- 'George to the Rescue' teams up with Make-A-Wish New Jersey to grant 7-year-old James Popelka’s wish just in time for his birthday.
James and his older sister Rose have both been diagnosed with congenital muscular dystrophy. After James made a wish for an accessible home theater/gaming room that would allow him to play games with his friends and enjoy movie nights with his family, GTTR host George Oliphant brings in a dedicated team of experts and designers to renovate the Popelka's living space and create an immersive cinematic experience that’ll provide them comfort, joy, and entertainment for many years to come. #worldwishday #makeawish

With muscular dystrophy, there’s a lot of things other kids can do, that you cannot. Make A Wish gives you something you can do and that means so much. Thanks Make A Wish!
Absolutely loved it when the little guy said 'thank you' after he walked into the new room.
I was a make a wish kid! What they do is amazing. I’m glad George helped!
Make a-wish will be the only one that if I have money I make donations every year God Blee you all and God Bless America
This one was awesome I loved every part and the kids were so appreciative man there parents are doing a heck of a great job raising such a well mannered kind hearted children.. I Hope the enjoy there movie room..
Perfect. Absolutely, perfect.
WOW! Amazing family received a great gift❤️!
I was amazed to click on this episode and find a 'Popelka' Family! I live in Kansas and even have a brother named James! How cool is this?
The smiles on the faces of the little ones are priceless. The smiles on the parents seeing their children so happy is a dream come true for any parent.
George to the rescue mean the the world rescue and always rocks 😮❤
Great episode! The Popelka family are part of my extended family. I am so happy for all of them that James got his wish granted. Thank you George to the Rescue and everyone involved in this.
Love that there's voice control - if James and Rose end up not being able to use their hands well, as would be likely given diagnosis, having voice activated stuff will be so important.
Just amazing
God bless you all🙏❤️👏
Thank you George. You are a blessing to me children and the family. 😎💕🌈😇👍
Such an awesome wish and rescue - what a beautiful family. 💕💕💕
ALL of you are my heroes 👍😇🤩💕!!!!
Fantastic episode ❤😮😀
God Bless America
Such a talented artist who painted the ceiling. Another great job to the entire crew!
Gosh what a wonderful family. So happy that that they were selected for Make a wish, I’m sure there are hundreds of thousands that apply. Wow…what a room transformation that easily converts from movie (dark) to art time (light). And that ceiling! Wow what an artist. It’s true, it takes a village to raise a child….and George’s v😅illage is all encompassing for sure!
love the ceiling. excellent makeover n upgradation.
That is so precious.
WOW. What a fantastic room for Jimmy and family. I love how a sun room was turned into a place full of movies and arts and crafts. The ceiling was awesome. George and team really made a wish come true for an adorable boy. Happy trails to you and God bless.
Such a beautiful transformation! We hope the Popelka family will enjoy it for many years to come!
Another great episode... I just love how it's NJ/NY based like moi' ... real families, and contractors I know and trust, and WOW that ceiling - I need this myself!!!
Happy birthday Jimy
Love this transformation ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I wanna be George & his phenomenal team when I grow up! I look so forward to your episode and binge watch all the repeats in between! Just thank you so much! And Happy Birthday Jimmy

Hurray George to the rescue from México
Awesome! Great job!!! George to the Rescue has a great impact on me just watching it from my cellphone, ahm... maybe a million miles away from you guys (just exaggerating)😊but really I'm from south east part of Asia, PHILLIPINES. I know just watching here in CZcams can help others. God bless you and more years to come.❤❤❤
Hello, Judy! Thank for your sweet words!
👍 ☺️✌️
Great family, wishing them the best! It's a nice job y'all did. I respect how usually you improve the place without doing the Ty Pennington style of throwing people into tripling their bills. Beautiful yet considered rescue :)
Good morning from Arizona
Good morning, Judy!
This is absolutely amazing ❤
Hey, many couples were high school sweethearts!
Love this show. I have binged watched almost every episode they have. My only issue is that there is a clip in the intro that I have not watched and I cannot find the episode for the life of me. It is the second family at 0:02 seconds in. Help me George!!!!

Wow can I go and watch a movie?
What an amazing rescue! The room looks awesome and Raul who painted the ceiling did an incredible job ! Is Vanessa ( the designer) new to GTTR?
Hi Paula! Thank you for tuning in and for your kind comment! Vanessa has designed other GTTR renovations as well - she's so talented!
@@GeorgeToTheRescue I also think Chasity is a great designer too
The challenge about something like this is it reinforces that passive, non-physical entertainment requiring little or no effort is completely positive. It is not. Yes, for two children with physical challenges a focus on sitting staring at a huge screen has merit but as a culture celebrating and focusing on entertainment over producing and working and contributing is not a balanced message. So much about life is being lost to the obsession with screens. And, yes, the irony of being on a screen to point this out is not lost on me. But rather than simply gush at the wonderful aspects of this story, which are real and valid, I find it necessary to point out that there are downsides to things like this that are ignored. And I realize it is possible the balancing act is going on behind the scenes and the emphasis, appropriately, is on the wish, the joy, the immediacy. But if not I hope someday there will be a focus on a balance that honors work, contribution, producing, effort, struggle and the power of giving rather than only receiving.
