I love that you took the time to match the shape of the frame to the electronics box. Excellent work. Next!!!

Once again Dan another master class on fabrication, it's great to hear the way you explain how you do things rather than just doing them, keep up the fantastic work mate 👍👍👍

Colin Taylor thank you mate, it’s great to know my explanation makes sense, I try and keep it simple, sometimes I shoot the same scene a few times just to keep it short and to the point :) I edit my videos the way I would want to watch them if I was new to bike Building and wanted to learn :)

Adam McNutt 100% agreed, it’s simple, fast and easy to use :)

Using cardboard is a good, cheap and flexible method to find the right shape. Not to mention how it visulaizes to support our imagination. Easy to find out if one's on the right track. Weld done! ;-)

John MĂ„rd you are 100% correct, just got to find somewhere to put the cereal if you haven’t finished it before chopping up the box lol 😂

So funny to see you having a RC buggy in the video! I used to race RC buggy's (4wd electro 1/10 scale) professionally for over 7 years when I was young. I even won the Dutch championship in 1992. We have a lot in comon!

Nice! Can’t wait to see how you weld those pieces together without blowing through the metal. That’s my biggest struggle with fabricating these. Still haven’t figured it out.

      @CafeRacerGarage  Pƙed 6 lety +1

      Peter Kowalinski thanx mate,
Try stitch welding and don’t try and weld it all in one go. Test a pce of metal with the welder turned right down

Iv just finished a 1984 CB250n that I got for $300 sold as a parts bike, had a very small budget but didn't do anything as awesome as yours.... Just paint, patched exhaust and got everything running :) And now looking at a 1987 cbx750f budget build like the CX500. From NZ :)

noooooooooo - go with the battery mounted down by the rear-swingarm pivot - it'll be so cool PLUS you won't need to worry about lengthening the power cables :)

    Hey man how you doing
my name is Erman Steiner, i am living in austria and i am a recent fan of your youtube channel.
I have a big problem. I am 6.3'' (192cm) and i am a biker rookie. i am making my license right now. I fell i love with the traditional scrambler style bikes with the modern looks. But as my first bike i want to build a scrambler during the winter here.
my question: what would be a good base for a scrambler for my size? it has to be 500cc preferably more, and preferably air-cooled. And i love kickstarters
i really want a big size (frame) scrambler to fit me. i dont want to look like im riding a pocket bike. also it has to be comfortable because i want to be able to ride tours occasionally. I checked many forums and i ended up with two options 1. The suzuki KLR 650 or 2. Honda NX Dominator 500 - 650
but i like to hear your opinion. What to look at? Maybe more cc ? (bit i am not a speed junkie although i want to able to ride on highways and overtake if Necessary etc. etc.
    Greetings From Austria
    kind regards
    Erman

First up a big thank you, It's very hard for me to give you an answer on the best bike because of a few factors, 1. your budget 2. your skill on building bikes and what tools, knowledge along with what you want to do with it for eg: cut and weld the frame, front end swap, change wheel size ect ect. as you can see its not easy for my to give you the right answer, however a scrambler is a great bike for tall guys like us, (Im 6.2") as they naturaly sit higher off the ground making them taller and look normal, my advice is to find a bike brand/model that you know has been converted into what you what so jump onto pintrest and look up scramblers, Spend a lot of time doing this so you can be sure its the right bike for you, nothing worse than buying a bike that you find out later cant be changed into what you want. remember you can always change the position of the handlebars to suit your size and id go sit on a few bikes if you can just to see how they feel but your on the right track with doing your research first :) I cant give you the exact bike that will be the best choice for you but I love the Yamaha XT 600 as a scrambler :) its a kick start too 👍
