Jenna is better
Dude I can’t with Latino parents who don’t teach their kids Spanish due to fear of discrimination or whatever bc ironically if you want your kids to be successful you’d want them to have all the skills they can easily obtain. If she had known Spanish she could’ve acted in Spanish dramas &movies as well. Yes, I get it at the end of the day Jenna got successful either way, but she’s not the only Latina out there who has dealt with this.
i doubt her parents knew spanish either. she is probably second generation.
She is not latina. Her great grandad is
Lol, her grand parents that the latinos, and she could have learned Spanish other way, my parents don't speak English but I do
She is not latina, their parents arent either lol
She and her parents are from u.s.a 🫡
Habla mejor Aleman que Español xd
Jajaja si, tal vez aprenda más español ahora!!
Este no es alemán. Lo que está hablando no tiene sentido. Es un idioma fabricado para la película. No existe en realidad.

@@elena79rus it should be German I can understand a Few words But its very bad
@@youaregay5761 You're right, she's not fluent in Spanish but at least she tried to repeat the words
My parents didn't teach my brothers or myself Spanish, not because of discrimination but because they didn't want us to know what they were saying. They've come to regret that decision.
And that’s the sad part, when parents don’t teach their language, do their children, they are literally closing a door and a world to them. They’re denying them part of their heritage, part of their identity, and many opportunities are literally lost due to the loss of the language.
I think she said that her mom would try to speak in spanish but sense her dad doesnt speak it he didnt like feel excluded so she stop speaking to them in spanish
Hmm that makes me think that’s what my parents did. They look at me now and don’t know why I don’t know Spanish but I only remember English being spoken to me
Wow, that's a really selfish and stupid reason to not teach your kids spanish
agreed. same reason my mother wasnt taught french nor did she teach me. i had to learn with elders right before they passed@@ayeb0ss
Listening to her speak German there was a fucking trip
Right I know a Lil bit of German and it was hard to understand her it sounded like Dutch at one point she has a heavy accent in my opinion
@@case4896its not just the accent but her intonation sounds so foreign it makes is it really hard to understand. But if u know the what she is saying beforehand. She sounds really cute
As a latino who grew up not being taught a sufficient amount of spanish, I feel for her. But, I’ve also been learning spanish on my own now for 8 years at this point and have just reached a point of decent proficiency. It’s very difficult to pick up when you’re older compared to as an adult but I hope that other “no sabo” kids get the urge to learn, because it really is very fulfilling
No sabo kids! Lol 😅
Currently on year 5 and feel like I’m finally getting my footing. You definitely need to want it to go for it.

Tell me about it because when I was a little kid. My family would speak English. I did not know a single damn word in Spanish. And I'm half Mexican and Guatemalan. So I had to learn to speak in both different ways. Spanish. I had to learn to speak the Mexican side. Spanish and the Guatemalan side Spanish. Because even though they're both very similar it's spoken very differently. Luckily I was at a good age when I learned. Because I started to learn when I was 11 years old. Now as a grown 31 year old. I can speak a 100% fluidly. And I'm able to distinguish both my Mexican side and Guatemalan side Spanish. What are the things that I do say is that you never stop learning

As the first generation of my Colombian family born and raised in the USA the judgment that is cast on those who either don’t know Spanish or aren’t fluent is something that has always bothered me about my own community and culture.even if you want to learn Spanish and actively try to use it they also make fun of you because you’re pronunciation isn’t perfect. It feels like you’re never good enough. I can speak, read and understand Spanish but my grammar and pronunciation isn’t always perfect and this makes me uncomfortable to speak Spanish around others that aren’t my family due to the likelihood of judgment. It creates an environment where you feel to “white washed” for the Latin community but to “ethnic” for white people.stop judging others for not being as Latino as you’d like them to be . Everyone is their own person.
That is rightttt
Funny how many White Americans don't speak German or Italian but nobody cares.
NO UR SOOO RIGHT
I love languages, even though I'm not so good at them. But my 6 years old daughter already speaks Spanish, French, and English. I teach her some words in Portuguese and Italian, too. It's impressive how kids learn languages so easily. It's absolutely dumb to deprive them of learning, especially your mother language!
Totalmente
I'm fluent in both languages and i don't care if someone speaks Spanish or not. People will do anything to put others down just to feel better about themselves.
right like just bc u dont speak a language of ur ancestors doesnt mean that ancestry disappears.
Same bro. I'm Mexican born and grew up there, then moved to US and my siblings were born here in US. I can't stand when other Mexican born people look down on the US born "Mexicans" (Mexican American). I can't stand it, pisses me off. My siblings are the same as me regardless if they were born across that imaginary fkn line.

The fact that she's not fluent or does not speak Spanish doesn't make her any less of a Hispanic . She doesn't deny her culture that's important .
It doesn't, but she does miss out on something that is very rather defining experience for a sizeable portion of Hispanics.

To be fair, Latina just means heritage is from south or Central America or Mexico. many kids don't learn the language but learn the culture so its fine. the only issue is lingual communication. for myself, I am Sri Lankan and cant speak Sinhalese but I'll probably smoke any non-Sri Lankan in cultural knowledge and habits. Its likely the same with her because you learn culture through proximity not lingually, and she knows words, she likely has no idea on grammar structure and stuff like that.
