Its funny because the Steelers actually returned the favor one year...I think it was 1995. Saints won every game in the preseason and went 5 - 0. They then had a bye week and faced Pittsburgh when they returned. They demolished the Saints. I dont even remember what the score was but they got like 8 sacks. It was horrible. And the Saints went on to lose pretty much every game for the rest of the season.
Michael Angelica - Actually it was 1993 that the Saints started the season 5~0~0, returned from their bye week to get plummeted by the Steelers, 37~14. It was such a beating my Saints won only three games the rest of the season finishing, 8~8~0. PS, the Saints have never finished a preseason undefeated. (1967~2019)
Saints were already contenders and they were on a roll after never having a winning season in franchise history. This goal line stand essentially knocked the Steelers out of the playoffs
@@Emmawatsonevolution that was 1993 season ...The saints ended up with an 8-8 record That was the year of that MNF game against the Giants when the HOME CROWD cheered when Wade Wilson (our QB) got hurt and knocked out the game...czcams.com/video/kvMwECIOXYs/video.html&ab_channel=bigeasybloopers
Remember this like it was yesterday. 14 years old at the time and me and my late pops jumping up and down like we won the super bowl.
Got to meet Sam Mills, an incredibly humble man.
I actually liked when the Saints had the bigger logo on their helmets
Watch Sam Mills fill gap and cease progression. Ambercrombie hits the hole timed perfectly. You cant wait.
We tell our LB's "Its always 5:59. If you wait, Itll be six."
I remember the goal line stand the saints did against the 49ers. All four downs. Around the same time but when the 49ers had Scheifer as a head coach. That was ballsy.
I was at this game up in the nosebleed
I remember watching that game at my uncle’s house. He gave me my first beer.
Ricky Jackson was dominant.
Love when black and gold plays black and gold
i remember watching this as a kid on tv..lol wow...some imaginatative play calling there on the steelers part!
Anyone else think that Mora has a striking resemblance to Morgus the Magnificent ?
😂
I was 5 years old back then when Sam mills stop them at the goal line back in 1987
What was Pittsburgh thinking? Nobody ran on the Dome Patrol.
why were they called the dome patrol ?
The Saints played their home games in the Superdome. The linebacking corps were called the dome patrol. It included HOF'er Rickey Jackson edit and Now Sam Mills
And the 1 pass play was deflected by Rickey Jackson.
Remember this all too well. Saints made an amazing goal line stand. And this ruined any playoff chance the Steelers may have had.
First time in 20 seasons team and fan knew they were winners
WD4L!
