be one person or another don't try and be 2 people at once
Hosea was an excellent character, and was introduced perfectly. Even though he is a new character it seems as if you’ve known him 20 years like Arthur. It just feels like he was always a major part of the gang and one of the first members. even though we only knew him as such for a short while.
Even going back over some of these scenes, I'm always taken by how well they did with Hosea's character. I could truly believe that this man lived a full 50 years before we met him, lovely writing. Listening to him recollect some of their old adventures were some of my favorite bits in the game.
Lenny checking on Hosea like the good boah he is.
@El Mitcho on god as soon as I got back and you slaughter Pinkerton's I killed basically all of them in rage lmao
I think that's randomized, because in my playthrough, it was actually Pearson that patted him on the back. I swear, I'm not making this up
@@simple-commentator-not-rea7345 yeah, I had Micah pat on Hosea one time!
@@the212thproductions9 yo wtf actually?
@@squidward9747 yeah for real! When watching the encounter I thought Lenny would come up and pat lenny and I was gobsmacked that Micah of all people would pat him. So it is randomised though I prefer if it’s Lenny canonically doing it
00:20 When Abigail asks Hosea how he's doing he says "About how I look". Later in the game as Arthur starts to succumb to TB, during one of his last conversations with Strauss he is asked how he's doing and he also says "About how I look". He got it from Hosea in this moment
It's a common phrase.
Like @Outlaw said,its a common phrase
I JUST REALISED HOSEA ONCE SAYS "yes" AND ARTHUR ALSO SAYS THE SAME THING IN CHAPTER 6. WOW THE RIGHTING IN THIS GAME IS ON POINT
Remember how Hosea coughed a lot in this game? Well, in chapter 5 and 6 after Hosea dies, Arthur can be seen doing the same thing. The writing is perfect.
Arthur acts a lot like Hosea after Chapter 4, especially in Chapter 6. He really looked up to Hosea
Damn, invisible ninjas chopping onions
This line is so overused it stopped being funny
@@ladymariaoftheastralclockt9210 Meh first time I saw it, so it was amusing
It's still funny, cause it is the first time I saw it.
The people who hate Abigail and theorize that she was working with Micah the whole time need to watch little moments like this.
Are we not going to talk about how cute Lenny’s walk is?
I miss them all so much..
Even micah?
@@rossmcneill8559
Hell no! Fuck Micah
I miss micah
I'm not gay.....
I miss when I was still questioning how and when Dutch goes sour in chapter 2. Chapter 2 those were the days
In Arthur's journal, he says that in many ways, he loved Hosea even more than Dutch because of how kind and fair he was.
We need a third button just dedicated to telling another charater how much we love them.
Except Micah, all he gets is a 'crotch shot' button
And a clean kick in the balls
😆
Then Arthur would say something like this to Sean, "You're an annoying bastard but you're also like a brother to me"
"I'd be lost without him"
"I think we all would be lost without him"
*hosea dies*
"HAVE FAITH ARTHUR WHERES THE LOYALTY STOP DOUBTING JOHNS A RAT"
I appreciate how you take the time out of your day to find dialogues like these, bro. You a true one.
Won’t be long before MrClickbaitFTW finds this and re-title it probably as “You will not believe Hosea and Abigail had a hidden bond. SECRET OUTCOME!”
No it will be something like
*Hosea and abigail secret mission... hosea survives???* with circles and arrows in the thumbnail and buried treasure with circles and arrows pointing at it
And a damn 10-15min video wasting our time
Starting with "Hey what's up guys this mrclickbaitftw here to waist your time on ugly merch and stupid gameplay details I'll point out until I tell you that Hosea dies anyway because of the writing."
Fuck that guy and his piece of shit waste of time videos lol. The worst kind of CZcamsr.
SaberRexZealot I can't stand these dudes either man, they make a living off purposely wasting people's time with nonsense
The way Arthur chuckles when Hosea says "aleast we wont be lonely"
I imagine that Hosea and Lenny went to Heaven, met Bessie, had a drink, and as soon as Arthur joined them and walked into the Heavenly saloon, reuniting with Isaac and holding him in his arms, he'd look over his shoulder and scream.... *HAHA FOUND YA LENNNNNNAYYYY*
Don't forget about Eliza (Arthur's lover and Isaac's mother), as well as the rest of the Van Der Linde gang except Micah. Also I doubt that there is alcohol in heaven.

You get a thumbs up for math proficiency from me.
Along with Arthur and there is your and mine top 3
"I'd be lost without him"
"Heh, I guess we all would"
The gang started going downhill right after Hosea died. Foreshadowing.
"Jack's going to be fine, you'll be fine."
Damn dude 💔. My heart (T ^ T)
HomiePopTart23 Well He was right, notice he didn’t say that John would be alright, the foreshadowing is deep.
Abagail died a few years after john so she wasn’t really alright
The coolest part of these dialogues is that each line has a cutaway for when Arthur interrupts
I love how Lenny stands up and checks on Hosea, cause he don't stop coughing.
Yeah, its so sweet of him
I my latest playthrough it was Sean who gave Hosea a friendly pat :)
Lenny even coming in to check on him was beautiful
RDR2 really made me come to love Abigail as a character. In 1, we only got so much time with her and a lot of it was her being understandably pretty harsh and mad at John. Seeing what she went through in 2, being the only woman at that camp trying to raise a child in a healthy, not training him to be a professional criminal, way, doing it herself for the most part and dealing with a creep like Micah hitting on her every chance he got, not to mention the friendship she had with Arthur, it humanized her, along with so many of the other members of camp, so well. I didn't just see her as tough, pushy ex-prostitute farmer's wife and I ended up feeling really badly for how she struggled.
I definitely share a lot of the same thoughts as you. Abigail in RDR had some sweet moments but mainly seemed a bit of a flat character of “wife who loves her husband but is mad he keeps fucking up”. They development she got in RDR2 was just showing us the character Rockstar intended in the first place
1:20 Lenny is literally the nicest person in the gang
I think Hosea was really touched when she said he was like a father to her.
Saddest deaths in RDR 2 for me were: Hosea, Arthur, Lenny, Sean.
"I'm gonna miss that crazy bastard... He was like an annoying little brother to me, I sure am gonna miss him..."
His death pissed me off... I did not go easy on those feckin Gray's.

At least he died faster than slower.
Everyone knows dying slower is more painful than faster.
Wouldn't live that long, knowing by coughing a lot.
Still a shitty way to go, shot like a dog by that asshole Milton in the middle of the street :/
Tommy Vercetti when I killed Milton I used dual wield Mauser pistols and shot him 25 time's everywhere
@@user-tc5br2wx8f How were you able to play as Abigail though?
I felt like the way that Lenny just randomly walked about in that positive style and just patted Hosea was wholesome af.
This game keeps breaking and warming My heart, oh Hosea... The greatest dad to exist
Hosea was like a father to the players
This is like the best one I've seen. So much character and relationships shown in just a few minutes
The whole gang freaking started in the first place when he and Dutch planned on robbing each other. He had the plans, Dutch had the vision. Without Hosea, Dutch would go insane trying to keep his vision without any foolproof plan. As for what would’ve happened if Dutch died, Hosea would’ve been able to keep the gang together, but I don’t know of any negative effects other than Dutch’s death would cause a LARGE morale drop.
If Dutch died and Hosea took over, the gang would be fine, as Hosea will kick Micah out and Arthur and the rest of the gang will be happy. The one who should've died in the bank robbery is Dutch not Hosea.
1:48 Is so freaking cute, Literally Hosea Was the father of some of the gang members, Just the way Hosea and arthur laughed at the joke just seemed so wholesome and cute
*Arthur gets involved*
Abigail: aight, imma head out
I hope there'll be a game where we get to play as Hosea.

"at least we won't be lonely" oh boy it killed me 😢😢😢😢
1:15 respect to Lenny
There's so much to discover in this game
“I’m ready” bro my heart
Hosea is the dad of the whole gang and like a older brother to Dutch trying to talk him out of his bad decision and trying to advice him on what to do
hosea such a honorable outlaw just like arthur 💚
I just witnessed this in my playthrough, but it was Sean who came by to give Hosea a friendly pat instead of Lenny. Such sweet boys :)
It’s so sweet when Lenny came over to comfort Hosea ❤ love how everyone loves him. The gang died along with him at that bank
Hosea is my role model for when I get old.
I love how Lenny came right over to check on hosea when he coughed. Just goes to show how many people loved him.
jesus that npc work is splendid! when hosea coughs and lenny is just walking by and stops to pat him on the shoulder (1:12). the best game rockstar made yet!
***SPOILER***
Anyone notice that Hosea and Arthur say the same thing when they’re sick. Hosea told Abigail he felt “the same as he looked”
and when Strauss asks Arthur how he is in a mission after being diagnosed with TB he says he feels “how he looks”. Just a little something I noticed.
1:15 lenny: we gonna die at the same day old man
Definitely my favorite character in the game. That's why it would be interesting to have another game that portrays the beginning of the "Old Guard" and the formation of the gang.
These interactions are awesome
If you read Arthur's journal he says near the beginning that he loves Hosea like a father more than Dutch😥😪😢😭
I relate to Arthur because I also just stand by and watch while other people have conversations
Hosea: grand dad
Dutch: dad
Arthur: 1st child
Hosea is a dad and also considerable as a caring mother figure. He cares about everyone’s health and tries to keep everyone and the gang together. Just like how a mother’d want to keep the family together. Hosea was more than just a father
Hosea 😭❤️
This is why I love RDR2! I had no idea that this was even a chance encounter!
Loved this crew, Abigail, Tilly, Hosea, Lenny, Sadie!
I opened up a second save file just so I could stay at Horseshoe Overlook forever. Those are the game's "good old days", and it's like heaven when you finish the entirety of the game on your original save file
He reminds me of my papa old and sweet but willing to defend his loved ones
That foreshadowing tho
Look at Lenny struttin' lol
Hosea reminds me a lot of my grandpa, both supportive and wise. This game has incredible characters...
When said hes ready to go I honestly cried bruh
Hosea was one of the best character and being the father figure of the gang . His demise was truly painful and things eventually start to fall apart.
Hosea is such a nice and agreeble man 🥲
Am I the only one who feels like Hosea has TB?
Nah probably from years of smoking and old age
Very possible that Hosea does have TB. It was common in the Old West due to poor sanitation, lack of proper medicine, etc.
i don´t know but i think he´s sick beacause in the begging of chapter 2 he said something like I just want people safe Dutch " i don´t have much time"
@@ray_velcoro1049 Hosea talks about his failing health at Colter, at the very start of the game.
Nah, most likely COPD or even lung cancer than TB. I mean, TB took a man like Arthur in less than a year, if Hosea had it then he couldn't have possibly made it past Colter.
When the gang lost Hosea they turned heartless and savage, but hell when they lost Arthur they turned insane
1:06-1:12 Hosea is right, like always
The foreshadowing just smacks you in the face here
Some foreshadowing rite there
these hints of hidden dialogues of Hosea are really pleasant. i've always liked Hosea, even Arthur wrote in his journal on how he respected Hosea so much. his choice of outfits are not as rugged as other camp folks or as gaudy as Dutch's.
Her killing Milton was a great play out just from this dialogue.
Hosea: *dies*
Abigail: _He was like a father to me_
I loved him like my son
Wow that last bit hurts
I love how most people in the group (the sane ones) all want to preserve the one goodness in the gang which is family
ALSO: imagine a gang with Hosea, Arthur, John, Jack, Abigail, Sean, and Lenny. It would be such 🤌🏼
Hosea was like a father to me! I loved him like my son😭😭😭😭😭😭
Hosea was the definitely the gang’s dad for sure. He cared about everyone (except Micah of course lol)
Game of every year to come
Hosea knew well beforehand that he didn't have long to live, and you can tell he spent every moment he had alone thinking about the way he lived his life, and about his coming end. He decided he would spend his final days taking care of the people he cherished, like trying to give the Marston's the best chance at being a normal family someday. He's a lot like Arthur, in that sense, when he underwent his emotional and mental transition later in the game.
Hosea death was the saddest in my opinion he was an old man and the way he walked away from Milton and looked back made me sick this game really knew how to tell a story that touch you it was less whacky gta and more heartfelt great game prob the best made so far m
Abigail: “I’d be lost without him”
Arthur: “I guess we all would”
Hosea: “I die for like 5 minutes and it all goes to shit”
Hosea is such a great man nearly as Arthur doesn’t matter if they are outlaws
I love how Lenny checked on Hosea when he coughed showed real compassion
1:12
When I was playing, Lenny didn't helped Hosea there, but Uncle xD
Lenny just emerging from the grass.
Oh the feels
Dutch May have been the leader of the Gang, but Hosea was the heart, the soul, hell the backbone. During the missions there was always just something admired about a conman like that, no not a conman, a father figure
RIP Hosea Matthews and Lenny Summers:/
Hosea was the glue that kept that gang together.
He was everybody’s father 😢
