Right?
A few months ago I decided to replace the battery on my iPhone X and sincerely, it was the best feeling I’ve had in a while (I know it’s a simple repair, but felt daunting at first) you guys do a great job at making you feel confident on what you’re doing and also the tools are of stunning quality.
Nice job on the repair! I fix consoles but I'm looking at fixing phones maybe. But I'm wondering if it would be much harder.
@@HD-wf3bp do you still fix consoles ?
@@mansoormahamud6122 Yes but since than I focucess mainly on ps5.4 Xbox one,x and Joy con controllers.
@@HD-wf3bp oh nice. I was asking mainly because my Xbox one S HDMI port is damaged, and needs to be replaced. I wanted to know if you could help me with that , lol
Hey man , i’m trying to do the same here can u tell me what tools did you need to do the work ? Thanks in advance
I honestly believe that ifixit have perfected it's art of repairing to such an extent that they can start their own school at this point. Great work.
They should start writing their own custom iphone os to complete the iphone repair cycle😅
100000000% Agreed!
Apple: We are a green company.
Also Apple: NO REPAIRS.
Ye$
Apple: We want to reduce charger waste.
Also Apple: No charger in box, so you need to buy another charger that comes in another box, creating more packaging and more waste than before.
Ikr, its sad virtue signaling
Haha. So true and sad.
@@darthraider450 Actually, Apple will give you free cable (which doesn’t fit your earlier charger) to help you make your decision easier (buying a charger)
#6 Every time you repair your phone an angel gets its wings
That long screw is a trap !
I hope iFixit will have authorised repair and parts here in the Philippines. A lot of people here still uses an old iphone since most of us cannot really afford to buy a newer models
Can you put me in touch with some wholesale buyers? I sell iphones for a living and I can sell them cheaper to you guys. Maybe you can earn a small profit per iPhone sold for connecting us
Difficult and frustrating even if you do complete the repair successfully... sigh.
For activation lock you dont necessary need the previous owner's password. Just ask them to remove the device from their new iPhone and you will be fine.
Assuming you CAN contact the owner
@@poopyjohn8182 right, but im just clarifying because I've heard stories of people giving up like "i know him but he doesn't want to share his password"
Its sad because a lot of the time the previous owner is impossible to contact meaning a decent device is just ewaste for the sake of AnTi tHeFt
@@poopyjohn8182 and assuming that the owner wants to.
who says they got a new IPHONE???
Good video. Thanks for showing how Apple makes repair difficult. Special screws and parts programmed to the board.
This is why supporting right to repair is important. There is currently no way to get parts from Apple and even using a genuine screen from another iphone will give you problems. Watch Louis Rossmann.
Activation lock bypasses do exist (kind of) for the iPhone 5S to iPhone X, but they're kind of expensive if you want SIM cards to work
You' not lying because I fixed iPhones and android in Chicago and let me tell you Apple makes it harder for you fixed .. .. Excellent video .. ..
Denatured alcohol works better than isopropyl on adhesive.
Now activation Lock can be bypassed. And the phone will work normally. I'm myself using a locked iPhone. I bought it thinking that it was ok. But the seller played to me. So I had only 2 options, lose all the money, or buy a bypass for €50. I bought the bypass and can tell the phone is working just fine.
can you tell me exactly how you did it ? i might need that in the future
BRAVO !!!! AS ALWAYS !!!!! I-FIX-IT IS THE REAL MC COY !!!!
Thank you for your advices!
Yo! You guys are about to hit one MILLION
Hello
I enjoy fixing devices, but none of the listed tricks in this video really help me
My problem is I tend to break something while actually opening it
How do I deal with this problem? It is fine when replacing the screen, since I am getting rid of the old one anyway so it's fine if it cracks more, but what about other problems?
3:38 Cherckra1n bypass would work
Only up to the iPhoneX especially if it’s iCloud locked
Hey iFixit there is european store but I want to know when iFixit stores open in Poland
Thanks for this video!
My iPad is my first and last apple device!
What a great vid. Thanks for all you do!
The main thing that I don’t like is the amount of different screws
I'd recommend laying down the screws in the order you took them out, in a vertical or horizontal line, as well as in the general relative position they were inside the phone. That way, when you put it back together, you just follow the line back to when you first started taking out the screws.
@@gold4963 that’s pretty much what I do, but it is still confusing sometimes
If you don’t like the amount of iPhone screws try opening up a Samsung, it’s worse
dude, how do i find parts that don't cost more than the actual phone im trying to fix n flip
Buy stolen or locked 🔒 phones for part.

GOOD
The adhesive is important for water resistance so I am glad it’s there.
thank your for this video
Replaced battery screen is on but touch commands don’t respond
Good work
No talk how the iPhone 12 locks itself and become unusable after any repair done to it?
The best reason not to purchase APPLE products
Very simple solution.
Place a blanket ban on all APPLE products
If you had so called friends that treated you with such disrespect,
disregard you would have 'nothing' to do with them.
Yet people allow them-self to be beaten by the APPLE Stick, robbed,
and smile with great joy at being sodomized.
Just bend over some more.
Hello, I am trying to get my iPhone 11 out of recovery mode. My dad dropped it and cracked the screen, when we replaced it we tried to get it out of recovery mode. We tried to update it but there isn’t enough storage left and we also tried to factory reset it but it says “The disk could not be read from or written to”. If you could help me that would be great!
So now im confused do i need a lcd phone screen heater to open up the phone or not?
To remove the adhesive yeah, but you can use a hot-air gun or a hair dryer
Hi.. on a iPhone 8 can you use a official screen after using a fake one?
Hello I was wondering if my phone can be fixed?
I have an iPhone X and I bought it from one of my friends for $100 because it was pretty broken. He told me "it works, it just turns off by itself sometimes". When I first bought it nothing really happened until a few weeks later. After 2 months I left it charging and I came back to it being stuck on 0%. We went to a phone repair store and they said it was a "battery problem" obviously we said sure and paid the man $70 for him to change it. After he changed it, it was working for 1 hour until it immediately got back to 0%. Now to my question again. Is there another way of fixing it?
Nice video
very nice
Wonderful
Are there schools that teach how to repair phones and tablets and other tech
Why don’t you talk about striping the pentalobe screws and how to fix them 🤔
How do you fix stripped screws dude. You stripped them 😂
Just follow fairphone model.
Nice
Cool
Never fixing it myself. Good job apple. Tesla also doesn’t like noob repairs.
Its possible to do I have completed 2 tablet and 2 phone repairs so far, you will have to put up with all the BS these corporations throw at you though.
I’m looking for toolkit with Indian price , not over priced US price
I was taking apart my iPhone 8 and because of a hidden screw I broke the board and the phone will not turn on
Usually the types of people who buy new iphones are the same types who buy a diferent iphones when the first one does not work.
I think they removed the unable to verify battery warning
They removed all warnings from the notification bar but the warnings still exist in the settings
Do a video on checkra1n iCloud bypass
Typical-love -hate …
Scotty!!!!
What’s wrong with warnings?
Nc
Is Apple going to make all of these parts available? Official Apple parts?
Bruh you can buy a logic board with no activation lock on it
I’m confused why you guys can’t offer just a replacement screen without a kit everyone, it looks like it have to buy a kit everyone I buy a replacement screen
Buy a android! And not apple products!, Right to repair is what we need!.A reason i will stick with my note 10 plus and my galaxy buds, buds live and buds plus earbuds.Ifixit has every part you need to tackle your own repair!.They even have batterys for your smartwach too!.
Still waiting for the S22, hope it releases soon so I can say bye-bye to Apple crap
Fix these nuts
Deez nuts
it's crazy that people still buy apple products.
❤️
1-5 :Don't buy Apple's crap products
Right to repair. Lets fight Apple
AKA.....thanks for nothing Apple!!
Idk if anybody else has had this problem but every time I have replaced my screen or had it fixed at an non apple place the SIM card reader starts acting funny
Apple should be able to put those non-genuine messages inside the operating system, but the iPhone should function normally regardless of the parts replaced.
I decide if he gets 4k likes
Right to repair very important, but apple try to keep you away of repairable.
People will be kicking themselves in few weeks,if they miss the opportunity to buy and invest in crypto.
Most intelligent word I've heard
Crypto is the new gold
I wanted to trade Crypto but got discouraged by the fluctuations in price
@@luisito_comunica88 That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like Mr Charles Schwab
My first investment with MR CHARLES SCHWAB earned me profit of over $250,530 US dollars, and ever since then he has been delivering
This is why I'll never buy apple.
DON'T buy Apple!
i can remove icloud, its not even a new thing anymore. Good money removing them too guys.
I don't like Apple.

Yea, just don't buy apple products.
My two cents worth is this. This is an antirepair video. I'm saddened that this video was created. I run a phone repair shop and fixing phones is not for everyone. You guys made it abuntly clear about these issues in all of your videos. Sounds like a complaining video.
Unfortunately, the truth hurts and everything in this video is correct.
@@darthraider450 there is truth that needs to be spoken and some that is better left unsaid. This video proves how much Apple "respects" repair technicians and their customers.
Ironically many repair business rely on the iPhone. I’m not saying to make repair harder but the quality that you get from a certified repair shop is unmatched. Also this isn’t 5 things you should know. It’s more like 5 things apple put in the iPhone to prevent you from repairing it
To conclude: samsung is better
I implore you to look into the requirements for the repair of a modern Samsung phone. While in the past they were significantly easier to repair at home, nowadays simple replacements like battery and screen are just as difficult, if not more so, than Iphones; additionally, the replacement parts are often significantly more expensive in recent years.
You and I likely hold a similar view on right to repair issues and tech design in general, but boiling down that discussion to "x company good, y company bad" rather than addressing the core, profit-motivated issues that ALL companies are motivated to pursue, we won't get anywhere toward a solution.
@@micahraney732 you know nothing
@@MK-ls2jg have you ever noticed how often Samsung uses permanent adhesive to keep the battery in place instead of pull tabs?
Yeah their ovens are pretty good imo
Battery tabs are one example. Screen repairs on anything past a Galaxy S6 are brutal nowadays. On most of the modern ones, you're stuck with either an impossibly thin screen to firmly seal in place without bending the LCD, or you have to spring for a full frame repair - and that's after the backglass removal and complete disassembly. I hate Apple as much as the next Ifixit viewer, but at least I don't have to disassemble the entire phone to replace a screen.
