Chess
You know I may struggle between 400-500 elo chess, but good God did this game make me feel better
Same here
Same here. I'm happy to say I have never been checkmated when I had two queens the board.
E
Me too. I'm ~500 rapid, and I saw a lot of the checks before Levy mentioned them. smh.
A good way to blunder check is to the options of every piece of both sides even if it doesn't seem to be significant at first.
"A queen in the woods must deliver the goods."
Levy ~ 2023
LMFAOOO😭😭
bro…
"... and he sacrifices THE ROOOOOOOK!!!!!!!!"
Levy ~ always
This wins the Chess corner of the internet today.
He's a poet!
And he doesn't know it.
But his feet show it.
They're longfellows.
"when you try to mate with two queens" sounds like a really fun night
That ending was even more shocking than a stalemate...
At 17:40 can’t black king get white queen ?
@@xedsity Yes he could‘ve just taken the queen 😂 This was so hilarious
Fr
Another great match.
@@xedsity no he can't because horse is protecting white queen. See carefully!
Idea for a video: you get two teams of a 2000, 1600, 1200, 800 and 400. The 2000s play the first 5 moves then hand over to the 1600s for 5 moves etc. See if the lower rated players can convert the advantage their teammates built up or if they just blunder mate in two.
What the fuck this is genius
Maybe also in reverse. Start with low rated players, to see if higher rated ones can salvage the situation
i volunteer as tribute (as the 400 rated player harharharhar)
we need this
You could prob get a good roster going with a Levy vs. Hikaru relay sub battle!
This was less a chess game and more a piece of art. It evokes a powerful drama and ends with an underdog win. It was a moving piece, but some might find suspending their disbelief a bit too difficult. Sure, it had it's share of plot holes, but it's a feel good story in the end ;)
I legit took about 5 seconds to process that the last word you said was "checkmate." With a game like this I didn't think it was possible with TWO QUEENS!!!!!
Sometimes I watch these games and think: 'that is a good move' and levi is like: 'wel that is a move so bad you wil absolutely lose'
i live in fear that one day one of my awful games gets featured on this channel
@@wezza668 Same
@hope. man that joke is awful as fk. btw nice strat editing the link in not to get filtered first. U FAT PIG
"me see pawn, me take pawn" made me giggle way too hard (even though I felt attacked)
Me see 2 pawn me take 2 pawn
"(even though I felt attacked)"
Are you a pawn ?
He says it a lot, because weaker players do it a lot.
@@Mkrabs No, I'm 760 rated.
I went through 5 stages of grief in the span of a single video. Thank you Levy, great game
Do you mean the 50 stages?
500 atleast @@Blackfromstickworld
This was awesome. So many of us newer players have no theory to support our moves and just have tunnel vision. This is the kind of video that you can watch many times to keep learning. Seeing such crazy blunders from yourself, then learning what to do and what went wrong is super informative and helpful. Thank you for having a lot of content for lower level players.
I hope your chess journey is going well
The way he describes the game always entertains me.
@YeaMan in your dreams
I mean when he analyses top gm level games, he says "I have no idea why that move was played" and when he sees low elo chess games, he says the same thing 😂😂
But yeah we love his analysis
E
Huh, it’s almost like Gothams main goal is to entertain you with the way he describes the games
When he goes ooga booga like me see pawn i take pawn
When a low ELO game gets uploaded by Levy my entire day is made.
I can make your day anytime
@@blez5418 lol. Yeah. Thank you so much for endless content.
Tbh you low elo guys and alpha zero motivate me to play chess more than GMs
@@_Insert_Username Oh yeah I just started chess my first game was like 13 mistakes 37 blunders and 13 missed wins lol. Then my second match I did only 4 mistakes and 2 blunders. On third match I beat a 800 elo guy. I don't think I will improve faster from now on I'm kinda stuck at 800-1000
E
@@blez5418 i seem to be hovering around 400 lol.. im definitely getting better but man when I start losing I keep losing
"You had three opportunities to mate" -Gotham Chess
Gotham: 2 queens are unstoppable!
Black: hold my beer
6:10 13:36 It's not every day you see a game where *both* players decline an opportunity to capture en passant. Truly fascinating.
It is prohibited
@@user-js5me1bb7i it is *forced*
holy hell!
i bet most people in this elo don't even know thats a thing you can do
What tf is en passant
Thank you levy for Making a dedicated video on it. Damn it feels good to be laughing on your own mistakes
well done having the courage to send it in to him.
how did you send it? is it just an email? or did you need to join his discord and all that?
ty lol 😅
Careful..he's a hero
Don't worry, many of us are probably worse than you.
can you please give me the link of this game, i wanna what's the accuracy you had
18:43
YOU AIN'T MATING
LMAO
This is honestly a good example to always look for checks thanks levi
People are analyzing and describing Levys stares like sommeliers talk about wine. Love it
That's an amazing analogy
I love seeing the eval bar going up and down as each player blunders mate in 1😂
That's the emotional roller coaster bar!
Made me dizzy. 😋
Stockfish literally died watching this game
i know this profile picture is pretty common, but it's still uncanny
It's flapping up and down like stockfish out of water
nothing is more humbling than realizing that my early and mid-games are exactly like this. Not end-games though, cause few pieces are easy to manage, but still
I love your narrative in these videos. It's what keeps me coming back for more. Thanks for not only being great at chess, but a great storyteller.
The ending of this game has me speechless. Truly the most awe inspiring thing I've ever seen.
Bro I said the same thing. I was like holy shit, black tried to lose this game 100 times but ended up with 2 queens…oh wait what mate in 1 😨
Today's stare was just brutal
That 1 second felt like 100 years, my soul and the veins in my body froze, it felt devious and that's what I love about it.

This is my therapy whenever I blunder mate in 1
A chess game between two high elo players, but ever other turn a low elo player gets to make a move for them
"but whatever, chess is hard" the most understandable sentence from a person with long patience
Levy’s stare was simple and nothing but effective, definitely raising my anxiety and gave a feeling of undeniable danger. 9.1/10
danger levels were raised
I agree
*Would recommend to a friend😂
did you see the 1 HR COMPILATION of him staring into OUR SOULS??
The stare was a tiny tiny bit sus
What an intense game. Two masterminds facing each other
that mate was exactly what i was thinking
Todays stare was quite intimidating, very straight forward and undeniable effective, thus leaving an individual in a state of panic
I was quaking in my boots for the whole video because of 0:00
163 likes and only 1 reply, let me fix that
Levy is growing at the speed of light right now. 3mil this month for sure

That ending felt like you just survived several near-fatal accidents in a car only to drive over a landmine and become mist. It's not just a sucker punch. It's just brain gone. I mean yea, chess hard. The emotional whiplash of the final four moves is just, wow.
"Just giving checks by accident you probably win" hahahaha, that's some sweet summer gold.
This checkmate was the best plot twist that I ever seen
That final tactic tho WHAT A MOVE
reminded me of that game between Rapport and Carlsen in World Blitz
The best chess advice I ever got was "if your planning involves the phrase 'I hope my opponent doesn't notice this', plan something else."
Meanwhile, beginners don't simplify for the following two reasons:
a) they don't know how to simplify RIGHT, and they've learned in the past that doing so leaves them with a knight and a pawn against two rooks and
b) the way they win games is by giving checks until they accidentally checkmate. The fewer pieces you have, the less likely that is to happen.
I call BS. As a 600 the “I hope they don’t notice this” is part of my middle game theory 😂😂🍻
@@boomnailedit1609 It only works if the move seems natural
I mean, I once accidentally mated my friend while trying to fork his king and rook.
9:47 one of the best chess advices I have ever got.
The ending literally had me in tears 😂
This is why we need a bullet and blitz/rapid section of chess tournaments for just 400-800 players
17:40 Ignoring a free queen capture was the most 70 ELO move to be 700 ELO
At this level I'm impressed the player knew he was allowed to move the king out of check instead of being forced to capture the queen who was checking him.
I'm dying of laughter because of the ending. I knew putting 2 queens on the same diagonal was stupid, but that was hilarious.
I’ve been watching a lot of chess tutorials recently and felt as if I’m learning a lot but watching this game just negated all of that. Thank you.
today's opening stare was rather shocking, it instilled a feeling of uneasiness in me, a true masterpiece. 11/10
“Me see pawn me take pawn” had me dying 😂😂😂 12:46
monkey see monkey do
12:40 I almost $hit my pants from laughing
no shot white realized they were gonna checkmate. it was probably one of those "why is the game over? I won?"
4:08
that bishop just moved like a knight
The bit at 9:30 was priceless! All that plus great commentary!
At 17:40 can’t the black king get the white queen ?
@@xedsity Did you hear what Levy said
@@horizon146 what did he say

@@xedsity yes he couldve but he didnt which is why it makes this game much of an eye sore for faraz.
Stockfish was probably having a stroke watching the game
"Faraz you have had 3 opportunities to mate..." a true gigachad
Todays stare was a 7/10. His broodiness seduces the eye into a state of calm whilst still striking a intimidating posture.
detoniraj se cigane my love
Me waiting for the people who put the time stamps for Levy reactions 💀
9:52 Gotham turns into Dracula
one of the best blunder games ever. I have watched this video and I watch it again because this game is so hilarious with his comments
Stockfish is having a heartattack on every move.
15:03 that eval bar 💀
"When you venture into the woods with the Queen, the Queen needs to deliver the goods..." *stares intensely into the camera* "Or else she'll get trapped."
World-class talent on display. Learn from these two greats kids
I hope Levy starts playing using the King's Gambit with white pieces and bongcloud with the black pieces regularly. What about y'all folks?! I wanna see how he does with these openings played regularly
🗿
Gotham set my page on fire
For a classic King's Gambit old match take a look at this: Anderssen vs Kieseritzky (1851)

@Goofy ahh Bots never had a dad. Joke is on you 🤦

I love these blunders , they had so many oportunities and they still don't see it
evaluation bar going for a run again
Could you please do another opening ideas/plans introduction series… maybe even with a rating climb? I really learned a lot and enjoyed them :)
Maybe a "gambits-only" run? I'd love that!
Yes please
19:33 I love how to bar shifted towards white from black in just ONE MOVE !!!
Oh my god, never laughed this much ever in my life by watching any kind of digital media... You made my day lol. Keep making these kind of videos :D

Bro i just love these 700elo, cuz they are always a roller coster of emotions and fun
There were more ups and downs in this chess game than a heart monitor
18:37 LMAO 😂😂😂
"Just to make super super sure. Black puts both queens on the same diagonal..."
Levy whimpering "Faraz, please..." had me rolling
This is how 700 elo works got me rolling everytime 😂😂
19:44 dude i just burst out laughing whaaaat
I actually felt as emotionally exhausted as Levy looked through the highs and lows of that match. However my stomach curdles at the thought of him evaluating one of my games!
idk, it would be pretty hard for you to fuck up worse than this game. My dad didn't even know about pawn promotion and he still played better than this
17:46
I was actually wheezing (not in the laughing kind of way) at this move. I think that is literally the worst possible move in that situation, and it's impressive to see it played.
Ka6 is worse because it's mate in 1 for white on the next move.
Kc6 is bad, but at least you're not getting checkmated.
@@patrickm1It's still mate in 4.
Bro was so mad he straight up just ended the video, no outro or nothing
That end game man! 😂
Levy’s stare - simple yet effective. The eyebrow raise hinted a scent of playfulness and mischievousness. 8.5/10
Levy is obviously so shocked that he didn't even say "get out of here"
Sometimes with those midgame checkmate sequences when it's like mate in 4 I have a really hard time finding it. Then I'll review it and it makes perfect sense. It's really frustrating not being able to see it during the game when it's a midgame checkmate
The moment I saw Nd6, I knew that was exactly how it was gonna end lmfao, it was just too perfect
Black has 2 queens on the opposite corner of the board and white checkmated with a queen and a knight while the white king is chilling on the other side of the board is just a beautiful skill
Thank you Levy. This is by far the best CZcams video Ive watched this year. I laughed waaaaaay too hard watching this
The eval bar makes this video so much better
Watching these videos brought my elo from 1100 to 600 thank youuu
White saw that last move
He is indeed a GM
I think I could take a random person off the street, teach them all the pieces in 5 minutes, and get them to perform better than what I just witnessed. Holy crap
this is the beauty of playing low elo players: you never resign because anything can happen
This was like the most egregious 700 elo chess matches out there, me and Levy suffered watching this.
hey @GothamChess I became ur student when i was 800 and that was like in June 2022 and now with ur guidance and teachings I hv reached 1320 elo

i play vienna with white pieces and caro kaan with black
So i wud just like to thank you for all ur support
This is glorious^^
Its like playing a board game for the first time after just having learned the rules
that ending was so shocking than the bishop eating the queen
Ironically 5 elo chess is closer to mittens than any of us will ever be 😂😂
I laughed out loud so many times! Great video, Gotham!!
3:00 levy just made me look up many men buy 50 cent. This lead me down a 5hr youtube rabbit hole, and i have class in a few hours
In 300-900 you either get a massive stalemate down to 2 minutes, or someone blunders a queen on a pawn take. this match is something else
The G2 pawn watching this disaster unfold as it never moves the whole match
