Excellent procedure shown dear mate. So you didn't bore the cylinder instead only replaced the compression and oil scrapping rings as older went worn out?
yup, i blew mine up real good, now the engine is in the machine shop and I'm going to find out tomorrow hopefully what size pistons and rings and bearings I need to order
Hey I just wanted to ask how you got the lip off top of the piston wall? I've got to get mine back together. Please your help will help me get back going.
did you check your cylinder walls and mic your crank to make sure its rebuildable?
@garysmart1 There is a mark on the oil pump behind the balancer and the crank jetway should be straight up at tdc
Nice work that's how it was always done back in the day. Yeah fancy gadgets are nice but when you are on a budget you work with what you have and can afford.
nice video! question did you hone out the block before putting in the new positions
hi there,
i am running into a little problem just wondering if you could help. I swapped mazda3 2006 2.3L engine with mazda5 2.3L that came with its wiring and all that however when i start it turns over but doesnt start. Would really appreciate if you know on what else do i need to do to get this working. Thank you kindly
How did you make out?
Did you machine the piston cylinders, if not how do you know when you need to machine them? how many engines have you rebuilt? I haven't done one yet, but I'd like to one day.
What do you do if the piston is too loose in the cylinder? Do u go with larger pistons?
you didnt use a feeler gauge to check your ring gap to see if they were within tolerence?
Hello I have Mazda B2200 is consume verymuch gasoline, is recomendable change the carburetor original ? for weber ,how much milles for gallon is consume the weber 32/36 ? thanks regards
man wish you were still here to help with my swap. RIP airbag Joe....
What happened?
please help me how diagnose faults of the car at the first time?
Hey this truck runs like a champ.....i just seen him yesterday at msa in conway arkansas....
Hey, I want to expand my knowledge beyond learning from listening to someone. I'm more of a hands of guy, If I wanted to rebuild/fix an engine, which one would you suggest? I'm not loaded with money and would like to keep the price lower but I want to have an engine I can have pride in and maybe get a profit out of it. Thanks. Also I researched and I read that a 350 small block or a Holden 202 would be the best for a first timer and an engine that is not so complex.
I used the chilton and Haynes manual from local parts place. The link works now. I forgo they added a "g" in the trucking name recently. The manuals tell you step by step how to do it too
@moofushu No I didn't machine them. I've built about 4 or 5 of these. I'm not really sure when to machine them but I do know the lip at the top of the cylinder tells you how much it's wore
hows the truck running?
whats the website again? thank you
good job ilke itkeep it up
I can't believe I couldn't figure that out on my own lol. Thank you sir
How much did that cost u. Did u jus pressure wash the block instead of takin it to a machine shop? Did you resurface the heads? I hav a 89 b2200 4sale wit a blown engine. I rather fix it & keep it around as a spare truck but don't wanna spend over $1,000 for a rebuilt. I'd rather spend least amount as possible? Any advice look me up on ebay classified buford ga 89 b2200 for sale. Thanks
The music!! i love this guy.
loving the acdc halfway throught the vid!
how do you knew the top dead center... i knew it pointing somewhere else. But my point is is the piston up to tell top dead center
Soon as I saw the wood chisel, that was me done!
Me too
And me, was close when he said “ these have marks for up and down but don’t really matter which way they go” when fitting the rings.
im gonna buy u a piston ring compressor! lol XD
buy rly good video, answered a few of my questions
is that a single or double cam motor? is it the zetec?
It's the single cam F2 engine.
good vid mate
how much did this all cost you?
@1972FordF150 Thanks for watching. This half ass rebuild is still kickin. Drove over 4000 miles in it so far.
Merry Christmas and a happy new
is it your first time to do this by yourself
Still running perfect
youre not checking ring gap?
good stuff man more vids. thanks
What is it at 10:53?
@abhilodha ????
Where did you get those rims.?
Boss wheels, google Boss 313s
your suppose to prime the oil pump also since its done dry
thanks , good job and easy
always wondered how to "backyard" get those pistons back in without specialty tools
cheers mate :D
putting pistons in like that seems like a high risk of bending the rings...and nothing about assembly lube or anything
Still runs just fine today. No smoke. No problems
Joseph Wilkins Is it still running now though? LOL
Alex Dao still kickin
lol im pretty sure the rings r marked with a letter and yes that is supposed to b facing upnot just any way lol there is slots in the ring that face down
@garysmart1 I've rebuilt 5 of these
@Qaasim830 The rings where worn. Engine smoked.
I did pressure wash it. The motor only had bad rings and a bad head. I replaced the head and just re ringed it. Prolly less than $200. I never took it to a machine shop for anything. Basically the total cost of this rebuild was about $200
If you're going to do a complete rebuild and go to all of this trouble, replace the rod and crankshaft bearings. Take a micrometer, or take to a machine shop and have them mic-out the crankshaft, camshaft, engine block, and various other areas of potential wear. They'll know what to look for.
How you people make it look so easy,and when i need to do it is so hard.HAHAHA
How much does a rebuild usually cost?
OEM? I'd say 3500-5000. I had some quotes
For a pro to do it
now this is what I call junk yard rebuild but indeed good job man my hat is off to u
@theformulaman1 The oil pump pick up.
the way you toss things around when your done showing it to the camera + the way you talk = LOL
Where do you find Step by step list of engine components when rebuilding a engine.So you dont forget what to put on next
@leepbc08 No clue what they are. And yes eBay is
I had a chisel as a shifter in my first 57 chevy (I STILL HAVE THE CHISEL)
The link doesnt work
@kkkchick :-) welcome
How much you charge me to repair the black b2200 engine that is in the photo?
Dude. That's the third time you asked. Shut up and answer my question the first time you asked
Listen friend I'm technical, but do not have the time to do it.
Joseph Wilkins
Now that was silent was you, you have the guts to abrar like you're the only one who save and you ate your tongue. LOL
@vdubbub1986 Alittle insult with a compliment lol. Thank you sir indeed. Just an FYI I've drive it almost 4000 miles. Still perfect
Well thanks for watching anyway :D, Theres alot i didnt show on this video
@jawbraeka Weird. Ill have to give him a listen again lol. I don't remember what he sounds like
I knew that was from ebay before you say that! i really don't like the gasket set on that green box, and the piston rings on the yellow (NPR)
That chisel as a ring compressor 😂
Kudos
Sweet. I didn't know that. I did know ford probes are the same too. Well the block is the same. Not the heads
dial gauge is needed to check the diameter and the condition on the cylinder walls diameter should be the same all the way
nice one
@Michael Francis Didn't hone
@Starky Guerrero English? Maybe?
"Somewhere on here there is a mark indicating up and down, but it looks the same so I guess it doesn't matter." Personally, I would put it in the correct way.
yah nice one, i've learnt something new, how to put the piston in without a piston ring compresser....
@kalebthompson8990 Thank ya :-)
@Kylef7735 I know google very well
I don't mean to be an ass, but I probably am. But what the hell kind of a half assed rebuild was this? installing pistons with a chisel to compress the rings, didn't hone the cylinders from what I saw. And I didn't see you install new bearings either.
fan outside :D
Great Video but why are you rebuilding the engine? What happen to it
diablo amano pones los aros de piston
Ring compression tool and mallet, It's the little things that kill and if you tear it down to re-ring and don't replace the all the bearings you're foolish. other than that good video.
i am novice in engine rebuild but this engine is supposed to explode soon :) nice video anyway
Wait... the shop doesn't charge to measure pistons or other parts? My mechanic charge 150 bucks , he saying
@epidemia2007 you people?!? What you mean you people?!? Lol. I've done it proly 5 times now. It becomes something close to breathing lol
@faisal hamza Good entertainment ain't it lol
I have 1993mazda929 , it's the same engine ,
i would have used a ring compressor u can rent one for 8 dollars
At the extreme very least you should have honed the cylinders.
people gonna bitch how you didnt use the proper things but if you a regular person building an engine than you dont need all those tools
Где купить такой новый маслянный насосс?????????????????????????????????????В Украине....
you rebuild it the raw way
There is this magical thing called google. it will answer your question very well.
@jarrod4020 Wtf are you on? Get your trollin ass of my comment section geeez
ebay is the shiiit huh!!! and are those piston rings from engine tech?
9 times out of 10 people will pull the engine out of the vehicle and realize they are in way over their heads and the vehicle will sit for years before it gets towed to a junk yard .
smh. ive never seen pistons put in like that. should of re honed the bores
not it's the same too
still running now? lol
ORRORE!!!
thanks :) :)
nuts ...... nuts
mindingo . nem a cinta de anéis ele tem huahuahuahua . poderia ter tirado o vira e dar uma boa lavada em tudo
