I played it for a week, got so angry I quit. 2 days after I was back and hooked harder than ever. Something about the elements in rust just piece themselves so perfectly together it’s almost like a drug that once you start, you honestly can’t stop. I love it and all it’s bloodthirsty PVP

You know the one thing that sets rust so far apart from so many other games is that almost 100% of the time any cut scenes are actual game footage wheather its from the official or creators. A massive well done to the devs for keeping this game going and just improving it over the years

What's so great about this game is replayability.
First wipe, you're struggling to get by, and its an achievement just to get an upgraded base, and tech to revolvers.
Next wipe, you focus on monument hunting
Then fishing, then ocean farming, living off of the train tunnels, doorcamping, learning how to grub, then getting better with guns and contesting the bigger monuments.
Theres so much to do each time you come back and progressively get better at the game. And even when you've done all that, theres new content released all the time to mess around with.
You could spend a wipe being a hemp/tea farmer, or building the most electrically advanced base.

Can’t stress that enough. Do not and I mean do not trust anyone. My first ever wipe I was playing with some buddies and these dudes with a base next to us was helping us out and giving us tips and all. After we get the base built, an hour later they raid us, and say thanks for farming for us. We really trusted those guys too smh.😪

@@stankobarabata2406 your first problem is expecting people to be civil. stay away from this game if you think that. There is no “trading for information” that isn’t a thing on Rust. Rust is a race to get the best guns and gear, you don’t get that by trading resources you get that far quickly by taking.
I have to say Facepunch really delivered, I don't understand how anyone can make such a perfect game, in my years on steam there is no game that can match this one, Facepunch you have my admiration

I bought this game at the beginning, when there were zombies and 10 people on the server was a lot, this trailer not only relives the experience in game but the story of the game itself, they, facepunch, also started naked and only with a rock, and look how far they have come . You guys never let us down, thanks.

Honestly, Rust is one of the best games I've ever played, but god damn it gives me hardcore anxiety, near heart attack moments, and has me constantly worried at work if my base is okay before I get home... It's amazing.
Looking back at the legacy version and now we have this.

I played the game for 3 years and I have really amazing memories of it, not counting that I ever missed it and then I died, but it was a really good game, in my opinion, growth is currently the best survival game in the world. Thanks to Facepunch for giving me such an amazing game

now that i think about it the identity of the game has changed a bit
the "your first day in rust" trailer felt kinda lighthearted, even the trailer music was very catchy and kinda cheerful, like it knew what it was from the start and the game was simple, it showed you the ropes of the game and what could happen
now it feels a lot colder, the music being a kinda darker and sort of epic reimagining of the main menu song of rust legacy, showing that its very fucking tough to survive and even thrive
either way i really like this game, even if i dont play it often due to hardware limitations and time

The most unrealistic thing in this game is “making friends “ by dropping a smg to them and trusting them to not have any ammo for it.

Would be great if offline raids require double resources (in explosives) than if at least 1 member is online. Would incentive to do online RAID
@@pakorizzuti81 no one wants to lose their shit, that’s why off lines are popular. If that was made the case then it would be impossible to raid someone with armored walls. 32 rockets for 1 wall just because they’re offline is never gonna fly. People think that everyone means to offline but the reality of the game is there’s hundreds of bases on the map, no ones gonna wait for your ass to come online just to raid you. You’re getting raided whenever the explo is done crafting and the area is calm.

Honestly, this NEEDS to come to VR, people would probably buy it just to base build and and play survival solo like The Forest, and if you can get the gunplay even remotely close to something like Pavlov, you've got an instant VR hit.
There really isn't anything like this in VR yet, and even graphics wise, it'd be a good fit, it'd be quite easy to get the frame rates needed for avoiding motion sickness in VR on most computers capable of running VR games just by tweaking a few settings, and it'd still be one of the more amazing looking games in VR by comparison, stuff like resource gathering would be about right for VR too since its not too grindy, you wouldn't be swinging an axe for days on end just get a few logs, all of the upsides would honestly counter the few downsides there'd probably be, like for example i don't know if anyone's going to want to rework the inventory system to make a built for VR inventory, so it'd probably be something more like pull trigger on box to open it and pull trigger on items to put them in same grid inventory, but on a display on your arm or something, which I'd be fine with.
The forest isn't bad, and that's not really a completely made for VR game, same deal with No Man's Sky, those games use pretty janky inventory systems that were clearly built for flat screen, as well as lacking other things real made for VR games have, but are still crazy fun to play, I really feel like Rust could be a game like that.
Edit: Also, given the modding scene for Rust, a lot of those kind of wishlist features that you don't really have time for along side other more important development could probably just be taken care of by the community, after all, we do have some pretty talented modders and plugin developers in Rusts community, you'd really only have to add in support and get the most important parts functional and it would probably still be good enough, us VR gamers are used some games being pretty janky and sub par, and honestly, even Rust in that state would still be better than a lot of VR game's out there with the same price tag.
