- Momotaro suddenly pours sand on Genki. I saw this behavior for the first time. I could not understand why.
Momotaro then approaches Genki on the beam as if to apologize.
On this day, Momotaro gave the impression that he was being a handful to his eldest son, Gentaro. Momotaro himself appears to be perplexed by his lack of experience.

The Momotaro family were all born and raised in Japan!
Momotaro (father) was born on Jul 3, 2000
He came to the Kyoto City Zoo in 2010.
Genki (mother) was born on June 24, 1986.
I was born in Kyoto and came back to Kyoto.

To me Momotaro's "sand throwing" actually looked like a reaction. Maybe an insect was crawling on his hand and he reacted quickly trying to fling it off. In any case, he realized Genki took the brunt of the flying dirt and was very cute when we went over to apologize. Proud of you Papa Momo. Even us big guys need to show some soft spots of forgiveness sometimes😅

At 3:30 Genki is still very nervous. You can see her right arm twitching, especially her upper arm, and she flinches several times. When Momo gets up to move off she actually ducks and cowers. Poor kid.
I must have missed where Momo threw sand at Genki? It's funny that when Gentaro is being naughty, he sucks his lips in,, and ,,when Kinny is being naughty or around his mom or dad, Kinny sticks his lips out. So cute to see that big teddy bear Momo sing, at 6:26. The temperature there must have dropped enough that they all seem more active. and comical lol.

Actually it wasn't sand -- there's a big log in the yard which is slowly rotting and falling apart into small pieces. In other videos I've seen Kintaro sitting at that log and pulling pieces of it and dragging his hand across the top of it to break more little pieces off. At 0:49 Momo is on that log and suddenly rakes the top of the log with his hand towards Genki, which flicks little pieces of the log at her.

Genki minds her own business all the time but still becomes Momotaro and Kiyo's target when they are frustrated. Next it will be the little one. Good man Momotaro admit you were wrong. They are like a gorilla version of a human drama. 😍🦍🦍🦍

Hahaha Momotaro tossed sand at Genki to say how do you like sand thrown at you 😂😂( I love this troop all of them this is my number 1 gorilla troop). Because he love’s Genki he actually apologized 🤯🤯❤❤ Momotaro is a very loving husband/silverback and tries his best to be a great dad ❤❤❤ Gentaro if was in the wild he would be making or finding his own bachelor group he has that walk of the silverback and he’s a lot more lately provoking Momotaro 😢😢 And that is sad very sad my little baby boy with them great big beautiful brown eyes 👀 is ready to be a big very handsome silverback himself 😢😢❤❤❤ But on the other hand I can’t wait to see IF he gets a wife to see how he becomes a dad I’m hoping he’ll be more like Genki ,,,, loving 🥰 but playful like him and Kintaro..

Gentaro is getting feisty again. Momo will ignore him till he has to discipline him, & that only happens when Gentaro ends up biting him. Also does Mama Genki look pregnant to anyone else? She’s skinny all over but her stomach looks larger…just a thought❤️🦍❤️
No she’s not pregnant cause she hasn’t gone into estrus. It took 6 years after she had Gentaro for her to go into it. It’s doubtful she’ll get pregnant until then an unfortunately in 2 years she may likely be to old.

I really feel sorry for Momotaro, he makes mistakes but every time he comes close friendly to Gentaro he just steps away and keeps on it 😢 I wonder where it comes from in Gentaro, fear? Independence? Contempt? Despise?
I hope in the planning the breeding program they don disrupt the DJeeco troops! That’s a solid group with real feelings for each other. That’s what’s wrong width Mo, they took him from his mom too soon. Which one of the Sisters would they use, and is there any consideration for their mental and emotional health. Gorillas are really picky and don’t always respond to each other sexually. Zoos are really cruel and should be abolished. At least let them retire to a sanctuary.
D'jeeco isn't in Japan. Japan isn't part of the main breeding program that most countries are a part of.

I read in the comments info that the western gorillas were being considered, which would include Taiwan? That's where I was coming from. I watch them all, Shabani troop, Winston, Frank etc. I need a life, and to pay attention to the info boxes....😊
@@lizzyyorkJapan is in a collaboration with Tawain last I heard. Whether it involves the gorillas or not, I am not certain.
I don’t want anything to happen to the D’jeeco’s either! One of the videographers said that Jabali would be returning to the Netherlands. Don’t know when or if Tayari would return with him.😊

I will say Momo and Genki .ade 2 beautiful children with intetesting personalities. But Mo doesn't seem interested in mating with Genki. If the zoo wants them to have 1 more baby it's going to have to give Big Mo a little help 😊 like with some hormones 🤭
The male gorilla goes into heat as well if he’s not in heat he’s not interested. She won’t be in estrus perhaps for 2 more years an then will be a to old. He doesn’t seem to know what to do he’s a bit awkward this due because he didn’t grow up with a silverback so he hasn’t had the guidance.
@@annemariemcnamara8756 Male gorillas do NOT go into heat. This is something the people filming made up. Primate males respond to females in estrus which happens once a month from 1 to 3 days. Males will also chase, or slap females to encourage them to mate. They can mate any day every day, but will only do it if they feel like it. Google does wonders folks, use it and stop repeating made up stuff.

@@annemariemcnamara8756 Males don't have heats. It would be a 'rut' if they were another species like male deer, sheep or camels. Primates reproduction works pretty much same as humans for both male and female.

It may be them thinking heat (female) and rut (male) are the same or maybe CZcams is translating wrong but you're 100% correct primate males do not go into either. I don't think schools are teaching this so it's likely just people repeating wrong info.
