For once, I actually 100% agree with Shannon Sharpe. I've been telling people, what we saw from Giannis last year was like Jordan in 1991. The parallels are incredible. He even did a ridiculous lay-up in the playoffs like Jordan did.
All I'm saying is that with some players, there comes a time in their career where that "switch" is flipped and they become the best of league. Transcendent-players like Giannis just don't come around often. If Giannis was done playing basketball, TODAY he would be a first-ballot HOFer. Skip falls in love with the shooting aspect too much, especially when comparing Giannis to KD. Giannis does everything elite already, his shooting is only improving. Giannis’ overall game is simply better than anyone else currently. KD is the better shooter, that will always be the case. Shooting isn’t everything when talking about ability though and I think a lot of people forget that. Giannis is the better rebounder, passer, defender, rim protector, finisher. But KD is better because his shooting is other worldly? There is so much more to basketball.

Also, as far as the closer on the Bucks team...Khris is the offensive closer, but they sleep on what Giannis has done time and time again defensively(X-mas Game this year against the Celtics) to close out games! Taking a clutch 3 pointer isn't the only way to close out a game. He has blocked alley oops, and dunks to close out games in close situations.

Yep Giannis turned a huge corner last season which became really evident in the Miami Heat series which most people going in were calling a toss up because of a perceived psychological advantage that the Heat had. A very different Giannis showed up in that series to the one from the previous season.
Durant did outplay Giannis in the series though both were amazing but Giannis won his ring the proper way without the assistance of superstar teammates.

This individual stretch he’s on over the last 3-4 seasons is on par with guys like Jordan and Shaq in their primes, it’s unheard of, maybe only once in a lifetime type of numbers and dominance. He’s already got as many MVPs and DPOYs as KG and Dirk COMBINED. Likely gonna surprise that this year with his all but guaranteed second DPOY (he’s so far in first place he could get injured for the rest of the year and still win it at this point), and possible third MVP. Giannis is a top 20 player ever already at only 27, and will likely go down top 10 when it’s all said and done.
