    Great effort Tim and dad, saw how relieved you were to see the engine ticking over. A great many of us that watch your videos find them entertaining and no doubt wish we had the time take on these projects. Well we do kind of in some small way by sharing in your journey. The channel is most definitely going in the right direction with its contents and enthusiasm along with the amusing 'keeping it real struggles', so thanks mate for sharing I'm sure we all keep supporting you in our own way cheers🍻🍻.

    the fast action makes things more acceptable to me. Watching someone take a ring spanner to twenty nuts at normal speed is dead set boring, great to see it running, well done..

    Great channel 👍🏻 great to see you are monetizing so you can do more projects 🙂
    I hear from other youtubers that the golden age of CZcams add revenue is over. Everyone is going for sponsored content, Merch and patreon. Supposedly google are pushing towards having content creators receiving none of the add revenue and just being satisfied that they have a platform.
    Anyways have to wait and see in the meantime can't wait to see what you do next 🙂👍🏻

    Well done Tim!! You and your dad have done a magnificent job getting that BMW engine running ( and running damn well too mate). One puff of smoke then it just settled down and idled away. As you said the stern drive is next and then the whole lot into the Magnificent Lady (Kiara) and off for many cruises!!
    I have found in the past that if an engine doesn't resist in some way it ain't gonna last so once again well done mate!! :)

    What the heck was the dip stick hitting on? That was NOT normal.

    • @HarpersBoatShed
      @HarpersBoatShed  Před 9 měsíci

      No it certainly wasn't normal. It felt like it was contacting the cam or possibly a counterweight on the crank. It was all bent up and out of shape when I got the engine so it's possible I bent it back wrongly. I will be investing further that's for sure.

  • @mikef.1000
    @mikef.1000 Před 9 měsíci

    Great result!! But man... what was up with that dipstick? Looks like it was interfering with the crankshaft somehow?!

    • @HarpersBoatShed
      @HarpersBoatShed  Před 9 měsíci

      Yeah I think that's exactly what was happening with it. The dipstick was all mangled up when I got the engine and I bent it back into what I thought was the right position but I must have missed the mark

    Hi mate, I really enjoy your channel. I’m not sure why but I seem to get your episodes all over the place and not in order, any idea…

    • @HarpersBoatShed
      @HarpersBoatShed  Před 8 měsíci

      Hi mate, I'm glad you're enjoying the channel and I may have an idea why things seem a bit all over the place and not in order. It probably seems like there is no real order to the channel at the moment and that's because there really isn't. I'm stuck in a bit of limbo right now between wanting to do more work on the boat but not being able to do it full time so I tend to just work on whatever part I am able to at the time. All the BMW engine videos are a good example, I wasn't able to make it out to the boat for a month so instead I worked in the shed on the engine but it seems out of place in the timeline of things. Also another factor is that every Wednesday I put up a "old" from the original channel ( Harper's Shed) that no longer has any boat content on it. So they appear out of order also. My hope is that as I dedicate more time to the boat and the channel that I can make the whole process easier to follow and not as disjointed.
      Anyway I hope that answers your questions mate.
      Merry Christmas 👍
      Tim
