Wow this is the prettiest stick welding i have ever seen.
It's cause you haven't seen mine 😜 jk. Those are some good looking welds.
its the 8010 makes absolute dimes
If anyone wants to learn about Jesus Christ reply
Damn! Those are the straightest welded lines I’ve ever seen.
this is the video that made me become a welder. just felt like sharing that
Nicely explained Klay. Thanks for your crew putting this one out. It will be a good reference exercise for future SMAW classes.
Bob Moffatt thank you Sir
Thanks to both of you guys. Each of you have helped me out big time when it comes to technique.
Nice to see you're still around Bob.
Bob☝️👍🏻♥️
@@myselfremade Gee thanks Andrew. Hope all is well.
This guy literally was born with a stinger in his hand damn he could really overlap beads
This was one of the best tutorials for dialing in technique with a stick. Thank you !
That is the best welding I have ever seen so far, great job.
*They picked the right guy to demo dimes with stick.*
*I rarely see this kind of CONSISTENT skill.*
Superior weld beads by far an awesome run of dimes. Great teaching
Very informational love watching the runs and changing up the Amps. Thanks enjoyed it.
Some damn nice beads! Can you do the same vid, but with 7018 now?
That dude can freakin’ weld. Very nice job!
My only complaint is the camera man not keeping a steady and clear view while you did those first two. Hopefully he gets better shots through the rest of the video, those welds were real nice!
Edit: Okay the camera work got MUCH better as the video progressed!
Some excellent welding techniques and skills in this video!
Amazing skills, mate. I'm looking forward to trying out these techniques next time I'm in the shop! Currently practising for my 1G and 2G weld tickets in Canada (technically it's 1GF and 2GF)
Awesome video thanks👍👍👍👍 I learned a lot . One thing I will say welding down hill is easier for me then going straight across on side plate. Also I pickup tips on overhead.
This fellow is really good, his style of explanation and method of propping is top notch. Very well done. He could have his own channel for sure. I hope so. Jim Tree
I am 13 and i am learning how to weld so far my welds are getting better but when i watched this video i was able to control my puddle and stack the dime
sandwich welds
look up job corps there are a lot of job corps with welding and they help you with getting a job in welding or any construction job you want after you finish if your in the US it is offered from age 16-24 its a good program to get into
Same
this dude is a welding artist, those beads look perfect. this really helps because i'm taking a welding course and just starting out right now we are burning 7018s. i need to work on my consistency speed wise and starting cleanly without sticking , so this demo should really help with that.
It always helps to have some sort of rhythm or pattern to follow, if you do that your speed will be very consistent!
It’s a great video and y’all put out some great content as well. I think you guys should do another video like this, but on some pipe using a good ol sa200 and demonstrate different techniques
Nice bead stacking Sir :-) great video team
Incredible consistency and control!
The consistency is on level 1000 here.
Nice stuff; the kind of "how to" welding videos that are of value!
Amazing bro.Im learn from Brazil watching this class!
Awesome work Klay, have to get me some XX10 electrodes to start practising with man. nice camera work to
very nice ripples and wiving, thanks for vidieo 💖
Very nice!!!! patience and steady hand is the key
gorgeous,shiny welds !
Great video i love every minute of it well explained .
On another note Greatly appreciate the video’s 🤙🏽
Thanks this helps alot much love from jersey
amazing skill! You are truly a master!
Watching from Philippines smaw welder that's a wonderfull and beatifull bed ticqnues tuturial I like your vedio Master thank you
Damn. That first pass was mint
That guy can weld! Very nice.
We can tell you've have plenty of practice! Those are some fancy stacks
That's impressive 👌
Thanks you all for a great learn!
Beautiful. Stupid question maybe, but can one stack dimes with a 60xx rod or any rod with powder coating around it?
I needed this I’m in welding school and I have to do this for a grade today
Klay's welding is so good that he is the new Steve Bleile 😮
Dude got some of the prettiest beads I have ever seen
Brother this video is just great man.can we do the same with the 7018 stick like that? Great Man! Greetings from France Brother!
I'm new at welding at I'm on the basic B Horizontal. Your looking good! I'm trying to pass the test currently. (which is today)
And what is that beat called in the beginning? 🔥
Thats badass klay 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Joe La Roche thanks brother 👊🏻👊🏻
Great Texas accent Klay, lmao!!
Have fun pal, great welds, jealous as all get out, thanks.
Cheers from home mate (🇦🇺) 🍺🍺
Pilot McBride cheers mate 🍻 I’ll be saying y’all in no time 🤣
@@klaychesham1791 Just to let you know, today we're looking at 45C and Saturday will be 46 - 50C (in the Hunter Valley, ffs). Hopefully a bit friendlier where you are.
Marry Christmas mate, have a safe one.
Pilot McBride got the same conditions out bush west of Sydney. Emergency bush fire warnings today. You stay safe up there too mate.
Western Syd is far worse than us my friend. I'm too old & unfit to go out, but we move gear around for our local blokes. There's so much fuel on the ground statewide, bloody tinderbox.
Anyway, just thought I'd drop in & say G'day. This has gone passed welding, which I might add, still sucks after learning it over 40 years ago, lol. Me & mild steel rods get on like a hard on & a funeral, lmao.
Cheers mate, all the best & Merry Christmas.
Good job man
Great video, great technique, beautiful beads...I have a question > I’ve not used 8010, but don’t you have to remove the flux on a restart, the same reason to buff between covering passes? That is to remove slag for complete fusion and no porosity? Or is it like 6010 and can burn through if it’s minimal? Thanks for your time.
alexinjt thank you. 8010 have pretty much the same running characteristics as 6010, 8010 is just of a higher tensile. With the nature of a XX10 classified electrode being deep penetrating and a very thin slag cover, cleaning before restarting is rarely required.
For the work I do I usually use 6011, and 6013 to fill larger gaps.
Good job brother
Damn those welds are fantastic
👍 well done mate
Nice dimes but try that 8010 going uphill it’s how a couple schools are tying to teach and I would love to see it done on this channel
Taught us this In weld school!
The best. Thank you
Duncan Mac Farlane appreciate the comment mate
What’s a good rule of thumb for how close your whips should be? Over half cap? Like you would a stringer
well done!!!
this is what i wait😍👍💓
Looks awesome Mate!! Thanks for the vid!
DAMN nice beads man
On the overhead position don't you want to travel/drag the opposite way so the sparks/ molten metal dosen't drip/ fall on your arm
Keep your amps high enough where your arc is super tight and molten metal wont fall at all. As long as your arc is tight
So neat and nice
A question I have why the rod bent to a 90 degrees, it is just a preference or is it just like that.
Good job
Can this be done with 7018 rod?
Would these settings go for Lincoln welders aswell?
EXCELENTE VIDEO¡¡... SALUDOS DESDE MEXICO¡¡
I'm good at welding but holy frijoles this guy is very good, hope one day to be as good as him, great job 👍🏼
Dehydrated Water same here, this is beautiful work
Dehydrated Water thank you very much.
This is first year type of welding nothing difficult about it
How do u get a video of the arc?
Which electrode use
What did he have the arc control set at ??????
Quisiera que me ayudaras a saber qué amperajes puedo utilizar para hacer una prueba de soldadura en tubería 6g con mig lo que quiero es saber la tecnica para el pase de raíz gracias
what kinda safety goggles are those
Slick!
I have a question. I thought when welding vertical up with stick you were supposed to weld up instead of down in order to not risk cold lap in the weld?
7018 up only yes.
But 6010 you can do either.
Where can I find that shirt ? I’m assuming it’s not FR?
Those dimes are stacked!!!!!
Hi, excellent thanks
Please make a video for welding in vertical position but uphill welding not downhill
So you have to be up the hill instead of down it 😭
Stand up the hill 😂
It’s called vertical up
How did you make them so tight mines are spread apart how do I fix
Beautiful welding. Well Done ! I'll have to try that.
However.... Q: Is there ever a practical application for stacking dimes ? I've been stick welding for years. No one has ever asked me for it. I've never seen a request for it on blue prints and I don't know any guys that do it. What's it for ?
So you're looking at two stock trailers to haul your prize ponies around. Man on the lot gives you spec sheets that say the trailers are the same. With your own eye, however, you can see dimes stacked throughout the welds of one but not the other. Even as a knowledgeable welder, those welds are going to communicate superior attention to detail to you regarding one trailer vs the other.
downhill pipe welding mostly
sp10sn damn that is an awesome explanation. Couldn’t have put it better myself.
@@sp10sn But that doesnt mean the welds are better than the ones that arent stacked dimes. They just look cooler.
It's basic whip and pause for pipe, you maroon.
What type of rod is this?
Amazing
can you show very clearly your technique to get dimes that good? also my welding teacher said to never go back on the weld with stick welding because it creates air pockets under the weld making it weaker?
do you weld on - or +?
I know nothing about welding but watching this is SUPER satisfying.
Lindo trabajo. 👏👏
You make it look so easy lol I’m am not doing that great 😂
Hi I request you please making one vedio all positions weaving pettern with chock and electrode angle
Prettiest welds I ever seen. At all. over head and😊😊😊 flat welds
What technique is that
how to draw stick welding for get beauty skill ? I need basic toturial.
What kind of electrode is he using
This guy born with electrode in his hand. That is beautiful stick welding.
Where did you take your pancake to get your name put on it? Looks good
DiscerningDelinquent321 the one and only outlaw leather in Texas
fresh stacks!
do you downhand on pipe ? I was under the impression downhand is forbidden ?
It is very dependent applications, standards and procedures. Pipelines world wide are most common welded with XX10 series electrodes vertically down.
Is it possible to do a video on uphill XX10?
Like an up hill hotpass and uphill cap with XX10
may i asking what kind of the welding helmet u used?
Pancake hood
@@OVERCAPITALIZE thanks
