Hell yeah bro, all metal is good metal \m/! Everybody’s got their own opinions and preferences about it and there’s something for everyone :) Personally, what defines something as metal FOR ME is how hard hitting it can sound. It can groove and build up tension, make you wanna go outside and like fight a tree or just do something ACTIVE to get all of the energy out, while keeping the spirit of the music alive which is something I truly appreciate about the art form. It’s part of the reason why I love newer bands like After the Burial and Wage War, they just bring the heat and bring it HARD!

I mostly listen to Slipknot, Mushroomhead, recently FFDP, Disturbed, Ozzy, and A7X. There may be a few bands I left out but this should give a good idea as to the metal I listen to the most.

U are all noobs XD the first metal song was "u really got me" from the Kings. First song with powerchords and a distorted sound and played in metal style. That was 1964.
The first time a band get the brand heavy metal is was Cream. The first heavy metal band named so was Blue Cheer.
We all know this "heavy metal thinger" from steppenwolfs born to be wild song, this was the first time the word pop up in lyrics.
Hendrix clear was inviter of distorted sound in a new context and is and influenced metal massive.
Did u know Alice Cooper with his Band had his album out in 1969? Iron Butterfly, two albums 1968.
Other artist not so popular i not will name now but Black Sabbath was sure not the first heavy metal band. People got knowledge from music will also realize BS is no typical rock band because they more was an unconventional jazz-/jazz-rock band.
