At the age of 19, Chad Le Clos did the unthinkable - at the 2012 London Olympics, he edged ahead of one of the world’s greatest swimmers, Michael Phelps, to win the 200-metre butterfly sprint and take home the gold medal. And he didn’t stop there… For eight years, he blazed a trail through the sporting world, becoming South Africa’s most decorated Olympian. Then, everything changed. At the Tokyo Olympics, Chad crashed out of the competition and into a downward spiral. Battling his own private demons, he struggled to regain his competitive edge. But he refused to give up. Spurred on by his supportive family and his coaching team, he’s now preparing for the this year’s Paris Olympics. And he’s more determined than ever before to regain his Olympic glory.

Our true SA "Champ" - we are all right behind you!
All olympians especially winners end up depressed at the end of their careers because they can never achieve a pinnacle like an Olympic podium ever again in their lives. They feel like they've lost all purpose
How many Olympians do you know?
@@happysaffa8871pretty standard story for them so he doesn’t really need to know any.
@JVan-ic6ic the problem lies in the fact he said all Olympians end up depressed, which isn't true. My mother was an para-olympian that won quite a few gold medals and had 2 world records and she transitioned to normal life quite fine. Also know of 2 more able bodied Olympians that didn't get depressed, so that statement seems to come from a place of ignorance.
@@happysaffa8871 How many brands of bread fo you know?
@@happysaffa8871Bro😂. The most unhappy saffa in the world😂Wolrd 😂is
Super proud of you Chad. We are rooting for you!
Bert is looking great !!
I didn't recognize him. Thought it was his coach for a second but the voice is still recognizable
If only the ANC had Chad’s mindset
Hahahaha, the ANC doesn't have any mindset let alone one like Chad's 🤣🤣🤣
It takes a working brain to have any mindset, sadly the ANC doesn't have the sum of one functioning brain between the lot of them.
Strongs to Chad inspirational storie
What a champion!! Role model for young and old
Well done Chad, just stay focused on the lane in front of you and you will bring back another medal
04:35 We love you Chad, but context matters, Phelps was at the back end of his career when you beat him
There’s always that one person
