How to cut a straight edge on leather without fancy tools

All you need is a cutting mat, square ruler, utility knife, and a rug on your floor to get a perfect straight cut on your leather.
When you get a new piece of leather, it is helpful to cut a straight edge on the side, especially if you are going to be cutting straps. I have struggled to get a straight line because I don't have fancy tools like a yardstick lol. Well, don't worry about that anymore! I figured out an easy method using a rug on my floor to line up my cutting mat and ruler for the perfect straight cut.
I'm sorry the video quality is not very good. It was past midnight when I was cutting my leather and decided to record last minute. I did this in my living room because my work table is very small. The lighting is not good in the living room. I hope that it is good enough for you to understand this cool little trick!
