      I needed to cap a weld today on a gantry I am building, and in the past, my weld caps were ugly bad. I watched this video and tried the counting and only watching the left side. That really worked and kept me from losing concentration. The caps I welded today were the best I have ever done. Thank you for the instruction!

    Thank you for the knowledge.What i love about these welding pro videos is all the welders wear basic welding lids, nothing fancy or exspensive.The latest lids go for $400.

    Counting is a good habit to have on vertical. I'm an ironworker so thats like 75% of my welds for damn near 20 years I've been counting like that

    Wire wheel vs hand brush depends on the weld. I’ve saved myself lots of grief and grinding by wire wheeling a socket weld while hot slagged. But a cap on x ray pipe I would never touch with a grinder. Only hand tools like a brush and file if wagon tracks are allowed. Much respect to the old timers ways. Great welding!

      wire wheel that bitch, saves you time and makes you more money. i worked at a job where they'd pay per weld so faster the better. & dont be jumpin the pipe either boi

    • @jeepwk6.5L
      @jeepwk6.5L Před 4 lety

      john dowe fuck that. I barely brush mine. I knock my slag off (mainly the toe) with my file and a quick pass with a brush faster than you could get untangled from your cord lol. Wire wheel takes away the beauty of a good looking weld.
      But I also get paid to take pride in my work, sounds like that isn’t the case for you
      To each his own

    • @jeepwk6.5L

      Lol no. Not to be sarcastic but propane is flammable. Not a shielding gas. It would make a cool flame thrower though. Do you mean helium?
