They finally added a GPS support. I used to track my workouts with a phone in my hand while running, which was uncomfortable. There's finally a way to just go out without caring about how will I know how far I went and what time I ran the track today.
Is it on the Chinese version only or global, too?
@@mrwx_6199 Global version is not out yet, but it will have GPS with 99% probability as there are usually only minor changes between the versions. But remember you have to buy Mi Band 8 Pro, not the regular version.

Unfortunatelly i bought 7 pro. It has to sync every night or it loses all data from previous day. Thats so wrong that i got back to my mi smart band 5. Is 8pro same on that part?

You can enable data synchronization between Mi Fitness and Strava. I'm not sure about upgrading the Chinese version to the global version.

I've tried everything humanly possible, but Strava and Mi fitness seem to completely repel eachother. How can we synchronise the data? Any hints?
Good review, do you know how to fix the daylight saving time bug? I have this band in Melbourne Australia and the time won’t adjust for daylight saving.
Same problem here in Canada
The latest software update version 1.3.99 has finally fixed the daylight saving issue.

i do love this band. too many of the $$$$ watches are just massive. the only downside is that my eyesight is not what it was 20 years ago... and i find the smaller print hard as hell to read. would love a software setting for increased sizes.

If i’m not mistaken you said here around 2:30 ish that there’s no speaker, and still not support bluetooth calling.
So how will it work for listening to music or call? Or does it mean that we cannot call with this band? Then what’s the use of the mic?😅

Yes, Xiaomi Band 8 Pro has a microphone, and it is used for the voice assistant. However, the Chinese version of the band supports the Chinese voise assistant, so it is a useless feature for most of us.

Thank you! I think a real watch should completely replace a smartphone, including LTE internet, calls, GPS navigation, installing apps, and etc. Everything else is a fitness watch.

Were there any improvements between Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro and Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro in terms of GPS performance?
Unfortunatly, I don't have Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro now. However, I will compare Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro and Smart Band 8, and find out if the Pro version really is better and more accurate at calculating distance.
Has anyone here tried using the Chinese version in the U.S., set to English, and have you then been able to successfully access the watch face store section of the app? It's usually not a problem with Xiaomi watches, but Huawei has screwed me out of faces every time I've owned one of their watches, as a resident of the U.S.
I am not from the US, but I set English on my smartphone, and I can download any watch faces from the app to fitness bracelet.
I have just bought a Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro, Chinese edition, and am having problem pairing it with my Redmi 9 phone. Bluetooth on the phone states the pairing has been done however the MI Fitness app cannot find the added device. I have booted and rebooted both and have tried Bluetooth off/on on the Redmi but just cannot get the MI Fitness app to find the device. Also the watch list shown on the the app does not have the 8 Pro, only the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 (not Pro) Help please!!!
You need to change the region to China in the Mi Fitness app.
Thanks for that. I have done that and it pairs easily. Problem is it has to stay on China. If I change the app setting back to Australia (where I live) the pairing stops. Trying to use the band with all Chinese language is hopeless. Band had English on it before I tried pairing. Is there any way round this please? Thank you.@@TechBrothersReviews

You mention the 8 Pro comes as set to China,/Chinese, but may be structured to be used in English. Are you able to advise how this can be done?
You need to change the language on your smartphone to English, and then open Mi Fitness app. After that the Smart Band 8 Pro will become English.
How make it work in USA?
For an English only user is there any benefit waiting for the global version release or buy the Chinese version with English now.
There is already a global version of Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro, so if the price of the global and Chinese versions are the same in your region, it's better to take the global one.
I can't make it work with xiaomi xome app, it display error on the band. I have xiaomi air purifier and I use xioami home app on the phone
Unfortunately, I haven't tested the Mi Home app on the smart band, so I can't say anything about that.

Oh, yeah, my bad. Looks like the Smart Band 8 Pro screen resolution is 336 x 480 pixels. It is higher than the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro.
On 8 Pro, it has Tilt To Auto Light feature?
Do you mean Raise To Wake function? Yes, it is available.

You are right, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro had an ambient light sensor too. This is not a new feature.
Is the mi band 8 pro compatible with other brands strap like Apple?
No, it is not compatible with Apple watch straps, but you can find non-original straps for Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro on Aliexpress.

English only is available. If you need another language, you should wait for the global version. Also, the voice assistant is only in Chinese. The global version will most likely have Alexa.

I ve seen somewhere that 8 Pro should be able to control smart home devices in Mi home (mijia) app. But I never seen this feature in video. Anyone that can confirm this function? :)
I talked about the Mi Home at 05:32. Unfortunately, I don't have any devices in Mi Home, so I can't test this feature.

Have you paired the bracelet with your smartphone? The time on the bracelet should be the same as on the smartphone.

No, you cannot add a credit card to the bracelet. It only supports NFC transport cards.

I haven't tested Huawei Watch Fit 2, so I cannot tell you which bracelet is better. However, I noticed that the Huawei Watch Fit 2 has Bluetooth calling. The Xiaomi bracelet does not have this feature.

Once you have changed the language of your phone to English, the mi band 8pro will be also turned to English. But then, can we return to our native language on the phone and keep the mi band in English ?
Unfortunately, no. The fitness bracelet will go back to Chinese. The smartphone should always be in English.
