i like to think that what's running through the mouse's mind is, "Oh ____... This is the Woods farm, isn't it? I gotta call mom and let her know I'll be on CZcams."
So cool to see your vintage & modern traps of the same type. Thanks for giving history and demonstration of a classic item. It is cool to see the release or snack ate the end of each catch. Keep up the great content.
These wire funnel traps are always reliable!! I just received the Garrett Wade catalog & again, they have one of the classic mousetrap domed/funnel traps you've demonstrated before. I'd make the base a metal one, so they can't gnaw their way out, but again, the funnel design is a great one.
I remember making a wire trap years ago to catch that pesky mouse hiding around my house but to no avail. Until one day, as I was getting out of the toilet, I stepped on something. Lo and behold that mouse was now pancake.
You cut away JUST as your pet mouse was going to poop all over the jar. The deer mouse was doing a good job showing the last part of "Fight, Flight, or Freeze"
Shawn, you could do at least one whole episode about your pet mice. They are cute little critters and they seem to really like you. And they seem to enjoy working as crash test dummies in your new traps :D
Have you seen any traps where the mouse enters a chamber, steps on a pad, and a motor moves the mouse to another chamber? I saw on e on tv several years ago.
Rusty collection! while sanding that off would probably damaging perhaps you might try soaking in rust converter to seal the surface from further rusting?

That mouse looked awfully depressed in the bottle, probably thinking he was going to be humanely dispatched. Good thing he was a Native-American mouse and got to live! 🐭🤡🐭🤡🐭

That mouse looks so angry it got caught. That's one of the cutest little mice I've seen you catch Shawn, so much personality.
8th time this year it's been caught, the other mouse thinks he a laughing stock
At least he's a native species.
i like to think that what's running through the mouse's mind is, "Oh ____... This is the Woods farm, isn't it? I gotta call mom and let her know I'll be on CZcams."
Mouse spends whole night trying to escape, then Shawn opens the door, mouse is like, “I’m not so sure now…”.
Releases out next the barn see you in a few days mousey fellow
Right: "hey, this might be a trap!"
Loved how your pet mouse almost couldn't fit "feed well/happy" vs wild mouse slid right in like butter lol. Love your videos keep up the hard work.
The pet mouse seemed to have "mouse-bearing" hips!

Thanks Shawn! This'll be bedtime video, the kids often remind me that "it's Monday, you know what that means?"

Making mouse pancakes? hmm..🤔
Hey, as long as it keeps you out of trouble...🤪
I can't explain it, but i love every single video you post.

The deer mouse was doing a good job showing the last part of "Fight, Flight, or Freeze"
Pet mice getting a little too well fed for the job 😂
I'd comment on the ease of entry of wild vs pet, but i wouldn't want to fat shame the cute little fuzzball.
Seeing these old mouse traps just looks like teatnus waiting to happen
Thanks for letting it free
Another great video, Shawn.
In olden days, they tossed the jar into water to drown them.
Still do!
WOW... I just dreamt this concept for catching mice.
Your a cool dude.

Nothing better than pickled mice 🐭
2 liter soda bottles work if just propped up a bit. They go in for sugar
Very clever.. Glad to see the little guys ok ☺️
Very cool you let the native ones go free!
Great video 👍
Good work Crawdaddy.
Thank you Shawn. I dig your videos and always will.
Simple yet effective and good to ensure native species of mice do not get killed.
I remember this trap! lol!
Cool mouse video!
How about anything new for moles?
Would like a live catch option if possible.
Another mouse gets to walk free!
Like the "grate" idea; always convinced the spikes will get moved out of place otherwise...
Oh I gotta get me one of these
I half expected him to smash the jar after he finished his outro lmao
Love to see one for rats!

I love the release part 😊
I made a mousetrap that looks like a crab, and the pinch zone is where I would put the bait.
Nice bro

"Dr, Grant D. Mouse says that he cannot see us if we don't move."

That would totally and utterly destroy the value of the collectable traps.
I really appreciate how you focus on live catch and humane releases.
That's only happened since the CZcams politically correct stupidity started.
The reason that mouse traps exist is because they are pests (vermin).
What do you do with a live mouse you've caught that you now want dead?
That mouse is looking around thinking “now what?”
that one worked

You catch so many deer mice
I'm wondering if you've ever heard of or tested the Mouseblocker.
I think that you have caught all the house mouse that is why there is only deer mouse in your barn
poor thing was like "hey, wHat aBout all them seed??" 🐁😒..No freebees mousy it's the great recession.

What kind of snakes do you have living among all these rodents you manage to catch?

Wouldn't it be easier for the mouse to pull itself in if the trap door swung down?
sure, but then it wouldn't close

How do you humainly dispatch a mouse?
By killing it.
Hey hey
If I kill a deer mouse in a trap... is it allowed ?

Pet mice PTSD alert.
Your well-fed pet mouse could just barely squeeze in there..
mouse
What if you use all of your traps in once, those animals will be so fat that they dont have find food for weeks
The door seems unnecessary. The mouse was seeking the exit and couldn't figure out the entrance to the passage way was somewhere else.
Seeing a lot less of the house mice
You probably killed most of them
Your pet mice are getting kind of portly for some of traps. Not that I'm in a position to criticize.
