Mickey and Johnny are both legends from another time. There will never be real country music made like this again. A few mentioned George Straight and Allen J. I put Alabama in there also but there are so many.
To the shitty comments, it happens to all of us. You will get old and broke down someday too. They may be famous but they are real people with real lives.

"There will never be real country music made like this again." NOT TRUE. There is most definitely real country music still being made. You're not likely to hear it on commercial radio though. Check out Tyler Childers, Ashley McBryde, Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson, Cody Jinks among others.

I have only KIND thoughts and words for these guys. Great to see them...I did not know about Mickey's injury and so glad he has made it back. We all change in life, why is there a need to post hurtful comments about how someone looks! An old saying that youngsters don't know "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

Sherwood Cryer took a local nobody named Mickey Gilley - gave him HALF of a club named it Gilleys after ' Mick the prick '. Once Urban Cowboy the movie was released became known throughout the world Gilley got cocky & forgot his Sherwood Cryer friend. Mickey Gilley did not kill Sherwood Cryer - he broke his heart & allowed him to die a slow & painful death.

That is bullshit. Gilley had a local following before Gilley's and you forget Cryer took 50% of Mickey & Johnny's earnings. Cryer ran all of Johnny Lee's finances & spent all of the money Johnny earned. Cryer was money hungry.

Gilley's original pedal steel player, J. B. Van, died about 15 years ago.
