WWL-TV New Orleans, La. Recap of the 1987 Saints Season and how they reached the first playoff game in team history. Hosts Jim Henderson & Archie Manning.
I had season tickets in 1987 and 1989 an I don't care what anybody says, I'm telling you, the Dome patrol had that dome the loudest it ever was... That's right ever....I recall my eyes burning from the noise... I remember going to the Atlanta game week 7 in the 2009 season best season ever an still the 1987 defense had that dome louder then ever
Wow! Archie Manning and Jim Henderson together. Awesome stuff! I'm a HUGE fan of both guys, and of the Saints...of course! Thanks for posting this story! It's very rare nowadays!
Nobody called them the anint's anymore after this season. Thank them men on that field/Gridiron for putting it down and the rest of the staff in the whole organization.
Black an white fans came together back then better then ever... Of course we all still get crazy together during these years, but it was different back then...
@galaxies352 Thank you for posting so many great saints memories.we won our ring the first time out.the Vikings failed on multiple occasions.and they won't forget N.O.beat them to make it to the SB.they haven't been the same sincena
Yes..they made the NFL Playoffs for the first time ever..even got to HOST the first-round contest against the Vikings..but, man did they get clobbered..they obviously weren't ready, and lost by 34 to Minnesota in the Superdome.
I need the game films of the 1987 new orleans saints vs. chicago bears, Los angeles rams, and the st. louis cardinals from the strike year, players I am looking for is running back Dwight Beverly #47 from the new orleans saints.
I tried to get tickets at a Warehouse Records and Tapes and I was next in line. When I walked up to purchase the guy said SOLD OUT and I was not happy. But we got our ass beat so I saved some $.
The Saints did suck for many years. We made it to the playoff for the first time that year. So? Brees has been a key factor in the success of the Saints in the last 6 years. Should Saints fans have to defend that obvious fact? The day he is gone, things will be different just like any other team who loses a key player.
