360 mopar is a beast when built
Very well explained, the logic makes monetary sense. You've saved money by not spending unnecessarily, yet still built some very powerful 360's.
360 magnum is one of the all time best badass pushrod engines. Smoke a hemi all day long for cheap.
They're bulletproof. Love my 01 Ram 1500 5.9.
I like both, and both have their good points. Magnums are more common to find now for cheap.
Man that ole 88 Dakota was a beast! I wish we were making vids back then, would have been fun to share that with the audience.
I had a 1998 5.9 limited jeep grand cherokee i bought for 800$, it had 250k miles and ran solid for 2 years until I sold it. Definitely was one of the most reliable engines I've owned & driven
Haha love the comment âback thenâ try building a Mopar engine back in the 80âs like I did. There was nothing much for us from the after market companies. So much more now
I put a 87 la 318 in my 87 Dakota with a ax15 back in 2013. Been a strong dependable daily driver for 7 yrs . Iâm gonna be swapping in a 94 magnum 360 with a 518 transmission from a 94 b350 van with 111,000 original miles . I canât wait to see the difference đ
The 360 crate engine was advertised at 380 horsepower it was basically a stock engine with a bigger cam with a four barrel intake
I just love MOPAR... MOPAR or no car!!
I love the whole LA family....and the magnums....just missed getting a 98 magnum but I'll try again!
I'm currently building a 360 magnum for my Dodge D100. This technically a street truck I'd like to race when I have time. My 360 has stock heads and lower end but put in a set of Hughes magnum valve springs/ retainers, custom grind comp cams camshaft with 513 intake and 520 exhaust, edelbrock air gap intake, 750 Willys carb, chevy style HEI distributor, and a set of hedman headers. It is still hooked to the stock 904 trans, stock 8 1/4 axle with 3.21 gears but has a sure grip now. I currently just bought a 727 trans and a 8 3/4 axle with 3.23 sure grip but not sure when I will swap them. Not sure what it will run in the 1/4 or the 1/8 mile but should be way better than the old factory TBI 318.
I live right up the road in Panama City Florida it's nice to see somebody running a magnum motor
Just bought a magnum for $450 converting it to a carburetor and putting in my 81 d15 stepside
magnums also used moly rings, so the bores still have crosshatching even after 200k miles.
Keep up the great work Iâm building a 93 d150 with a 360
360's are alright but I'm a LA fan the 340 and it's little brother the 318 is my favorites I like the short stroke they have
I did a 360 magnum in my 79 Ramcharger back in 2011. M1, Hughes 208/214 cam, Tri-Y Thorley headers and a NV4500/Dana 300. 4.56s and 35s. Part time 83 axles. I kept the cam small because it gets driven long distance to go wheeling. San Diego to Moab and back several times, Baja and all over the southwest.
Buying a 318 magnum to swap into my 85 d150. Thanks for the info man
