I love Lukas and POTR♥️! I can’t get enough of these wonderful artists and Lukas! I know he will be exactly like Willie and Neil Young with a twist! And he already has been recognized at the Grammys. I was wondering why he isn’t recognized by the CMA’s and other awards shows. I know why. Dad taught him well- how to be a leader for your band and yourself. Told him how to be the one to choose his own future AND for the POTR-and he listened as I have seen where band members are introduced to the audience and they play alone! To be chosen by Bradley Cooper and Lady GaGa for help is amazing to me. All of the work he and POTR did for BradleyCooper and Lady GaGa blows my mind. He already has performed on stage with dad and Neil Young since 13. He was interviewed and said he and Micah were told they could do school online or in person. Lukas didn’t prefer online but Micah did. So Lukas evidently went to school in Maui and graduated high school there. Micah finished online. They were raised in Texas AND Hawaii, but Lukas said his dad was leaving on tour so mom and the boys went also. I hear so much of Neil Young and Willie in his singing. It’s like being a folk singer. Your songs all have a message. Lukas said he shares a dog with his band member who lives very close to him in Maui. He has known him since school. So if one is gone traveling, he keeps the dog, and if the other was gone, they take the dog. They were both in Maui remodeling Lukas’s house-adding a solar powered hot water heater and a rack for Lukas’s surf boards! Lukas had mud or yard soil all over his feet and legs! Exactly what we did at 101*!! It looked so funny! I don’t know why Lukas goes barefoot but we sure did! Texas kids just do! I was either on a horse, on the beach, or swimming with the swim team at the club. We would walk on hot pavement 5 houses down the street to the neighbors house to jump in their pool! If we were lucky we would see grass with no stickers and jump on that for a minute to cool our feet. We just did! Flip flops ruled in summer! Oh and the South Texas Gulf of Mexico’s beach. Every weekend! Love you guys! Lukas is paying tribute to his dads “Georgia”. It’s beautiful 😍

Willie has so much to be proud of, first of all, his own long awesome career followed by all of is children's awesome music knowledge ! They learned and were taught by the BEST !

He wasn't the best dad but he was mine. It's never easy going through a loss like that. Mine gave up on life. Been listening to your dad for as long as I can remember. He looks a lot like my grandpa Baker, my grandpa was in the Air Force... Gave some of his flags from the war he was in to my local VFW. Hope you're having fun wherever you might be playing.

Haha....I was at a country gig recently, where they subbed in for someone else, last minute(I drove like a mad fool four hours just to see them). The audience was mostly older folks, big old white c'boy hats, etc. They had no clue. By the end of the POTR set, everybody around me was frantically Googling Lukas Nelson. Tore it up, they did!
+ Bruce, was that the ArtPark concert? I'm from Roch, and called friends telling them they simply had to go! "Trust me"! They did, and are hooked! Others will see him in Saratoga in 2 weeks.
+KC- Kathy yes it was at artpark. it rained and he had to cut short a little bit but they had everyone hooked before the storm. I saw them at farm aid last year and their growth has been incredible.
Lukas sounds much better when playing an electric guitar. I think he has the sound & talent of a Stevie Ray Vaughn. He can sound like Willie when covering Willie’s songs but he is such a talented song writer on his own he just needs to move forward with his own talent.
