    Great video, great technique, beautiful beads...I have a question > I’ve not used 8010, but don’t you have to remove the flux on a restart, the same reason to buff between covering passes? That is to remove slag for complete fusion and no porosity? Or is it like 6010 and can burn through if it’s minimal? Thanks for your time.

    • @klaychesham1791
      @klaychesham1791 Před 4 lety +3

      alexinjt thank you. 8010 have pretty much the same running characteristics as 6010, 8010 is just of a higher tensile. With the nature of a XX10 classified electrode being deep penetrating and a very thin slag cover, cleaning before restarting is rarely required.

    • @sp10sn
      @sp10sn Před 4 lety +8

      So you're looking at two stock trailers to haul your prize ponies around. Man on the lot gives you spec sheets that say the trailers are the same. With your own eye, however, you can see dimes stacked throughout the welds of one but not the other. Even as a knowledgeable welder, those welds are going to communicate superior attention to detail to you regarding one trailer vs the other.
