depending on your age group nightlife is brilliant for younger but daytime is great too if you want to see the city and enjoy the pubs and places to eat and of course the many shops
Toxteth isn't rough, it's not 1981 anymore for gods sake
I’m a well travelled Liverpudlian and I can categorically state that Toxteth is no different to any other area of any other city in this country, just like you said, London had huge deprivation just as my city. The rougher areas of the city is where you find the most genuine people.
Antisocial minority ruin it for the rest.
Fellow Liverpudlian there are WAAAAY worse areas than Toxteth. All the north end is horrible.

100% agree mate. I lived in Aigburth as a kid and seen the mess the area was left in after the riot. A lot of work has gone into the area but there’s still a million more miles to go.
If you want to see really rough places, go up around Wigan or Blackpool. Far worse than anywhere here, lack of employment, ruined housing stock from under investment, rife with drugs etc.
We’re very lucky here to have such beautiful buildings and parks.

Being from Liverpool myself, most people are friendly here, you’ll obviously get a few people who will be annoying or they’ll be like kids with ballies on, thinking they’re all hard, but other than that most people are genuine and nice up here
Most of the kids with bellies just sit on the steps around town no of them ever do shit they just shout stuff absolute sausages

I've done a triple, paid £18, 35 minutes cycling, all were on route. Very rare still.

Agree with people saying Cardiff and Bristol. Two smaller city centres but loads of probably hungover students in both. Both easy and pretty quick from London too

Toxteth isn’t as bad as it used to be, there’s certainly more dodgy areas elsewhere. I used to live in Kensington (very student) nothing like the one in London 😅 has its moments. You’ll find the majority of scousers friendly and welcoming only a few let the City down. Whatever you do, don’t buy the Sun. Great video, made me home sick for a place I called home for quite a few years.

As someone from Liverpool I can only apologise for the state of our roads and lack of cycle lanes.
Would be a shame to lose those roads though, that's history right there.
Not the cobbled ones. You don't see many of those now. It's the road surface on the major (and not so major) thoroughfares into and out of the city centre. They're full of potholes and shockingly bad.@@hithere3035

I live in Toxteth buddy, I've lived here for over 20yrs. Don't be put off by that guy it's not a bad area. I find a lot of scousers will go out there way to help one another.
I agree, cycle lanes in Liverpool are absolutely garbage and drivers (that don't ever cycle) don't get it and tend to just want to move you out the way with there bumper.

Love that you went to Princes Park. Toxteth gets such a bad rap but I've been living round there the last 11 years and I've had zero problems (also the photo you put on was from when they filmed Peaky Blinders round here, and has since been regenerated and refurbished along with a load of other streets round there including mine - most of the bits you were saying "ooh this is lovely" were Toxteth including the park). Good video!

Lack of bike lanes is due to Joe (Fatso) Anderson, ex-mayor of Liverpool till driven out after corruption charges were laid against him.
When elected, Fatso closed the bike lanes, saying it would speed up the traffic.
It didn't and the post-Fatso administration didn't reinstate bike lanes.

It'd be nice to see you delivering around Birmingham! Just make sure to stay in the city centre, and you'll be well off, as there's lot of Uni accommodation around! Also keep in mind that there's a lot of road works and traffic at the moment due to HS2, our trams being put in and also the German market.

I used to work in Toxteth every Friday and Sat night, as long as you are aware of your surroundings, no different to any other area. Glad you enjoyed Liverpool.

Nice to see you in my home city, Liverpool’s a very friendly place generally, it has its problems just like every other city, toxteth isn’t that bad, my aunty lived there all her life, and I used to work there.
I grew up in Toxteth, it’s really not as bad as everyone makes out.
Tocky has got a bad name, but there’s well worse places in the north of the city. Kirkdale is 10x worse.

I second Leicester. I live there for a couple of years, moved back to Brum but several times I took a train to Leicester to do some Uber and Deliveroo, all day and come back to Brum lol.

I'm from London but now live in Liverpool. I've travelled with my bike 3 times with Avanti to and from London and you're right they don't know their policies. I was almost denied boarding once with a reservation code from their customer service (with a normal bike). I've also seen people not be let off at their stop (the guy said it wasn't the first time) because the train manager forgot (despite being reminded) as they need to unlock the carriage doors where the bike is stored. I was also forgotten about and not let off the train (on the same journey as I was nearly not let on) but luckily, as Liverpool is the terminus, eventually the train driver came out of his cab to where I was locked in and let me out. If it was on the way down to London and I was at the opposite end to the driver then I'd be fucked.
I have a friend that goes on about the avanti west coast 😂

Give Cambridge a try some weekend. Loads of students. Compact city centre. Train under an hr and lots of late trains back to maximum working time. And it's flat! No hills and a easy place to navigate on 2 wheels.

Triple orders have been around for ages man, at least here in Liverpool. I must say you haven’t delivered in the correct areas. Hunts cross and Speke are busier in terms of deliveries. Love too see your content in my home town 😊❤

I know i am scouser but people from other parts of the country have always said they love the city. They feel safe going to pubs and clubs in the city centre and every person they have met have been friendly and helpful.

all restaurants were in line pretty much over 3 blocks and all houses and appartements were near eachother too
the 5 orders took me less then 30 minutes to complete and paid almost 25 euro

I’m from over the water from Liverpool and even tho scousers and wools have a back and forth and banter it’s honestly one of the nicest genuine down to earth places I know. We go over there sometimes for our shopping and I’ve gotten myself into some tricky situations and on two occasions I must have looked like it was written on my face because two locals came up to me to see if I was ok and needed help 😅 one time I’d lost my purse and the second I’d lost my partner as it was packed that day .. the first time was a couple who helped me look for it (found it by the bench outside primark) and the second time was a woman who stayed with me until my partner found me ( I have bad anxiety and crowds scare me a bit didn’t tell her this but she could see I was panicking abit) and was chatting away with me about her family and we’re she was from in Liverpool and we were talking about we’re I’m from and seeing if any of our families might of known eachother since she had a auntie who used to live over the water 😂 was very kind of both of them and something I always remember about Liverpool and it’s people there. While we are not scousers we have similar morals and personality’s when it comes to how we treat people. We have a rough image to the outside but we are an old school style tight knit community who loves banter and being good to people when we can. That to me is what makes us similar and il always love Liverpool and the scousers regardless of the banter we have of scousers vs wools 😂

I was a taxi driver in Liverpool for 17yrs and never had a problem in toxteth, in fact some of the nicest people you could meet.
I've heard multiple stories of couriers getting their bikes robbed there.

Apparently its the most dangerous area in Liverpool it used to have riots there but im guessing its crime isn't as high as it used to be and every city has dangerous areas to be honest
@@Leojw10 In my personal opinion the most dangerous areas of Liverpool (i've experienced) is the city centre and County road and adjoining areas.
First time I’ve watched this channel, watched cos it’s my home city, lovely to see the city centre it really is a beautiful place architecturally, I know there’s a few knobheads but that’s the same as every city, it is a welcoming place tho. Great video. Toxteth used to be bad years ago but it’s changed quite a bit. Three areas I would recommend you avoid are Kensington (sounds posh but couldn’t be further from the truth) kirkdale and Walton
It's a shame the bike battery didn't last long enough for you to do more deliveries and earn more. How about a nice cycle friendly city like Cambridge?
Interesting video seeing you delivering in a new city. I noticed your screenshot of the triple order and I would like to know how the delivery platforms (Delivero and Über Eats) calculate your earnings when you deliver bundles? In your screenshot I saw this as a single amount and for the triple bundle, so are your bundle earnings calculated from each of the individual pickups to drop off for every single order, or are the earnings calculated from the first drop off to the next drop off? The last calculation method results in less earnings for the courier and a considerable cost saving for the delivery platform.

I went to liverpool 1 year ago i went with some friends who i met on holiday in june last year in october last year i went on a little vacation on the day i arrived i went to liverpool i went there on a train from ormskirk to liverpool central when i was in liverpool i explored the lovely docks where there used to be a railway line along there
Get Sheffield on there, but avoid one area, Page Hall, although we are plagued with delivery riders
Too many hills in Sheffield, be a nightmare on the ebike.

I was living in Toxteth briefly in the early 90s. I liked the place a lot.
I am from Liverpool and I really enjoyed this video, I love seeing all these delivery people trying to earning a few quid, as kids we would have all been doing this to earn a shilling, to bring home for our Mam’s.
No electric bikes and mobiles back then, but we would have give it our best, I am sure of that.
I am always baffled that cycling on the pavement is normal, we would never have cycled on the pavement ever as a kid.
You say no where is worst than London. The thing is London is densely populated so there is more chance of crime etc. But in the north wages are lower, jobs aren't as abundant as London. It can be rough in places outside of London. Just everyone is Londoncentric including the government who do not invest in the north. Look at HS2 for example. They cancelled the line up to Leeds and Manchester. P.S. Liverpool is a beautifully historical maritime area :) check out their maritime museum and Tate one day.
Bradford has the highest crime rate in uk its worse then London apparently but yeah i guess its because the north is poorer i do prefer Yorkshire over the south tho but i love London

Not really. Plenty of aggression and you don't have to look too far to find it. Having said that, immigration levels are so high that the character of the city is changing by the week. Still some decent suburbs left though thankfully.
As a Londoner who now lives up north. London is not friendly at all anymore, I am surprised this is even a question actually!
